And there, standing in that police commissioner's home, is when Matt realized he didn't want to be a police officer at all; he wanted to be a criminal. And that is how Derren Brown created the scourge of London known as the "Jack in the Box" burglar, believed to be responsible for hundreds of burglaries in and around London during the last several years.

It’s just in most situations he’s doing this when it would be easier to make them relaxed, but on the plane it made sense for him to be in a heightened state so he used that. As long as he’s interrupting something (like when he changes things that are the same every time like handshakes) he can put the, in that state. But just because he’s explained it doesn’t mean you’re wrong, there is a (good) chance this is just BS.

derren waking the guy up in the night reminds my of a "prank" my mum did one night, when i was about 6-ish, where she woke me up in the night to get ready for school and apparently i did without question then after she told me it was a joke, apparently i just gave a light laugh and went back to bed. my mum told it to me years later as an early adult and i have no memory and looking back on it i was probably in the same state as the guy, a weird trance state.

I’d feel really bad being one of those actors. He’s so damn nervous and you have to comfort him and tell him it’s all gonna be alright knowing fully well that plane is about to almost crash and rely on him

How can you believe that he isn't faking it? Not only is the whole scene with the train insane and hard to believe to not be staged, but where I absolutely can't take it seriously anymore is at the end. It is just too hard to believe that he actually managed to truly put this guy into such a powerful sleep-like state that they could land the plane, drive to another location and literally make him walk on his own to then wake him up again at the exact correct time. How do you take that seriously?

    • @Sealedsolid
      @Sealedsolid Рік тому

Obvs the train scene has been set up, a lot of the dangerous situations in these shows are clearly controlled otherwise they wouldn’t do them. But the point is to take him out of his comfort zone and for him to overcome his fears, it’s not just to see if he can escape before a train runs over him.
Totally up for you to believe it, but you might want to look into and listen to Derrens explanation on his methods before just jumping to ‘it can’t be done’. It’s naturally difficult to believe any of this kind of thing without experiencing it yourself
Anyway for me personally these specials are as much about the life messages and themes he communicates as it is the actual stunt he tries.

I’ve got some “Yorkshires” in my family and despite what people say, they are regular people, just like any other, of course We’ve a long way to go before they allow any “Yorkshires” into the special forces but it’s great of Derren to allow a “Yorkshire” to at least be seen to be doing something other whining about how splendid they are. Good for him! ❤️🤓🇬🇧

Let’s hope the police don’t mind that he’ll happily walk into what he thinks is the police commissioners house. Always a great quality in someone who wants to be an officer. I have no idea what he was thinking…that’s not a normal thing to do. I can’t imagine deciding that was a good idea, especially sitting on the sofa. I’m also confused by the fact that his family seem to be happily surprised by that fact…I mean, what!? That’s the kind of thing you actively want to hide from people.

LOL 4x reds on the VASI lights and the nose pitched forward, I'm amazed that he managed to land!
Perhaps they made the simulator uncrashable, as to not scare the cr*p out of him when he hit the tarmac...?
But the cherry on top has to be the captain slumped over, while curiously sitting in the co-pilot's seat. (yea, that plane seemed to be missing a co-pilot)

I'm not a hater -- I truly have come to love Derren Brown.
The only one of these so far that has me convinced is The Push on Netflix.
Everyone seems so fake in their reactions and actions toward thing.
    Everything feels off and fake.
His stage shows blow me away tho, I fully believe those are real and that he is a master.
I just wonder if these videos are to help him build rapport as a psychological master for his audiences so that when his stage shows come around EVERYONE is more suggestible because they know they are dealing with a psychological wizard.
No hate, all love towards Derren, but I just am not convinced... 😔

nah bruv, you never had that? I love it when that happens, I find a wallet in the street when suddenly a dude I never seen showsup in a subaru, takes me to some place, waits for me as I chill and watch tv, then takes me back home, doesn't comment about the fact that I just commited a crime in front of him (even though I chat to him about it on the drive back), shakes me hand a doesn't ask for payment...
I am baffled that some people are still convinced any of this is true.

Whew, the word ‘tenacity’ used to fill me with dread. An unobtainable goal, nothing more than an idea. Thankfully I’ve managed to change what tenacity means to me, aka not the absence of suffering but more the tolerance of it. Somewhat depressing but thus is life, doomed to death the day we’re born what’re we to expect 🤷🏼
