Hot moist air condenses when it is approaching the roof. The dryer can’t push air that far and through so many bends, which are acting like a distillation tube. Hot at the bottom, cool towards the top = condensation and drips.

I thought for sure it was gonna be caused by the 2 bends in the pipe in the attic. They need a strong dryer to get the air moved that far!

Those bends shouldn't be there. They should have went straight up through the roof.

They definitely don't help! I'll be changing that after the machine gets repaired... Where are you watching from? Thanks for watching and for your comment!

    Great explanation!

Uhhhh... why didn't they run the vent line straight up through the roof instead of going horizontal across the attic? No bueno!

I KNOW! That area of the home was an addition done around 5 years ago. Needless to say, there wasn't much planning, or thinking for that matter involved.... I reached back out to homeowner and I'll be rerouting the vent after the machine itself gets repaired. Thanks as always, Bob! I appreciate ya!

Silly question, but wouldn’t a vent booster also work?
Even just using napkin math, that’s 10ft for the two 90s and maybe more like another 10 for the 120 or whatever they’re doing with that bit before it goes out to the roof.
Look like around 40 feet of pipe accounting for elbows. I think most dryers want 25 or less. So I’m not sure the dryer is the problem.

Great question. Booster fans can be detrimental to the performance of the system... Mainly because the fan blades eventually get hung up due to lint gathering. You're basically installing a huge lint catcher in the duct system. Thx for watching and hope that makes sense!

That 120 degree bend in the duct is a CFM killer!

Looks like builders wanted to use up all the extra vent pipe they had. 😂

HAHA! That's my guess as well! Thx for watching!

Looks like a stupid setup to me. Dryers here where l live have the filters in the dryers. You pull the cover off and clean it. It's a lot simpler than what you have to do there. Why was that pipe not installed straight up and down?

Definitely the only place one should be in the entire system!!! If the vent is exiting the roof, it has to turn somewhere to match the pitch of the roof. A dryer vent is a bit different than your plumbing vent penetrations. Hopefully that helps and thx for watching!
