Hey! The air creates pretty much the same amount of light and in a small space is ideal. You might want two to create a deeper look but I find a single air more than enough for a small studio.
Here in New York both lights were very hard to get. Even Amazon was out of stock for a long time. I ended up purchasing the Elgato Key Light Air from a local Electroics store. It fit my setup better. I find the Elgato Key Light Air very powerful. I can make my room completely dark and the Key Light Air could light me perfectly at 15% level on the app. Keep in mind my light is not to far from me. I place it like most a little past the monitor distance but mine is more off to the side. If you have a huge desk and you want to place in a more exotic location you might need to crank it up on power. All in all it is a great product. Thanks for the review Sean 👍👍
Hey CaptureLifeConnection! Glad to hear you found one in the end. It is strange how these stock holes appear!! Yes I agree, rarely need either panel much higher than 25%. Great point and thanks for sharing your experience, it will help others! Hope you are well!
Hey Keep On Coding! Thanks for taking the time to comment! The main key light uses a Neewer light stand with an adjustable tripod ball head. I find it easier to move around and create lighting angles as opposed to the one provided by Elgato. Hope this helps.
These are the ones I have been using. However, just need to ensure whichever you get has a thread on the top, not just the attachment for a softbox light. Hope it helps... smile.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07Q85F8XW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_ZQSMFPFK086N9WM9C5N9?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
@@Geeksvanathank you, yes. I have elgato key light and just added a ring light for a spot light but figuring out the right tripod without seeing turned out to be a hurdle and heavy base is sold out. Thanks again.
No problem! I found using a boom arm mounted on the wall is effective for a ring light with camera inside. Although it is fixed to the wall, it can offer a lot of flexibility and allows me to film within minutes, without setting up tripods etc.
Good review of both Elgato key lights, I use one of the large Elgato Key Lights which I bounce off a white wall in front of me which diffuses the light even further giving a very even shadow free light. 👍
Hey Peter Carroll! Thanks for taking the time to comment, I really appreciate it! That's a great idea, especially for people wearing glasses etc. Sure that will help others, thanks for sharing your experience!
Thank you for this video, it was a nice comparison of these two key lights, sure helped me know which I would get if I was going to purchase one. And as normal I really appreciate all the details/time you put into your videos, so professional! I hope you are doing well. Take care 💖
On the original Elgato light, can you buy the extra base? I know that you can for the Ring Light and I think that is kind of cool. So if you can unscrew the clamp on the original one and buy a base that could be quite nifty.
Hey Dussel York City Studios! The 1/4 connector at the bottom of the original key light panel fits most of my studio stands, so I generally use a Neewer one as this gives a lot of flexibility and means I am not restricted to only using it attached to a table via the clamp provided. Hope this helps and thanks for your comment!
just because we look the same doesn't mean you can muscle in on my manor stick to drones and leave the tech reviews to the master or i'll send the boys round...……… :-P
Honestly this is the only video I've ever seen of yours but you seem like such a nice dude that you've already got my sub.
Hey Thomas Atkins! Thank you. I really appreciate your kind words and support!
If choosing the air version do you recommend getting two or would just one do if working in a small space

@@Geeksvana Thanks!
By using only one key light (the larger one), is there not a risk of shadows? Do you always need two? Thank you
