Backing out the cut on a table saw is not a good practice. Using a sacrificial push stick is much safer. Your hands and fingers are to close for comfort on the router, you could use your push paddles from your jointer. What you do is your choice of course, l just think safety is paramount with tools that can do a lot of damage in a millisecond on that day we just get a little to comfortable. The video was well presented too.
