I love fishing Toads in heavy brush! I have caught several nice ones with that technique. Thanks for the tip with the hook setup. I'm going to give that a whirl. Your the best!!
Man I love the tiptoad! Downright my favorite. Stumbled upon it by accident one day when I didn't have a kitech on me. Its been my go-to ever since. Favorite color....... snot rocket
You already know the #100percentwatchsquad is here! I accidentally bought a bag of those Yum toads out of the bargain bin at Walmart. You know the box; it's the one on the bottom shelf at the end of the aisle that has a bunch of different Yum baits in it, right next to the box with a bunch of Creme baits. Every Walmart has one. All I saw were the legs in the package, which I mistook for some new type of craw bait, lol. But hey, for $2 you can't beat it.
Excellent video. I like how you explained every aspect of this lure, including how to rig it on the hook. So many other fishing channels just take it for granted that their viewers already know every aspect about a given technique gloss over or skip useful information. This is my first time viewing this channel and although I’ve got too many other channels in my subscription list, I added this one too.
I’m loving this new tip. Especially when I’m new to using soft plastics. I’m snagging lots on the creature baits but nothing yet on stick baits. I’m really loving the Texas rig and now I’m getting some owner hooks and I’m going to stay with soft plastics till August. Thanks Hank for sharing your experiences and knowledge. I’m learning tons. And as always, You rock too brother 🫡
It's my 2nd year and I think I got overwhelmed last year so I've done the same but I'm just the opposite I've been catching the fire outta large mouth on ribbon tails of all sizes but very few on creature style but what I have caught on creature (brushhog junebug) was my PB at 3.57 but diff rigging that toad now thanks
@@BassGeek I just bagged a two and a quarter pounder with a zoom horny toad. First time using one thanks for the lesson, and I dragged and twitched it on the bottom, I was so pumped pulling him in. And since I’ve started to weigh them, it’s my PB officially now. Thank you Brother, you’re a great inspiration 👍🏻
My wife just bought me my first package of those last weekend, I didn’t get any strikes but they cast surprisingly well and i do love the bubbles/action , im glad to hear they’re worth some confidence
Hank, they make a double hook where each barb hooks into those little nubs at the back of the bait. Owner makes it and it has the screw lock on it too!
I have a bag of toads in the 'pack most of the year. Zoom Horny Toad, and now the Zman GOAT. Buzz bait trailers, or by themselves. Good video Hank! 🤘😎🎣
Best geek I love you, I use a Keitech frog with the rage legs like a menace rage from strike king Kai text got them same style frog legs and they work a bunch and not only do largemouth like them so do walleye
Hey, Hank! I'm not sure why I liked the intro to this vid so much, but I did. Now for my question: I need to use belly weighted hooks with my toads to get them to come back to me right side up. If I use an unweighted heavy gauge 4/0 screw lock type hook I find the hook ups are really inconsistent - I assume it's because the hook gets pulled out instead of biting when I swing up while the hook is turned down. Do you have this issue?
I’m also turning into a bass geek myself and you’re gonna be my go to for setups line , rig , reel . I know a fair amount , but still need to learn the double uni knot for leaders . Do you fish alot of braid with fluoro leaders ? Or straight fluoro , braid , mono . I enjoy the videos too by the way thanks !
Thanks for the Great How To Video!!👊🏻 Couldn't come at a more perfect time! I sent TackleJunky a comment asking him but you answered my question on what rod to use. Do you use the 14# Mono on the buzzbait as well?? Wish I knew this for this past weekend could've helped me out. Stay Safe & God Bless!!
What do u think about those STIX line up of rods? I've been thinking about pulling the trigger on a set of those for a couple YEARS! i remember when he first launched them an I thought it was the best idea ever just to be able to reach down n know exactly what that rods for...
@@BassGeek Nice I threw it yesterday. Me and my dad were skeptical but I got a bite in heavy wind before it stormed. Waking up early to go catch some today.
I have not but I like a toad that will sink. I'm gonna do a short on this but i'm gonna tell you here also so thanks for the idea. hahahah The reason why is that If a bass misses it then I stop it and let it drop. A lot of the time the bass will come back and hit it again. So no follow up bait needed.
Oh man!!! I had these in my hands yesterday at bass pro and left em…I spent 100$ on plastics and some jigs and left the 4$ frogs 😡 what a rookie mistake Gonna halfto go back
Got me a pack of them tip toads today and tried them out with the owner twist lock hooks. And I noticed my frog was spinning. Is there something I'm doing wrong
First check that it's rigged dead center then maybe slow it down. Your not gonna burn this like a buzzbait or a whopper plopper. Most of the time it's just off center and just skin hook it to let that hook act as a keel.
3:22 shouldnt the slit be on top because u hide the hook in that lil pocket rather than skin hook it? Ik the frog would technically be upsidedown but its not like we needa see it? Learnin.
So for me I fish over clear water no grass and very sparse wood. So I like the clarity of it. There are ways to offset the stretch. I have a friend that still to this day only uses mono. The difference is you can offset the stretch with a stiffer rod. It's the entire system not just a single component that makes it work. You just have to tweak one if you tweak the other.
Nothing better than the bassgeek...💯🔥🎣
Hahaha thanks you it’s an honor
New content every Wednesday & Sunday!

Well except Last Sunday I was at Icast and it was crazy!
Thanks Geek Never thought of that was just using them as trailers. Digging through my boxes right now!!!!!

My pond is all scummed up now, and I just got some them goat toads finally to try....dagnamit! Lol
Hey when the scum is on then get the Frog leave the toad home.

I have yet to use toads from the bank. Great video. Ill remember to use the side hook set when I do. Thanks Hank!
It helps

Great tips on fishing a toad soft plastic!
Thanks I love it
Hank, they make a double hook where each barb hooks into those little nubs at the back of the bait. Owner makes it and it has the screw lock on it too!
I seen that but it has a weight on it and I like to move it slower which gives the bass more time to come from deeper

You can but just like fishing a frog you want to let that fish have it for just a second or two. I also side set like a Swimbait
Great video

Great video, I really liked it & learned some things, thanks 👍🎣

Great question and no not on these toads. you can hide the weight in the belly and they are designed for a double hook if your fishing around grass.
Why mono? Too much stretch on long casts to set hook.
So for me I fish over clear water no grass and very sparse wood. So I like the clarity of it. There are ways to offset the stretch. I have a friend that still to this day only uses mono.
