Sure is nice to see foreigner's first impressions of Finland especially when the impression is a positive one.😄
I want to see his impression in winter as well :D
Can't wait for that @@DAIKIFinlandLife
A well kept secret about visiting Finland is: September might be the best of all the months, not too cold or hot, not too bright or dark, not too much of tourists and people bustling about, and of course you get to see the fall colors, and with some luck northern lights (tho not so spectacularly, as in north).
That's a good point. I like autumn when you get to see bright daytime and dark evening :)
Still most finns think july or august are the best months, because then you can enjoy the summer. September isent really anymore summer, when its not hot enough for taking sun anymore, when schools starts.
Amazing glimpse of Finland through a foreigner's eyes! 🇫🇮🌟
This should be the official Helsinki tour. You’re literally a local at least to me. You know the daily life of Finnish as well as how they do in different season. I like it a lot and that’s for the awesome video. ありがとう😊
We have a saying in Sweden: Eat breakfast like a King, eat like a Queen at Lunch, and eat dinner like a homeless person.
Nobody does that though, many skip breakfast and eats a massive meal for dinner
That's an interesting saying :)
You guys are so positive. Always looking for nice things to reflect on. That's something that we Finns could really step up our game in.
Thanks for bringing friends over to Finland! Its always a joy to see foreigners exploring both food and areas! Also thanks for feeding him Salmiakki. SALMIADAIKKI strikes again!
Also in my area we tend to say that Cloudberries extend your life, like as in you live longer! Also your friend is really good at english :D
one day i believe you also will be able to handle the salmiakki taste and fall in love with it.
Nice to know how you say about cloudberries in your area :)
I would say the typical finnish eating rhythm is 5 times a day including 2 warm meals. Breakfast (porridge/bread) -> Lunch (warm meal in school/work) -> Snack -> Dinner (warm meal in home) -> Iltapala.
Great video! Always interesting to see how others view Finland and Finnish culture
Thanks for the info!
Yes this is it.
4 to 5, you can leave the evening snack if you want to wake up hungry. I use that trick to make sure I eat breakfast.
when I was growing up in Helsinki in the 1960:s we bought salmiakki-powder in the pharmacy, and stuck it in our mouths and loved it!
Finland is basically a three meal culture... Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. But the consist of the meals depend on the work you do. In Agriculture, one eats heavy in the morning, have a light lunch like Coffee with pastry or bisquit... and a heavy dinner... But it seems most office workers have lunch as their main meal. Snacks are a standard of living that makes you fat...
Salmiakki did used to be medicine! For coughs and sore throats, I think. You can still get "apteekkarin salmiakki", apothecary's salmiakki.
I just enjoy seeing your videos, friends and family
Amazing, beautiful vlog... specially I love the fact that you heard me and started making long vlogs... 😊 thanks a lot for your kindness, for my best entertainment I look forward to your vlogs🙂
That's nice to hear, and thanks for your opinion!
Great video as always brother. It was nice to see that you guys enjoyed the nature as well!
Cloudberries grow on swampy forests. Good berry, but sadly hard to come across in the wild.
that red you said look poisoous is considered in finland poisonous not in other countries who boil it before eating, sometimes two times and after that it is perfect to eat. sometimes salted for at least 3-4 months before safe to eat.
I loved your friend taking another bite of salmiakki even though his face said he doesn't want to haha! Sometimes you have to try something a few times before you can decide if it's weird but alright or weird and terrible!
What a beautiful forest area though, I'll have to visit it sometime when I'm near Helsinki.
Yeah the next bite kinda impressed me lol
The weather this autumn was surprisingly good and warm, your friend was lucky 😊
Very nice video! Yrjönkatu swimming hall is also a must for visitor! Not many people think of it, but it is quite an experience!
True, actually that was also part of the plan but they weren't open when we wanted to go.
Such a good video and well guided tours for your friend 👌
Kiitos!
😊 nice tour for your friend! 20 minutes long video feels satisfying after watching. Full watch! Keep it up! I ate salmaikki while watching.
Thanks for watching the full video!
Finns do eat two warm foods per day: around 11-12 and around 17-18.
yup. and sometimes a snack in between them.
Ok, but I know many Finns who don't eat warm meals in the evening :)
Some families don’t serve dinner. Parents eat a good lunch at work and say to the kids ”you ate at school” and they don’t care or realise the difference of quality!
Good families make a dinner every evening. And that shows in school; learning ability and other signs.
Many eats a sandwich only.
Its ok with adults but not children in age of grow.
This video was so nicely executed and filmed my friend! Gorgeous work!
Thank you!
Fun video! It was interesting to see where you'd take your friend - taking notes for when my foreign friends visit here hehe
That salmiakki packet lasts for like a hour in my hands.
Great video! Hope he had a good visit :)
Next time go to Lapland with your friend! 😊
Again a wery fun to watch chill video Daiki🙂💪✌
Thank you for watching!
You should try salmiakki ice cream ☺️
I really like your videos
Hyvä nauti ystävänstäsi👍👍
I like that tea shop as well, although I like black tea better. I ate a matcha mille crepe cake last time, and it was beautiful and tasted good as well.
いつものようにサポートします。 良い週末を。
いつもありがとうございます!
Good vibes all around! I'm sure your friend will become addicted to salmiakki if he keeps eating 😂
I doubt it hahaha
Kiitos videosta! どうもありがとう
ご視聴ありがとうございます!
Damn that matcha cake looks so yummy😢
It always is!
Kaverisi on tosi kohtelias, ehkä pitää osan mielipiteistään itsellään? 🫣😄 Kiitos videosta. 👋 muoks: vietin teininä paljon aikaa tuossa kirjastossa, se on i-h-a-n-a.
🌸💖👌🏻
Did you move to Helsinki cause of work during the time you did?
Yes.
Finnish forests are full of mushrooms you could eat. Regular mushroom gatherer have knowlege only several of them. It is lost culture. Young ones recognise only two or three types like cantarelle, champignons and maybe one extra and in the shop with label on it.
Saussages are sadly below medium in Finland and salmiakki is really bad thing to eat, well Im among them who thinks that.
Why, whyyyy is it necessary to give innocent people salmiakki? I myself love certain salmiakkis, but there are so many good Finnish candies you could offer instead 😀.
I love the Richardinkadun kirjasto. Before Oodi opened, I used to go to the upper most floor, sit on the windowsill reading for hours. I loved it especially when it rained. But during the summer heat, it was like a sauna.
XD
Ha ha ha…your friend can take salmiakki better than you even tho it’s his first time ever. 😅
Yes, he won...
It's too cold in Finland.
Nice video as always!
