Norman Brown is my greatest greatest greatest guitarist I'm a professional wildlife artist and I listen to his music all the time when I'm drawing God bless you Norman Brown keep playing
NORMAN on this Gibson L5 was a great Surprise to me❤ But His artistic style was not diminished On That Guitar ❤ Thanks Norman ,for these memories John Barnett aka A Voice In The Mall ❤❤❤❤revisted July 1 2024 ❤
Truly the spirit of West Montgomery and George Benson flows through this man and all wrapped in his own unique style.. Such clean articulate tone on that giant Gibson archtop, from October, the ascending with alternate so clean and thank you Norman!
This guy is so kickass, he taught our music note reading class at GIT, MI music school. He was so cool and kicked back, great teacher too, he put up with our goofy jokes etc.. He was so great then too he was like 26 years old then, he was a major player already then.
I walked into Tower Records when this album debut and they were playing it, I had to ask one of the workers who was this and walked out with 3 of his cds! Now I have most of his stuff!
Everytime I listen to this guy, all my negative thoughts vanished and I feel so relaxed as I'm flying and feel like I have everything what's needed in life to feel free, I'm so rich and feel abundance by just listening Norman's music.
This guitarist IS undoubtly one of the most innovative ,melodic and creative instrumentalist over thé World.Overgifted and beyond starrated musician.wes.mongtgomery,Jimmy Hendricks and Benson 's influences stand and flow out of his idiosynctratic approach to improvisation. We're dealing with a spiritual out-of-the way genius of the guitar to put chapter and verse together
I recently started taking Jazz guitar lessons because of Norman, and even bought an Ibanez George Benson model; which is the one I have seen him play. Anyway, about 3 months in the lessons, found out my teacher was one of his former students when he lived in Atlanta.
Drive the pacific coast highway 1 north from Carmel to San Francisco solo with my man playing, pure healing and a spiritually reflective inner experience.
Thank's for this Post! Norman is Guitar Gold! Years ago, in December 1996, I drove out of Norfolk, VA and headed back home to Wyandotte County and KCK: My Hometown, and Mr. Brown's Hometown. I LOVE Better Days Ahead!!It was a few months out and up the Smooth Jazz Charts quickly! I listened to that particular cut ALOT, and just as I hit I-70 East into Missouri, MY CASSETTE BROKE!!! 😮 😥 I was completely DEVASTATED and started to cry. I saw that as a SIGN that I would NOT have Better Days Ahead, but just the opposite. I have never stopped groovin' to Norman, but sometimes BDH makes me cry, when I think about that night! And look at Norman now! 🎸🏆 I've had some Good Days AND some bad ones, but like the the Williams Brothers say... I'm still here! Much Love to My Wyandotte County, Kansas City, KS Guitar Heroes: Norman Brown, Julian Vaughn and Carl Roland! Talent Times Three! 🎸💜
Same here, I would attend his or George Howard shows 2-3, 4 times a year an enjoyed every minute. I was Black, proud, young, talented, and handsome ...
Wow!!! Love the beautiful chords at the end as well as all the great soulful phrasing and tone that Norman has here! Norman was an awesome Musicians’ Institute instructor (G.I.T. in Hollywood Ca.) when I was a student there.I still remember how encouraging and complementary he was to me when he and I played a real book jazz tune in front of the class.Everybody liked and respected Norman and his abilities there. I became a Guitar instructor at M.I. after graduating there. I still remember Norman congratulating me on that too. I hope that he is still blessing people with his encouragement, tremendous playing and teaching abilities! Mark Caviness (Nashville Tn.)
Muchas lindas colores !
This truly brings back the best memories. Growing up this was one of my dads favorite musicians. One of my favorite guitar players on earth🙌🏽 there’s nothing like the sound of the great Norman Brown!!!🎸🎸🎸
I can recall listening to Norman on my way to and from work. Then I would go home and do round two to relax. His music always put me in an elevated frame of mind.
He does not always play relaxed like this.. Sometimes in concert he really burns it up, gets people standing up on their feet.. Not so many Jazz guitarists can do that, get a rock crowd reaction.
Wow what can you say....... this peice never fails to inspire me to get on with my life no matter the obstacles and what a performance, the energy the vibe he puts out is contagious, god bless Stormin Norman ❤️🙏🕊
I have all of Norman Brown's CDs way back when he was on the MoJazz label up until now. His entire music catalog. His music is "timeless". Talented brotha.
Extremely Talented. Norman Brown is great..Love the style: Norman Brown, Mark Whitfield, Nick Colionne, Tim Bowman, Jeffery Smith, Bruce McKenzie A Ray Fuller, Micheal Vince, I frankly love them all. They are all in my music collection.
I heard this song back in 1999ish, followed the trail, and fell into the rabbit hole. Hours and hours of such joy and pleasure ever since, not to mention getting my head in the right space. An amazing talent. Thank you, Norman Brown. Gifted. Hero.
I met Sir Norman Brown hanging out in Columbus Ohio at the Jazz and Ribfest.. Not only did he have one of the greatest smiles and personalities I've ever met, (no ego)but he lit the place up on stage!!!! May God bless him always
I first heard Norman play this song when I was 10 and immediately thought, this is a song I’m going to listen to for the rest of my life.
Why?
Norman Brown is my greatest greatest greatest guitarist I'm a professional wildlife artist and I listen to his music all the time when I'm drawing God bless you Norman Brown keep playing

Truly the spirit of West Montgomery and George Benson flows through this man and all wrapped in his own unique style.. Such clean articulate tone on that giant Gibson archtop, from October, the ascending with alternate so clean and thank you Norman!

This is a great guitarist. More importantly, a genuinely good person.

Even when he messes up it still sounds sooooooo good!
Exchanging between his thumb and the pick in the blink of an eye!!! Making it oh so smooth!!! You're the best Norman!!!!
The way he floats his pick from between his fingers and back again when thumb strumming....seamless.

Sin duda un gran guitarrista jazzista
I recently started taking Jazz guitar lessons because of Norman, and even bought an Ibanez George Benson model; which is the one I have seen him play. Anyway, about 3 months in the lessons, found out my teacher was one of his former students when he lived in Atlanta.
Norman was given that Gibson Johnny Smith by Paul Brown!! Norman is a great person, player, friend, and teacher!!
He said he uses that beautiful Gibson for all his recordings.. he only use those crappy Ibanez's on stage
This brings back old memories as a kid when my stepfather used to play these Norman Brown songs throughout the house on the CD player.
Amazing guitarist and song writer. Next car ride.
This is sick!! What a live performance, and I love this song so much.
This one of my favs of all time, love Norman Brown
