As a beginner I've been looking everywhere to find an up to date tutorial on iMovie and this is perfect. I agree you have an excellent way of teaching and I can't wait to put theory in to practice. Thank you so much!
I'm new to iMovie and though I'll have to watch this many more times it's exactly what I need to get me going. I cannot recommend it highly enough. It's excellent. Well put together and clear.
Thank you so much! Since my teenage son moved out I have been iMovie challenged. You were very clear and easy to understand. Loved how simple you made it!
I watched several other videos on this same topic and came away empty handed. It may just be that I'm dense. But your explanations were clear and thorough. I didn't absorb it all on the first pass, but I'll watch it again, then try to replicate what you're doing on my own project. It was an excellent presentation, and I'm grateful to you for all the effort you put into it and your willingness to share your knowledge.
Thanks so much for making this video. I have tried using iMovie several times before and given up because it seemed too complicated. Your directions were concise and well illustrated, just what I needed! You've opened up a whole way of teaching for me!
I'm a teacher and I learn a lot here. At first my colleague told me I couldn't use IMOVIE to do a good channel. But now I think I can do a better one after learning from Teacher's Tech. THANKS!
I just bought a MacBook Pro after using a Windows laptop. I have zero experience with iMovie, so your video was super helpful for us beginners! Thanks so much! I'll probably watch this a few times so I can get it down.
I searched and tried to read so many things and saw other videos, and then I found you, @Teacher's Tech and I am so glad I did. This little project I'm working on (for curiosities sake and learning) has become a lot easier with you at the helm. Thank you!!
Thanks! I learned quite a bit. The only thing missing for this total iMovie beginner is I’d have liked to see how all of it comes together with clips, sound, photos and transitions.
Thanks so much. I have sooooo many motorbike travel videos and had no idea what to do with them. This will definitely get me started. Thanks so much for your time to help people like me who have no idea.
Oh WOW! I'm an absolute beginner and this was very, VERY HELPFUL!! super easy to follow and I just love your voice- very calm and clear. Thank you SO much for the video!!

You are great. You have an Excellent way of teaching. You have all great qualities to be a great youtuber, a great teacher. Thanks, Bye. See you again.
Nice job. Lot's of info but you presented in such a way that I can pick and choose what is most important to me at any given time. Good approach for us newbies.
This is GREAT!! Thank You , Thank You, Thank You!! This is the BEST UA-cam Tutorial ever! Clear, concise, simple,. Free of a lot of extraneous comments about yourself. (Millennials, you know who you are!).
Wow! You are REALLY GOOD at this! I watch many instructional videos and this is one of the best I've seen. Simple. Concise. Not overwhelming. Good pacing. Well done!
Thank you for this video. Please can you explain how to insert sound effects and where to click to get the cutaway icon.......I am struggling on both fronts. Thanks. Nicky
At the top above your imported clips, click Audio. Then on your left side of the screen click Sound Effects. Drag the sound fx you want to the bottom of your timeline. For the Cutaway/Picture in Picture. Put your clip on top of the original video clip. Then select the top clip. Go to the icons above the viewer window and look for the icon that looks like 2 boxes. That is your "cutaway/picture in picture" icon. Click that icon and you can move or resize your clip anywhere on the original video or just make it a simple cutaway. I hope this is the answer you were looking for. Let me know. I'M A NEW CHANNEL! PLEASE CHECK IT OUT! SEE IF IT'S FOR YOU! THANKS! More videos coming soon!
We had to make a movie very short notice for one of our teaching classes- this was super helpful and helped me make an awesome video! Thank you so much!

Thanks for a clear, concise tutorial! I've been using ScreenFlow for years to edit my videos, but the latest upgrade has done some buggy things, so I wanted to finally try to figure out iMovie. A Mac user for 25+ years, I just never used it and it confused the heck out of me. Your tutorial has got me up and running! Thanks!
Great beginner video, this was just what I was looking for. Great job and thank you! This got me making videos right after. P.S....what could possibly have been wrong to not "like" this video? Common people.
Thanks for the videos very informative. I have a question about the topmost timeline. If I have to images and I want to add another one in between the two images and I drag and drop it either clips them or replaces them how can I stop that from happening?

Very good video. I have a specific question which was not addressed. I am a musician and I have a 52 minute video that I have chopped up into 6 clips for each of the 6 tunes we played. I want to save them each separately to Dropbox and then use them as needed. I have already saved the ENTIRE video, but how do I save each individual clip to without saving the entire 52 minute video again. I need a step by step since I'm new to iMovie. Thanks in advance.
