I have a theory on this. Many people say they don't understand what it's about. I think that "The Sacrifice" was his wife or girlfriend. He was being controlled mentally by the demons. He was dreaming/ put into another world but the different version of his. The demons was making him dream all of that and he was put under the circumstance that she was a demon. The only demon to get close to him was her. In the reality part she was trying to wake him up when in the dark version, she was the one trying to kill him in the meat factory. He was thanked by the leader of the demons for killing her/ sacrificing her, and then he was returned to the original world.
Very close on most of it, but one key detail changes much of the context for all that you've described.
What's the detail?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
He was the only one closer to another human?
GamerPanda178 so you mean the girl was a '' ghost '' and the man was like in another world and he shot her in that world and then he got back to the normal world and his girlfriend was dead because he shot her in his '' dream ''?
Thank you @Evan Royalty for having me aboard what I consider to be among the gold standard of Machinima, and I've been in a few. Your cinematography, story development and attention to detail had me watching all the way through with a kind of interest machinima typically does not draw from me. I feel rekindled and ready to look for more quality machinima work just like this.
Let's do full performance capture for a full-length machinima.
Thanks, my dude. More to come.
Evan Royalty hey! I just have a quick question Evan. What mod do you use to be in the same game as your cast to record this
I also wanna know that. What mod Do you use for that?
River Kanoff I swear it's cool how it's like a real movie that I've seen before similar to it
River Kanoff hey you're that guy. from the film.
*wakes up on beach*
"Fuck, not again."
*walks away*
Discorded says my uncle... every Sunday morning
Is it just me or does it give an American horror story vibe
It does
Omg Yeah! So true :D
omg yes so much :D
Leopoldo Meza ya totally
Yep!! definitely true!!
Woooo haven't watched yet but I know this is gonna be awesome
THE TRIBUTE same
We may need some subtitles for masked suited man. I didn't catch what he said. And I have this little feeling it was important.
Same
TheRydersanandreas It's a passage from "Dante's Inferno."
Jupit I like your videos bro I seen them all
Thanks Logan!
TheRydersanandreas o Ik right I didn't understand... I don't know why Cleo Died
That was absolutely awesome! I can't imagine how long it even took! I completely forgot I was watching a GTA machinima it felt like a proper mini movie great work dude 👌✌️
When I read your critique on another GTA V machinima where you used the line "action/or/drama dictates camera movement" I knew I had to check your work out. This did not disappoint. Your direction, cinematography and most impressively your sound direction really came together into a piece of cinema that elevates the art of machinima beyond so much of what I've seen before.
The hours you must have spent to get the sound just right were well worth it, there was not a second where the sound wasn't drawing me in to the story.
Wow.... This was amazing I've never seen anything like it... I'm definitely subscribing
Bruh I'm not even playing and I don't care if you read this or not but you make the best gta skits. Like for real keep it up they are fire (btw waiting for the wasteland) 🔥
Thanks, dude. Means a bunch.
Evan Royalty hey can I ask a question man?
You just did.
Evan Royalty funny. But for real tho, when do you plan on dropping the Wasteland?
When it's done.
So excited, watched all the previous movies you made.
Absolutely loved the jump-cut sequences. You pulled it off really well and overall this was an amazing film.
LOVE the use of the tennis animations at 09:41 lol I'm re watching now that I have a PC and my understanding of this is so much better. I see all the intricate detail and effort you put in. Bravo man. This must have been draining, but it was sooooo GOOD!
Absolutely incredible. The way you built up tense in certain scenes where we would think there would be a jumpscare so we get prepared for it, but you wait too long so we let our guard down, as soon as we do, you do the jumpscare. The camera work is amazing and the animations that you used are good.
You continue to amaze me. If I grow up to be a big time movie director or producer, I won't be saying my inspirations were people like Brian De Palma, Quinton Tarantino, or Steven Spielberg. I'll say, "My inspiration was from a guy I grew up watching on UA-cam named 'Evan Royalty'". You are my favorite Storyteller.
4:00 was sooo creepy when they all turn arounf to look at you, well done man
Laytonthereaver yeah, and 10:40 was too
Your the most amazing GTA V movie director I've ever seen and you have real talent bro. I'm truly proud of you.👏👏 Keep up the amazing work cause I know you will!
It's upsetting to see unbelievable work like this get such low views... while there are crappy, un-professional videos with MILLIONS... I make videos as well... and it's annoying putting so much work into things and nobody notices... I am genuinely sorry... and I WILL show this video AND your channel to everyone I know.
Keep up the good work. I can tell you really care about what you do. It's amazing. 👍🏼
felt very reminiscent of It Follows, prolly the music
What can I say...You have absolutely outdone yourself this time. Great story, cinematography, voice acting, etc. Fantastic job sir.
i think that this is one of the greatest machinimas that i have ever seen. its up there with codename pheonix. Just everything from the cinematography to the dialog this is fucking sensational. Great job evan!
I can sense a 'Stranger Things' vibe with the synth soundtrack, Title art and 'oldy-times' Flicker seen throughout the film. I'm loving your stuff
mint vid who else cant wait for The Wasteland
Harry Venables me!
woo this is some spooky shit happy Halloween my dude
just finished..
holy shit that was cool. Nearly jumped out of my seat when he killed the thing. I couldn't really tell what the masked man was saying some of the time at the end, but it sounded cool. Would love a sort of explanation or conclusion to some of the loose ends, but wheres the fun in that ;)
That thing he killed was a woman which could have been his real girlfriend
Dakota Stoneberger i thought that 2
I grew up watching 80's horror movies, 'The Sacrifice' made me feel like a kid again. The tone and mood of the machinima was absolutely beautiful, especially the dust and scratches that made it feel old. The Cinematography and the soundtrack fits together well, and it gives out this chill down your spin. I would like to see more of this work in the near future, or a grind house machinima. The plot gave me goosebumps, and I would definitely watch this again. 10/10
Thanks, dude. Put a ton of work into making it look somewhat authentic.
It definitely shows man, great job! Very authentic-looking.
The cinematography and sound design of this is through the roof. Amazing work. Loved the 80s horror vibe of some of the soundtrack. Legitimately got scared through out the whole thing and nothing seemed like a cheap jump scare. I’ve seen your other works as well, particularly the SCP content and Into The Back Rooms, and you do atmospheric horror amazingly well. Not to mention they all just look gorgeous. Hope to see you making feature films someday.
This is amazing and gave me the chills I didn't understand the ending when it shows the dead woman. But apart from that it was stunning it literally felt like a movie the voices, music, camera angles... Everything was amazing. This movie gave me the chills, keep it up and good luck in your next project can't wait to see it!
Great stuff Evan, enjoyed that!
Glad to hear it, dude.
Dude this is beautiful. You really do a great job with bringing out the horror in gta with the camera stuff, sound effects, everything pretty much. Good job dude!
Wow, excellent work the storyline was great and the camera angles were perfect. This had so much suspense this is probably the best machinima I've seen! Job well done
Dude I am blown away by this amazing work!
Ye he’s been doing great work
Holy shit this is the best thing I've seen! Totally under appreciated
i loved the voice acting
legit the best video ive seen created..the shaders the graphics enhancements..... the jump scares the cinematics everything about this captivated me...
The plot thickens even more as the story goes on
This is probably one of the best, if not the best GTA Machinima/Movie I have ever seen! Everything was just so on point. I would rate this 10/10. Nice job!
Absolutely amazing! You've really mastered your craft over the years, especially with cinematography. I also enjoyed the semi-Stranger Things vibe that I felt in this one, not sure if that was intended? Anyway, you got the horror iconography and tone in perfectly. The sound design was also brilliant, I can imagine how much time it took to redubb and add sounds in post. And that last jumpscare with the scream really got me haha, well done!
This was generally gripping scary and soooo beautifully done. You are truly talented and are a massive inspiration. Well done
This is genuinely scary can everyone keep in mind this is GTA u are truly skilled
So proud of you guys in GTA V community , perfection 100% , keep up the good work

Fantastic quality! The dialogue was very natural and the music and use of silence were superb. Amazing suspense!
Evan you know the soundtrack at the begginning when ,,The SACRIFICE"happened
Dab to be A pigeon check my channel pls I need you help
Dude, this transcended. I wasn't watching a GTA V machinima, I was watching a legitimate short film in it's own right.
I recognized little things, like the apartment, certain clothing items, animations, and the like- but at the same time, it felt foreign. Like this was a fully storied cutscene from a game that wasn't GTA V. It was it's own beast. The voice acting was excellent, the music, pacing, framing, and restraint are also excellent. I'm just... floored.
Thanks, man. Always glad to read comments like these.
The walking part after he woke up was a bit long. I am happy there was some sort of pay off. Many of these have the suspense but never have a good ending. Music, editing, video quality were all very well done.
Wonderful job! I completely love this! So glad you're back with these short films!
this is amazing, the details of it all make it perfect, I've never seen any thing like it before the vibe of it gives me chills i love it
Good shit dude!
I really wish Rockstar could fix the choppyness when panning and stuff like that :/
I just have to say this is one of the best gta v machinimas I have ever seen the scene the music and just everything was just so every and scary and when that ghoul came from behind the wall I jumped so hard with my headset on and the warehouse scen was AMAZINGLY WELL DONE and also the ending was crazy wild and I think you’re one of the best gta machinima creators and they’re not many of them out they’re that know how to use stuff the proper way but you seemed to do everything correct great job man still watching this masterpiece in 2019 🔥🔥🔥
Camera work & Music have greatly improved, excellent work, Evan.
Absolutely amazing, suspense all the way through. Film effects are better than amazing. Good job to the Evan, Prism studios and all other creators.
That was fucking amazing, really good job man 👍🏽
the amount of sounds that go into all this my god, this is film standard man. I bet there was like a whole other editing process really, just for the sounds (example: the heart beats when the girl walks passed)
the music fit so well. gave an 80's slasher vibe to it. reminds me of it follows
Not unintentional, it was a direct inspiration. Hell, the shot at 9:07 was directly inspired by the opening shot of It Follows.
Evan Royalty nice to see someone who understands good cinematography. your videos look very amazing and taking inspiration from other good horror films isn't a bad thing. the jump scares were earned by the tension you built. this is scarier than a lot of horror films these days. you earned a subscriber :)
Evan Royalty I wish I could see you could direct an actual vignette or horror anthology short. you obviously have a good understanding of pacing and direction. could even see a movie being made out of this. one thing I liked about this and harvest was that the questions never fully get answered. the less we know the scarier it is. it's very similar to Lovecraft's horror. I will definitely check out your other videos though because you obviously put a pain staking amount of work into them.
Watched this at night and in the dark. Ngl I was spooked lol especially during the flashlight scenes because I just had a strong feeling something was gonna happen and it had my heart beating so fast.
Happy Early Halloween Evan, and to everyone here. Best way to start the already-ongoing festivities. 👌
You haven't lost your flair that's for sure. This is so cool!! Excited for your future films!
I enjoyed this much more than I did with most horror movies. Keep up the good work.
I've never seen a machinima that good. The ending was something else. I thought he would group up all those people and shoot them three times but he wasted his shells. Good job!!!
Im... Im just speechles.... That was fu*king awesome!!! You should get an award because this is the best and I have watched A LOT of machinimas!
LOVED this! I love the camera shots, dialogue, effects etc, 10/10!
Ayceio no, 1000/1000 i want him to win the gta 5 oscars XD i wish that exists!
I'm so fucking confused right now was he sleepwalking when he shot her? should I be mad? should a be sad? so many questions. lol
Dude, amazing! Absolutely amazing! Your work is stellar! This was so incredibly suspenseful and beautifully done that I am in awe! Excellent work!
This is the greatest GTA 5 machinama I have ever seen, and ive seen very many amazing quality videos. If only I could do amazing stuff like this on console.
16:30 when I saw he was going to the saw mill I was like Aw,shit here we go again
This was incredible, I was never usually one for Machinema, however this short film left me in awe.
Scared the crap out of me when that girl came out when he was peeking
SAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMEEEEEEE
Came for the scp content stayed for the fantastic story telling in all your videos. God please keep it up.
this gave me a stranger things vibe but holy hell man this was amazing!
Allan Pizza IKR

Now this is an amazing piece of film you made. You deserve a beer mate.
massively impressed man, a lot better than your previous horror, "HARVEST" which I loved btw, keep this work up man
EPIC. love all of evans gta movies! they all show such levels of professionalism & time and effort :D
even if i had a PC to use mods, i couldn‘t do it that good! this is one of the best gta 5 machinimas i‘ve ever seen!
I love how you added dialogue
Evan Royalty has the best GTA V movies I've ever seen!!
This is amazing! Great work!
I love your Videos man!! Good job
I love the John Carpenter like scoring! It’s absolutely amazing with the cinematography!
I was on the edge of my seat, this video is amazing Evan!
Not gonna lie, as always its fucking tight!! Keep up the good work
Man. That was crazy. When Dante was in that meat locker, I knew something would happen, but I didn't expect it that suddenly! Anyways, excellent job, and I'm looking forward to seeing The Wasteland soon.
I always expect high quality when I click on your machinimas and not once have you disappointed :)
The music was dope,sick,and lejet
Another masterpiece. Well done, Royalty.
to put it simply : wow, that was amazing. dense immersive mood, the soundscape is memerizing. absolutely loved it. the cinematography, thats a correct term? not sure, but I assume yest - that too was fantastic. pacing and everything. only minor problem is that I didnt figure out what actually happened.
2:35 damn, that take is so realistic :0
This actually had me on edge like an actual movie, FairPlay mate FairPlay 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Absolute amazing keep up the great work I enjoy these than most videos 👍🏻
Such good lighting and camera shots.
There is no better way to celebrate Halloween than to watch this awesome movie! Good job! Happy Halloween!
Heres an an idea, make a 80s style slasher flick in GTA V, that would be awesome.
That would work gta online and Franklin have lettermans which was big in the 80s
The Imposter I'm making 80s style films if your interested.
The Imposter thats actually not bad... good idea!
As always dude, another freaking epic GTA movie. Totally forgot I was even watching a video game.
Duuuuuuude! That was awesome!! Soo spoooooky! Love your editing skills and voice acting!
this was amazing! you're so good at this, keep it up :D
This deserves a lot more attention my friend
credits: X, X, X, and Matt's Mom. lol. that was one of the best machinimas I've seen. I really thought I was going to see him meet up with wood mill guy at a bbq. lol. keep up the amazing gta machinima.
Love your content Evan keep up the good work bro.
Evan Royalty, this is seriously better than any of the giant shitty half-assed no brainer films Hollywood has put out in years! Great job dude I'm a very hard person to please and even harder to instill any sense of feeling, I genuinely felt a sense of dread! I tried to pick it apart and find cliche moments and couldn't find anything! the event timings were staggered from the score which caused a false scare and when a real scare occurred it really worked! I guess to sum my review in four words i guess they would be: "It was pure GENIUS!!!" mad props dude! I look forward to future films.
Wow great film, I’m not usually one for horror but this is good. And that plot twist at the end
