have bought 3 shower heads thought something wrong with water line . till u pop up in my channel few hours ago. took that tiny rubber out OMFG its a shower gusher i should be out in 5 minutes not 25 mins. THANKS a million MATE !!
Pulled that sucker out with one quick yank with the needle nose pliers. Tremendous difference in the water pressure now! I can finally get my hair rinsed out good!
😂a few years ago I had a plumber in the house to fix a sink issue. Hey while you're here could you look at my shower? Low pressure. Anyway he takes the head off, says here's your problem right here and he proceeds to take a thin screwdriver and just jammed it up inside of there about 5 or 6 times destroying any of the screens in place and said that'll fix your problem. He put it back on and sure enough shower pressure was way better... Lol
Makes sense when you are on a well. My in-laws have the same issue with their upstairs shower. In the city with our water pressure, I actually installed a low flow because I don’t mind them at all.
THANK YOU!!! Going to try this with mine. I put in a new shower head not too long ago and I noticed the flow was terrible. I really think it is causing problems with my scalp. I have super thick hair and trying to get all the shampoo and conditioner out of my hair is difficult enough, but with less water flow it is nearly impossible. Trying this tomorrow!
Just bought a Chinese knockoff shower head wand for temporary use until I can refinish the bathroom this winter. - unlike the name brand shower heads, it's restrictor was extremely easy to remove. The name brand ones have a maze of restrictors and aerators, some which need to be preserved. Just keep in mind that if you have lots of pressure hitting you while showering, you'll get a mist that hits the shower walls and glass- and you may end up exposing a leak that otherwise was cloaked by the low-flow head (happened at our old house).
@@TaleofaWonderer I'm not familiar with that phrase but I'm guessing you agree with my suggestion? 🤔 It's what I do any chance i get. Finish a whole shower and tub and valve and new head for someone and they get like 3 oz of water per hour 🙃 nope, I rip that junk right out. Makes everyone so much happier. But I also include the simple valve at the head so you can take longer showers if that's what you want. Ideally I'd rip out the restriction and put a shower control assembly that has flow and temp control in its design but not always possible.
@@beerbeforebreakfast I don’t blame you sounds like a simple solution to a simple issue! The phrase is from “taryl dacter” it’s a UA-cam channel called Taryl Fixes All after every solution or remedy he always says “ and there’s your dinner”
@@TaleofaWonderer I've seen that dude suggested so many times but never watched a single video. You just got him a new subscriber I bet!. And I appreciate the explanation. Figured it was something like that! 🤣
Doc I had to laugh when you said Fiser lol. It’s a “price Fister” is how it’s pronounced. And that would be an Oring my friend. It would be instructional to see the flow prior to the removal and post removal for educational purposes. Just busting your chops Doc. Btw we are both Gawgions thanks for all the videos.

Heck, I have always had city water and do this every time I have a new shower head! Great demo!

Different head, but same solution. Thanks Doc!

Excuse my language but damn good hack doc it increased my water pressure big time. I would've never thought but it worked. Thanks....

Also, run the water without a shower head installed to ensure any pipe debris / pvc shavings can evacuate the line.
i just grab a micro screw driver and pried the whole restrictor out about 5 seconds thanks for the tip....
Rip it all out and add a adjustment valve in between shower head and threaded pipe. Amazon $10. Then you control the flow!
And there’s your dinner

Perforated
just pull the whole flow restrictor out
You can't
I always remove the whole thing
Same. Just take the whole thing (flow restrictor) out.
Thought it was only in California due to drought.
That is an o-ring.
I don't think it's the O ring that's ruining our showers. More like regulation.✌
I just did the same thing with new shower heads in our bathroom. Can you not just take out the whole mechanism which is what I did.
