I think with your comment about wanting a good 1-4x lpvo you would really like the "VX-3HD 1.5-5x20 CDS-ZL Illum. FireDot Twilight Hunter". Great light weight scope and very simple.
This is one of the most important topics and best discussion that we could have. I'm opinionated. So buy FFP or nothing. Arken has a great LPVO with FFP at a great price. It's not a Razor but you won't miss a target just because you're not using a Razor. For my money, the Vudu is sexy, clear, tough, FFP and I'd buy 10 if I could afford them. They're all 10-10.4 in. My 300 BO platforms are all 9 in or shorter. So the optic is longer than the barrel. Pls Arken, Vortex, Eotech, get us a 7 in LPVO for Christmas. I won't ask for anything else . . . in 2024. Well, that and a less busy Arken LPVO reticle and more 7 PRC ammo choices.
I love my NF NXS 1-8, FFP. my favorite LPVO for all around hunting, plinking, competing, only drawback is that as a typical NF scope, they have a very unforgiving eyebox.
Agreed, for a country boy with an Oklahoma education, like me, the first focal plain is what I’ve gone with just so if I do use hold overs there is less thinking and making sure I’m on the max magnification.
Love my lpvos. Id also like to see companies focus on taking the lower mag ones (4/6x) and getting them down in weight and size.. like 6" instead of 10" and 10oz instead of 17-20oz. SFP, simple reticles and "affordable." Whatever that means. We might be dreaming tho Wade!
There is no need to make a low power optic in first focal plain. They are to be quick on target. I have both 1 st, and 2nd focal plain. For fast target accusition 2nd is the way to go. No fidling around.
I don’t think any LPVO should be FFP as you will be on the highest magnification when you are shooting further. Everything lower then max won’t need an accurate bullet drop because your bullet isn’t dropping enough to matter.
Sure depending on the platform. I run lpvo on all 6 arc 16”, 14.5 , and 12.5 , unless I intend on doing something special with it. 8x and 10x are my favs.
1-6 VX 6HD SFP a 1-6 SigSauer tango 6 FFP. and a 1-8 Nightforce NX8 FFP. All illuminated and the center illuminated horseshoe on the NX8 looks like a red dot on lower power settings.
Swampfox makes a ffp 1-6 called the warhorse, havnt tried that one but i love both the arrowhead and tomahawk 1-8s, at 1x power they feel like just a straight up red dot to me, plenty of eye relief and big eye box (arrowhead is slightly better but honestly not very noticable to me) and at 8x its still super easy to get lined up. I used to have a red dot and 3x magnifier but i dumped that the moment i tried an lpvo
So a good, hunting focused lpvo or the new viper hd 2-10? For my sig cross 16” 308 and we’re talking 200 yard absolute max but 100 yards and in more likely. South Georgia whitetail/hog/coyote
@@txpredatorhunting what’s a couple you would recommend? Simple reticle and center dot type illumination. I used my strike eagle 1-8 last year on my ar308 took a few deer with it and it did the job well but something better for the cross would be nice
I picked up a 1-4x24 FFP at an auction for about $15 - It's probably only worth that much in the end. Never heard of the company, but it works okay. It is made by AIM Sports XPF
@@taylormartin4346 LOL I had no idea!!! Looks like I am better off with iron sights. That does surprise me though...it's just as heavy duty as some of my other scopes.
Been running lvpo's since before they were cool. We do a lot of deer drives, got my first 1-4 20+ years ago. People used to make fun of it, the same guys are now running them.
@txpredatorhunting tried the magnified red dot fad on my AR. Fuuuck that. Unless you are doing a combat thing shooting passive with NV, I don't know why anyone would want a dot the size of a damn pumpkin when magnified.
I have multiple LVPO's both in the first and second Focal Planes . I can't honestly think of a situation where First is ideal. It is 100% my choice on mid power variable Scopes. 4-14 4-16 3-18. But in the low second just makes more since. If I need hold overs I'm going to be on 6, 8 or 10 power anyway. I'm running Vortex Leopold and Recently Primary Arms. I'm really starting to love the Primary Arms Chevron reticle it is very east to finely adjust my Zero. I'm also a MOA guy because I'm to American to think in Mills. I'm also 200 yard Zero guy. I know i know shut up Boomer. 😅
Ya know what I own all of the above and the rifle I carry with me when I go to Desoto forest is a 20 inch AR with Trijicon Iron Sights that glow at night. That way I'm not coyote food if I say break my ankle and my cell phone is not working. The 20 inch barrel makes an emergency crutch as well. The main reason I carry the 20 iron sight gun is that is is lightweight.
That is a good little underrated scope. Potentially my favorite lpvo for hunting from them. Size , weight, reticle . It’s fairly appropriate for a hunting lpvo for close range stuff.
DANG OL BOBCAT on my trail camera here in NW Indiana in town in my back yard , ya'll chasing them up this way ? DAMN LIBERALS making it tough to be a good ol boy ! stay tuned for dispatch story ! LPVO in use
I hate all of them, have it in my head that I “need” a ATACR 1-8 for my stubby little bolt build…I’m probably just gonna pawn one of my kids on the dark web real quick first 🤷♂️😂
As always, thanks for watching! Be sure and go getcha a t shirt.

For night hunting with red lights 2 nd focal plain low power works.
I run an eotech 1-10 vudu. Love it!
Great lpvos in my opinion.
Your 1-4x is a red dot on an ACOG 🤙🏼
I’ll talk about those in the future. I’m just not a huge fan of those myself. I want more eye relief. Don’t need 5,236 yards field of view. 😂

My Primary arms 1-6 is a ffp. Not a crazy fan of the reticle though.
Would a 6arc AR build warrant a lpvo optic for coyotes only?
Sure depending on the platform. I run lpvo on all 6 arc 16”, 14.5 , and 12.5 , unless I intend on doing something special with it. 8x and 10x are my favs.

Do LPVO’s work well with moving shots versus a larger scopes?
I’m make the argument for upclose work they are superior.

Aim Sports is an airsoft brand my friend. I wouldn't rely on it for anything remotely serious

Nice! Not chasing cats yet, soon …
Swampfox warhorse 1-6 ffp
I am in the market for a LPVO.
Still working on it,,,
Have you ran the Monstrum Panzer FFP ?
I have not.
1x6 Nova in 300blk is perfect for 350 legend.
Nice
1-6 Aurora for 556. Also have a Nova for 556. Both are fantastic
It’s LibRary Wade!!!!🙄🤦♂️ Lol

Fact. 😂

I don’t use em cause I have done hit geezer status and can’t see the GD reticle. Gonna need a fuckin Hubble telescope before long.

Pretty sure you wear Depends.
