- Abus 50mm 4 digit resettable combination padlock decoded using the Sparrows tool.
This example has a quirk, for some reason there is a second combination that releases the shackle 🤷♂️

I was quite surprised by the second code. I doubt it's meant to be that way, so it probably comes down to either damage or wear & tear 🤔

The combination can be changed by setting the correct code and then turning the screw on the base a quarter turn clockwise, entering the new code, and then returning the screw to its original position.
I was thinking the strange second code might be due to either physical damage to two of the wheels or maybe wear & tear 🤔

I found the second code by accident.
The last two wheels feel a bit different to the true code, so I wonder if it's just wear & tear on two of the wheels 🤔

There's definitely something not right going on inside. Either damage to the bottom two wheels or wear & tear.
I might try and split it open to see if there's anything interesting going on.
