I've had my mk6 golf R for nearly 8 years now. Best car I've ever owned and never had a problem with it either. All I've ever done is general maintenance when needed. It's seen tracks days and is my daily. Bought it with 90 000kms, it now has 210 000kms, tuned, etc. Will be upgrading to the 8.5 black edition when it comes out in Australia but I'll still keep my mk6. Too many memories to get rid of it.
I've got an r32 mk5 2009 dsg. In the same boat tbh. My options if I ever replace would probably be a golf 7.5 r or an rs4 avant b8. Rs3 also a good option. I don't think i will ever go back to rwd or fwd. Wet weather performance is just undeniable with quattro/4motion. I've driven and m2 and m3 and they are compromised, better performance but not better daily than a golf. In fact a fast golf is probably the best all round package you can buy.
Lovely cinematography with a chill vibe and a lovely 6R in Reflex Silver, not a common color (for this marque, at least). It sounds like you're talking yourself into keeping it...?!
I bought my first car, the Mk6 R, with a full stage 3 APR kit, it drives unbelievably well. I have been look at the M240i with the B58 engines, those sound incredible when you do just an exhaust change, and its so comfortable and quiet on the inside. The RS3 may sound good, but it does not inspire me to drive it.
If got a mk6 gti, imported from Japan so is rust free, I was so surprised how the import ones drive so smooth and good condition, if anyone is looking to buy a mk6 make sure it’s a Japan import they really are immaculate
Get a 7.5 r estate. Personally I prefer the 7r seeing as I have one lol I just feel the 7 looks more aggressive just a shame it doesn’t have the 7 speed dsg
@@wakaflockaprojectfor. Mpg yes I spend half my time on the m25 and get average 28-33 mpg doing 80mph most the time, the 7 speed you would be on 35-40mpg
@ won’t notice much with city driving. I no the 7 speed suffered with clonking from cold. My 6speed has been good to me so not to fussed about mpg had my mk7 r since it was a year n a half old and I love it, and like in the video what else do you get. I’m waiting for a Copart cat n mk6 r so I can 3.2 vrt it
Great video You have just described why a golf is a great all rounder and it’s hard to know what to replace it with. How about the golf mk7 R estate Thank you
Front or rear bumper? I can find out. I bought the rear bumper direct from Porsche and had to give them a vin number of a GT3 RS to get the order in motion
Great video l have had a mk5 Golf GTI for 10 years it’s been a big part of my life kids to school and university and my son has borrowed it the car is like my favourite pet 😂 l have an Audi S3 and a vw transport sport line l want a Porsche 911 997 but don’t have the space l am in the same situation what should l sell ? 😂 l do still love driving the GTI probably more then the S3 but the S3 feels newer manual and has a lot less miles a reason to keep the S3. l will say the Audi S3 boot space is smaller 2 suit cases don’t fit in easy and that will be the same for the golf R. But my golf gti Mk5 holds 2 suitcases easy one reason I want to keep it for the airport runs and plus it’s not worth much to anyone else as it’s worth a lot to me. if it’s boot space and performance then try a golf TCR or club sport. Or keep you golf R And buy a new Golf R build a collection 😂😂😂 great video keep them coming 👏🏽🤜🏽🤛🏾🥂
Auto trader, fb market place. I’ve got every single bill I’ve ever spent on it. Even the purchase bill from VW. It’s done 118k so I can’t really ask to much for it. I’m open to offers ☺️

VW really stuck the landing with the MK6. I’ve never heard anyone complain about it.
I’ve had a few hot Golfs and absolutely adore them, brilliant cars. I do wish they could be spec’d with roof bars tho for even more practicality 🤣

You hit the nail right on the head bro. MK7.5 with some nice simple mods will tick all the boxes.
Just took my 6R on a 1400 mile road trip, and i loved it. Had it for almost 3 years, and ive loved it everyday. Just crossed 150k miles.
They are so bullet proof.
Modern classic. Best engine in terms of reliability with the highest output EA113, & a bulletproof manual transmission.
I swear it's got another 100,000 miles in it.
Ive had a mk6 gti for 3 years running stage 2+ but collecting a 7.5 R estate this weekend! Cant wait
10 year ownership is wild, suprised u get guys who can do it😹😹got bored of mine after 2
I was just having to much fun to get rid of it. Even now it’s still a blast to drive.
Lovely cinematography with a chill vibe and a lovely 6R in Reflex Silver, not a common color (for this marque, at least). It sounds like you're talking yourself into keeping it...?!
haha I think I am. Honestly it's been the hardest decision to make.
What do you drive?

M240i seems to be the 'go to' hatch for power and practically. I might take a look at those as well.
Thanks
If you like the golfs, maybe consider a golf mk7.5 gti performance, tcr and clubsport 40
That’s a good idea. I do love the 4wd of the R
@@RollingSlowMediafwd is way more fun apart from the launches
I've got a polo gti 1.8 6c in pure white, it is just as sporty what you have now but more modern and it has a very good sound.
fantastic upgrade from R, is B9 S5.
Yes!.. those sound lovely as well.
My friend had mk2 cupra r same engine but fwd. it makes about 380bhp but its still reliable if looked after
You kept that car seriously clean
Thanks.
It gets pretty dirty being my daily driver

@@afella29 nice, I haven't noticed much difference with my 7 speed with normal city driving. Felt like the old 6 speed was more responsive in D

How about the golf mk7 R estate
Thank you
It’s a nice idea but to close to a RS4. But I’ll defo consider it.
Thanks
How much did your golf r set you back in 2013 ?
I paid £18,000
Has this sold already mate? Also great video!
Mate you have Kids who go uni...😮 you look so young brudda!
Haha yeah. And next year I’ll be using the Golf to take my 18 year old to uni (if I keep it)
Not going to lie such a good looking car
Would have one but a fat boot is required lol
keep it
Hi Trevor.. I was just wondering if you knew the code for the factory fitted aero kit .. on your 997 thanks Lewis
Front or rear bumper?
I can find out.
I bought the rear bumper direct from Porsche and had to give them a vin number of a GT3 RS to get the order in motion
@ thanks for the reply.. no I was trying to find the code to clarify the kit was put on from factory and not added at a later date .. 👍
Estate 7.5R

Is the Ad live for this ?
Hi, how much are you looking to sell the 6r?
Not sure yet. I’ll check prices this week. I’m open to offers
5 pot engine swap as another guy said, or get a mk5 r32 in good condition and turbo the 3.2L V6 in that car (I’ve seen them make 1000hp)
5 pot swap is defo I great idea.
I'm wondering how difficult that will be.
I'd need a crashed RS3/TTRS to start with.
Why not do a 5pot engine swap
Now that’s a good idea.
It could be a channel project. 🤔
I’ll seriously think about that.
I don’t think you can go wrong with a Porsche macan
Alfa Romeo Guila Quadrifoglio all day long
Would of said focus rs mk3 but to expensive unless u fancy a change that much there rapid even stock uncle has one good value for money
I'm not a Ford fan but I do rate the Focus RS.. Lovely car.
Are you talking about the 2.5 engine?
❤❤❤❤❤
Nah, tuned 4x4 Skoda Yeti is your true Ultimate Daily Driver. Absolutely go anywhere! Your Golfs can’t do beach sand or rutted gravel roads.
Look at a mk7 golf r estate at least get the practicality
M140i
Not a bad idea.
Power and practicality.
Just not a big fan of the look of the M140i
Maybe a M2 and just compromise on space for a while
7 is better
They are. VW sold loads with great finance deals.
😂😂 bet you weren't expecting that response
Far too common, only 800 mk 6 R’s were sold in uk apparently.
