YES! I was thinking exactly the same thing. If this is NAMM, then I don't want to go. Ignorant people treating my music like common sewage coming out of the radio. This is art. Don't disrespect it. Respect the legend, you clueless fools. Art is completely lost on the young.

Well, for some of us, he is the best. His music and approach , mixed with his energy ....it just has the perfect mix of what we needed at a period of time in our life. Therefore, to some of ys, he speaks beyond words to our soul and resonates as "the best" at that critical moment. 😊
You can write that , but that does not make it so. I met Norman back in 1979 or 1980. I went over to his house in Kansas City Kansas a couple of times. He is a great guitarist, but to say the greatest of all time is silly. Better then, Wes Montgomery, Charlie Christian, Kenny Burrell, Barney Kessel, Django Reinhardt, Joe Pass, Lenny Breau, John Pizzarelli, Tal Farlow, Herb Ellis, George Benson, Al Di Meola, Kevin Eubanks, etc, etc.. The list of great jazz guitar players is long, long, long, long!
As a number #1 fan in an ocean of #1 fans for Norman, when you see him play this song, you see a combination of a "gift from God" and plenty of hard work. Every time I listen to him, it puts a smile on my face and joy in my heart.

There's NO WAY Norman Brown could do that now. Fantastic artistry..!! Listening in 2024 like this was yesterday.
Every time I watch this, it seems to reproduce a feeling of joy inside! Music and talent are truly gifts from God. Thank you LORD for Norman Brown.

Norman Brown is a underated musician. The After the Storm album was smooth and punchy. Definitely buy it if you ever find it

He's not underrated I got many of his albums, I think Jazz Fusion in general is underrated. My girlfriend many years ago told me it all sounds the same to her and she's a classical pianist.

Love love love it! How many times have I watched this? I don't know, I can't count anymore. This is one of my favorite Norman Brown songs and I like this version even better than the album.

Always enjoyed the amazing talent of Norman Brown. One of my Favorites and just love the slight Benson influence in his playing. Beautiful Custom Made Signature Guitar. For the morons walking by or close that are looking him up and down, even if they DIDN'T know that Norman Brown is a Living Legend, how could they NOT stop what they are doing and observe and admire the amazing playing before there very eyes?
Because this is NAMM and this is not a rock solo.

My all time favorite Norman Brown song. He plays with such enthusiasm and fluidity that is hard for any great guitarists out there to copy..The only problem I have is that the crowd in the backround. I mean whats wrong with this picture? I truly believe that they are all deaf I mean c'mon man this is in L.A.. Do these people realize that even if they do not know that it is Norman Brown playing can they not hear how great this person is playing? C'mon man!!!
It's the NAMM show, man. There are killer players every 10 feet all day for 3 days. There is business to take care of, and no time to stand slack-jawed at all the awesome licks, when there are 100 more monster players to check out.
It seems to be easy to play guitar like Norman... Without a doubt a terrific guitar player. One of my favorites.

He has a neo-soul smooth style, most jazz guys don't play quite like that. Most play fusion type jazz or some type of main stream smooth jazz with some pop. Brown's style is unique and fresh. He's a grammy award winning artist so he's in no way an unknown. But you wouldn't necessarily know him if that's not your cup of tea.
