I had a 7 gti and then a 7.5 r. Within an hour of picking it up I noticed it was cheaper inside with cheaper plastics and missing storage .
@@RANDA11FLAGG shit thats sad.. im still debating over a 6 or 7 for daily. Love the interior in the 7, but something about the 6 pulls me towards it. Like he said, 7 is simply a gorgeous car but 6, imo, is much better looking in someway, i dont even know. 😵💫

Always preferred the mk6, got a lot of bad press at the time going from 3.2 to a 2.0ltr.

Great video!!! After almost 2 years i still enjoy my mk6 r20 every day! Its got 400hp. That's all the speed you need and its pretty reliable plus it looks stunning while doing it.

Love how these look. Great engine with plenty of potential for tuning insane figures even by today's standard when Stage 2+. Got a MK6 GTI back in 2020 after watching your review from back then, has been an epic daily!
I prefer the 7.5 r but I do see the fascination with owning the mk6 r as they are less common on the road and its good to be different (and them seats)
Nice to see a mk6 getting a positive review I own a edition 35 stage 2 with tvs stage 3 tcu software. It’s just cost me a small fortune having a new box fitted and some preventive maintenance carried out. Never the less I love the thing and it puts a smile on my face every time I take her out. I definitely think it would make a good comparison video between the two 👌🏻

It remember getting a phenomenal deal on a 2015 Golf R Mk7 lease from factory. £160pcm, 10k mileage, £2.2k deposit. Don’t see those deals very often!

These are like gold dust...you just dont see them... VERY RARE.....love the styling....deffo an over looked hot hatch which will prob lead to it being a collectors future classic....

Golf 6R as well as 8p RS3 are same generation top-spec cars that are pretty rare because they tested the waters at that period. The result is in the number of 7R and 8v RS3 produced - they're everywhere
We have a mk6 3dr but although we have done the mods it's not that work of art . Great review and those seats are amazing
They’re stock R brakes painted and stickers up , the MK7 R calipers are lighter, have a larger piston and a larger pad so are better all round.
Saw this on the net 6 weeks ago and noticed it was at binca. So was eagerly anticipating a review. Need to sell my cars and hope it’s still available 😁

Love my MK6 and newer models just haven't inspired me enough to change.
It's the best looking Golf in my opinion but owning one probably makes me biased some would say but then if I thought the newer ones looked better surely I'd have upgraded 🤣

I had my 911 sc serviced at Parker and Parker in Kendal in 1994 and it cost 700 quid lol.Watching your vids as my cherished 206 GTi 180 has just been written off and the Mk 6 is my next goal.Nice content cheers.

Standard callipers mate, just Porsche stickers, mk6 r/s3 8p/mk2 cupra platform cars are 345mm disks on front, mk7 r/ s3 8v brakes are smaller at 340mm on the front and the callipers are actually slightly smaller mate
I currently have a MK6 GTI for the daily and a MK6 R for the weekends
I also have a mk6R with 350hp and 490nm and it is so awesome to drive and 4 me it‘s also the best looking Golf. Congrats!
Ordered my Blue 6R new with Factory Recaro Seat's I'm disabled so don't pay the VAT,spunked what I saved by speccing the Seat's, no regrets great car's 👍 leave them at Stage 2+ that's the sweet spot 💕
The mk6 look banging in red or the blue colour, but best looking r imo is the 7.5
wiper deletes also baffle me...I like to see out of my windows. No amount of rain X will prevent muck and water on a rear window.
Looks better than Mk7 in my opinion. Probably cause I owned a mK6
dope cars just keep some cam followers on hand and you be good to go miss mine a bit, also the last center exhaust R which looks sick.

I absolutely agree with you on the rear wiper being deleted! I'll take functionality over asthetics all day. To me it's one of the perks with having a hatchback car.

I had my heart set on a silver MK6 R before it sold and i ended up in a S3 8V. Great looking cars. For sure want to own one eventually
Second your opinion. The MK6 is probably my favourite Golf especially when they have the LED head and tail lights. Centre exhausts make it even sweeter. Shame it's only up to a year newer than my current car otherwise it would be a contender for my next car

Hello mate! American with mk6 gti, CHECK your oil coolers all around, they will leak after making power. I didn't pay attention to min under the manifold and ran the car low on oil and windowed the block. That being said rebuilding it now and can't wait to have it again. Also if it's before a 13 replace the chain tensioner. Do a trans service and replace the pcv. Also check your mounts and make sure theyre solid still! Enjoy the mk6. Love my gti 🤍
This with the Phone dial 'Monza' wheels 🤌 looks amazing. I liked this generation more than mk7. Love the rounded aspect. It doesn't look dated like the mk5. The mk5 now is a very dirt cheap car and looks very old but this is the best golf r.

Love the mk6, my favourite personally. Would be difficult to choose between that or an edition 35 (feel they are even rarer)
Love the Mk6, not as good as the Mk5 nor the Mk7, but still one of the best. I feel it’s the middle brother. The 5 was so good and a return to form + the 7 was a ridiculous step forward the 6 is almost forgotten

Those are standard mk6 brakes, the calipers are bigger than the mk7, and the discs, 345 as opposed to 340 on the mk7. Even though they are bigger, the mk7 brakes are far superior out the box

Swap the wheels from the Golf 7 R to the 6 i think it will look better...
In Germany noone really takes GTIs and Rs seriously. The fact alone that so many people drive Golfs makes people numb to the appearance. They're solid cars but cannot be considered a looker since they are so prevalent on the streets.

I recently bought a low milage mk6 r & i love it. Deffo rare, last i saw there was about 350 on the road registered in the UK

The 6 never sold well as we was coming out of a recession, vw didnt offer finance packages like they did with the 7 and 7.5. .
Love the mk6 R front bumper it’s also my fav. The engine less so over the mk7 as it can give issues in the mk6. We’re wingbacks an option on a mk7 clubsport S?
I owned this car from about 2018 till this year, absolutely loved it. Was sad to have let it go

yooo guys...I have found a Golf R 2013, manual, modified to 320 HP with 80.000 miles and is overall looking great. They are asking 16,999€ for it in Germany. Of course german car with german previous owner. What do you think? Is the price alright?
Quality motor! Best looking Golf by an absolute mile. Owned a grey 6R for nearly 4 years and at Stage 2+ was hugely capable. Still prefer the 5 door though!

Thing is Mk6 chassis isn’t amazing, grip grip then understeer.
Mk7 chassis is much better accomplished. Not sure why you’d get a mk6 over a mk7 to be honest other than exclusivity but it’s still a golf, not like it’s a last run Ferrari special.

How anyone think the 7/7.5 r looks better than a mk6 r is crazy! I’ve had two 6r’s and looking for another one, The styling of every golf since the 6 hasn’t done anything for me at all. They leave me cold just like 98% of super modern cars.

Not sure about silver, become very popular during the Golf IV era. Apart from Golf IV and some Mercs C and CDI from that era, any other car on silver is not that appealing to me. Great motor tho, love the seats too.
