as a psychology student, and observing many cases of unplanned and even planned pregnancy and how if affects the mental health of the pregnant woman, i have come to notice more and more that the women who are most conscious and worried about not having the right tools to be mothers, are INDEED the ones who would make the best mothers.

      😭😭😭😭 this comment.
As someone who is going through a similar situation, I am 27 yrs old and 7 weeks pregnant.. This comment gives me a bit of hope.
I don't have a stable career or job at the moment, I feel financially unprepared. Although I am ready emotionally/mentally prepared and willing to make sacrifices for my baby, I feel that I wouldn't be able to give my baby the life he/she deserves because of the financial circumstances. That is the only factor that scares me the most.
This pregnancy was also unplanned and from an abusive relationship. But I know that I would be an amazing mom, if I decide to keep it. 😥
      Thank you

@@ssuareztepox I hope you decide whatever makes you the most comfortable in your body and mind, either by proceeding with the pregnancy or not 💕
I understand your fear of not being up to the job of meeting a child's needs and wants, but your emotional stability and mental preparation to be a mother is more important than whether or not you have a stable career already.
It can even be a journey you both go through, you and your child, of progression and highs and lows where you show them perseverance and effort through your hard work and devotion to job and family. It can be a part of the many things you teach them as they grow, by example and not just by words. (i hope you get my meaning, english isn't my first language and i am kinda trying to explain myself but sometimes it's hard).
Bottom line is: children resonate with love, not money. As long as meeting their basic material needs is guaranteed, then all they need really is love, endless amounts of respect and support and positive intervention in their lives. 💕
i wish you the best of luck in your journey, wherever it takes you

I’m 33 weeks with my little girl and my heart ached every second of this video because it’s exactly how I’ve been feeling. I feel extremely shameful and embarrassed to feel the way I do because I know that there are women that would do anything to be mothers. The day I found out I was pregnant was the worst day of my life. I remember thinking how unattached I will always be from the baby inside me. I’m a senior in college and I wanted so much more for myself. I have no idea how I will afford a baby and learn to be a mother. I considered abortion and adoption, but I couldn’t physically do it. My days are full of sadness and loneliness. I have no friends. No one wants to hang out with the pregnant girl. I have highs and lows as well. I love her, I want what’s best for her, but I don’t know if I can do it. Thank you for sharing your story. I haven’t found another video/story this authentic.

At the end of the day, women need support. Decisions made out of fear are damaging. Brittany had so many signs, as she pointed out in the video, that led her to keeping Jayden. She admitted herself that she did not feel maternal at all, yet here she is today defeating the odds as an amazing mother. Instead of telling women they can’t, we need to start with they absolutely 100% can. We need to empower women with love, not encourage with fear.

Every time in this video when you say "I wont be a good mom" I think about the time you made a whole pumpkin themed dinner for Jadyn. It's something so small but when I saw that video I literally thought "that's the type of mom I want to be" because I could just see how much you loved Jadyn and wanted to create fun experiences for her. I just want to tell 19 year old Brittany how great of a mom she turns out to be. (brb literally crying writing this) You're an amazing mom and that verse you shared describes your story so well. WOW...the transparency you have for this series is incredibly admirable. You have a strength that is just so unmatched and I hope you truly realize that! I’m also so touched that you spoke on your privilege that you realized you had; I feel like we all have had those thoughts so THANK YOU for reiterating that. Thank you for sharing your amazing story with us ❤️❤️❤️

I'm currently watching this because I'm going through an unplanned pregnancy - in a foreign country, and I can't go home because of covid. I already feel like it's the end of the world, but I couldn't possibly imagine going through this while dealing with an abusive ex. You're so amazingly brave and strong.

Wow! This is such an interesting story! Thank you for being so open and personal! This is very different for me as I am 20 years old and in a stable marriage I was married at the age of 18 and struggled with infertility for a year-and-a-half and very much wanted a baby, finally my Miracle boy is on his way! It's nice to hear other people's stories!

Brittany, your story is really moving. You have an amazing sense of fashion, but I didn't feel like I could relate so much to your lifestyle from what I saw in other videos. Now, understanding how far you have come, I can see what an amazingly caring and strong person you are, not just a pretty face. I also became pregnant in awful circumstances at 19, and 6 years later, I have come a long way too. I still aspire to be more stable and grow my family like you when I am a little older. You are a great role model.

I also became unexpectedly pregnant when I was 22 and it was incredibly hard. Luckily it was with my long time partner but he wanted an abortion and I couldn't go through with it. Even though we both loved each other there was a lot of resentment and sadness, and it was really traumatic for both of us. I was also incredibly sick and weak, and it only made me feel more like a burden. I can relate to a lot of your story, and hope to see more people tell theirs. Not enough people realize how immensely painful and confusing this can sometimes be. Thank you so much for sharing and bless you. I hope you're able to continue healing xoxo

I've been following you since you were Thrifts and Threads, and...this brought me to tears. I cannot imagine how hard it was to tell this story, but I'm SO glad you did it now...with the following you have. To give hope/understanding/normalizing to women in abusive relationships is invaluable. To give this as a gift to women unsure if they can be young mothers and still achieve their goals... incredibly supportive and uplifting. I love seeing the relationship that you two have, and can only hope to have that with my daughter!! Even though....we are MANY more years apart. Much love to you all! xx. Lauren
