As a number #1 fan in an ocean of #1 fans for Norman, when you see him play this song, you see a combination of a "gift from God" and plenty of hard work. Every time I listen to him, it puts a smile on my face and joy in my heart.

He is a great guitarist, but to say the greatest of all time is silly. Better then, Wes Montgomery, Charlie Christian, Kenny Burrell, Barney Kessel, Django Reinhardt, Joe Pass, Lenny Breau, John Pizzarelli, Tal Farlow, Herb Ellis, George Benson, Al Di Meola, Kevin Eubanks, etc, etc.. The list of great jazz guitar players is long, long, long, long!
He's not underrated I got many of his albums, I think Jazz Fusion in general is underrated. My girlfriend many years ago told me it all sounds the same to her and she's a classical pianist.

It's the NAMM show, man. There are killer players every 10 feet all day for 3 days. There is business to take care of, and no time to stand slack-jawed at all the awesome licks, when there are 100 more monster players to check out.
Always enjoyed the amazing talent of Norman Brown. One of my Favorites and just love the slight Benson influence in his playing. Beautiful Custom Made Signature Guitar. For the morons walking by or close that are looking him up and down, even if they DIDN'T know that Norman Brown is a Living Legend, how could they NOT stop what they are doing and observe and admire the amazing playing before there very eyes?
Because this is NAMM and this is not a rock solo. (speaking as a guitarist who loves rock guitar and Benson-y smooth jazz, and also Peter White and Marc Antoine).

C'mon man, this is likely a manufacturer's event at a convention site where the majority are rockers - one where the general public couldn't enter, because if it were, a crowd would have gathered. Missed him many times in my area - don't think it's ignorance just passersby not of a jazz nature.
He has a neo-soul smooth style, most jazz guys don't play quite like that. Most play fusion type jazz or some type of main stream smooth jazz with some pop. Brown's style is unique and fresh. He's a grammy award winning artist so he's in no way an unknown. But you wouldn't necessarily know him if that's not your cup of tea.

Definitely the number one or number two guitar player in the smooth jazz world. Funny though how he chokes on his own fast lick right at the end of the tune If you listen to the recording he nails it!
People had no clue. He was asking us "what do you wanna hear?" He played all our fave for almost 2hrs. It was an Awesome private show!

Norman Brown is a underated musician. The After the Storm album was smooth and punchy. Definitely buy it if you ever find it
