    When you can give and show your gift even when you're not noticed, that's appreciation, integrity and a pure love for what you bring to this world!

      NIKKI SIXX that's the perfect musician life. Anonymity and passion for your music with a respectable following. It's kinda like he gets to be the fly on his own wall.

    • @brentward5739
      @brentward5739 5 років тому

      @@CourtJester82 I had the same thought -- you've got one of the hottests guitarists on the scene playing a masterpiece song, and no one's listening. The gigs I like the best are when you've got people who LOVE jazz, and know how to listen, and come to sit and listen to jazz. Such gigs are not the norm, unforunately (not pun intended on the Norm).

      Just like those intimate Unplugged concerts, with actual smooth jazz connoisseurs on hand to witness the guitar master do his handiwork.

    I dont think he likes the fret board design too much on that guitar. Kind of looks like the action is not that great either.
    Not sure if he tinkered with the design team on that and kept his name on the guitar or not

    I dig Norman Brown, but I don't listen to smooth jazz much anymore. It all just sounds the same. Pretty much all of the guitarists sound similar, and let's not talk about the sax players and I have some favs! But damn, no one stands out from the next one. Vince Ingala sounds like Eric Darius who sounds like Darren Rahn who sounds like Steve Cole who sounds like Boney James. No one is really standing out. I don't like Kenny G but at least no one sounds like him (thank goodness), so he's got that going for him. Not sure if there is a "smooth jazz" sax school, but damn, they need to break that shit up for real. It's just gotten tedious, to be honest.

    • @joelkeeley793
      @joelkeeley793 4 роки тому +1

      peedub won’t deny it’s got its cliche sound, but smooth jazz has taken time to develop and I’ve truly enjoyed watching and listening to the early artists like Benson and Montgomery shape it from its roots, and then people like Norman and Ronny Jordan pioneer it. Boney James and Kenny G are very similar, but everyone is inspired by other musicians. I’ve never had a problem with artists sounding like other artists, that’s always gonna happen. As long as they are writing and endlessly perfecting their craft, eventually they will find their own unique sound and stand apart. Even Miles Davis in his early days sounded almost exactly like Freddie Hubbard, but look how he amazingly he pioneered jazz and found his own sound later on that now so many trumpet players mimic!
