⚙️ SHOW NOTES - EPISODE #122: Some inlay is high style while others seem downright crude, but the chunky bow tie type of inlay manages to look stylish while reinforcing natural cracks. In this episode Tom shows two different methods for easily making your own beautiful custom bow ties. You might be surprised by the project he uses to demonstrate. Check it out! (Closed Captioned)

Love to see you take your skills and make one of those epoxied river tables or something with slabs. I’ve seen a lot of those guys who do them and they look really cool but you can tell they’re not always necessarily extremely skilled in the finer details (some definitely are tho). The lily pad table was definitely pretty amazing though and way more complex.
Thanks, I appreciate your confidence in me! I have seen some epoxy resin tables I have liked and may give it a shot some time. But I’ve not been drawn to the type of epoxy table that is almost the same or more epoxy than it is wood! 😎 Thanks again!👍
Hahahaa - still enjoying the “SHOP NIGHT LIIIVE” hoot at the end. Next time maybe do it with after throwing down the giant log barbells.
Why didn’t I think of that?! 😎 Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for being part of us Cos!👍
Just curious about the outside and inside corners of the bow ties (and recesses) if one could just let them be rounded in accordance with the curvature of the bit, minimizing the cleanup. Not sure how it would look though or if there is some other mechanical reason for them needing to be sharp corners. They might end up lookin like doggie bones though😀. I could see having some unique flair to them especially on some of those river tables. Anyway another great video.
Yes, it can be done. But it’s a matter of preference. I like the crisp corners…the rounded always look so machined and mass-produced to me, but that doesn’t mean I’m right and it’s the only way! Thanks for watching! 👍😎
Do they seem a little heavier now with the bow ties ?
Joking
Yeah, I can barely lift them now 😎🏋️♀️
