I haven't made a burbot video yet. We spent this year learning how to catch burbot first. Maybe next year... I never thought about using them for kokanee either until last year. I hooked a kokanee with them while targetting lakers.
Have you tried using a dodger and a small jig or fly like ice fishing? I had pretty good luck with that last year jigging a dodger with a tungsten head bloodworm I tied. Cool to see they will go after the big stuff like buzz bombs. I will have to give that a try next time.
I have tried my ice fishing gear, yes. It works, but I found I was not able to get down quick enough with a lighter presentation. Give it a try and you'll love using buzz bombs.
Treble hooks are allowed depending on the lake you are fishing. Check the BC Freshwater fishing regulations for the rules and lake specific regulations.
I have a few different sizes, but I've been using my smaller jigs. I believe they are the 1 and 1/8oz jigs as seen in my product review video. Here's the video: ua-cam.com/video/HkvIsL461PA/v-deo.html
Might have to try this! Thanks Ben!
You won't be disappointed.
Jig fishing for kokanee is only going to get better as we get closer to spawning season
Thanks for teaching me this technique.
I'm glad you like it. I hope you are successful when you try it.
Did I miss the Burbot video? Never thought to try these for Kokanee. That's awesome!

oh my
What size of Maruto hook would you put on a 5/8oz Big Nasty? Also it looked like a treble hook yes ?
I'll have to check on that. It's been a while since I changed the hooks out. Yes, it was a treble hook.
Are treble hooks allowed in BC? I thought they were banned.

If I remember right they are approximately $10 each maybe less.
Shipping for me was like $50
