Norm has complimented Letterman for that in the past. Norm doing some serious meta. Admitting to his own deliberate bombing onstage and skewering Jimmy's infamous overboard laughter, "the bit" name, the memory in real time of the giant standing ovation obliging the audience to all stand up and hoot just because he said so.
