This is the same thing but more scary, because AI can do anything. From making a well edited video to making music beats which artists can use to playing a game better than some of the most skilled and dedicated players. The future is scary and bleak

If AI becomes the norm, I will probably fall into a depression. The films and shows and games and videos that we all grew up with are all important when it comes to entertainment and enjoyment. I wanna be an animator. I can't really survive as an animator if AI is making the cartoons in the future. AI should not progress, and we should maybe just not continue with it. Keep it the way it is, because not really anyone wants it to be the thing that directs and makes stuff. It's not only scary but damaging. If AI becomes smart, it has a good chance of over ruling us. In this day and age, that's not just a fictional concept. It could actually happen.
Fr one of the things I was planning to be in the future was an artist but I’m just thinking what’s even the point when there’s already AI making AI art and if anyone’s actually going to be interested in seeing hand drawn or painted artwork anymore.
I firmly believe AI does not belong in the creative space. The whole point of being creative is a form of self expression, to put something out there that is fundamentally yours. If we cheapen that, bring in machines and say they replace people, then what is even the point? Whenever someone creates something, when they write, make art, there is a fundamental emotion that can get poured out into the work. If AI art got to the point where you could just write in something and get it, then I ask at the same time, why would you!? If art doesn't need you to exist, then at the same time it loses value to make it your passion. Creativity is incredibly important, not just for others entertainment but as it has been proven time and time again that having a creative outlet can do wonders for mental health. But then to spit in those people's face, call them old news, say that they're being replaced? Callous at BEST. I consider myself a writer, even if an amateur hobbyist with it. I have been slowly building my ideal content/universe piece by piece for most of my life. For someone to come in and say I wasted my time and machines are the new creators...it is disheartening. AI content is fundamentally emotionally dead. We do not need machines to be creative in lieu of humans. All the problems machine learning could be solving and we're using it to spit in the face of people that have been the lifeblood of entertainment for everyone. Think it's unfair to have to pay an artist for their skill they spent their whole life honing? Well then I guess we don't need programmers. I guess we don't need mathematicians. To people that think it is okay to replace artists, I ask, where does it stop? What job will AI have to start replacing for you to care, because it will come.
@@alwaysamongdragons7354 Technology has always replaced jobs. It kinda sucks, but that's how we progress as a society. AI art won't stop human creativity. You may not be able to profit off your creativity anymore, but that doesn't stop you from being able to express it. Supporting AI art is not "spitting in those people's faces". AI content is not "fundamentally emotionally dead".
AI as a whole, Artificial Intelligence, is such a cool topic though. it takes so much coding and programming knowledge and skill. as an artist as well, I don’t believe it’s being used for the right things as far as media is concerned. AI should stick to being used for robotics and advancements in society to better lives, not for the entertainment value.
As an artist, I think AI art can be super problematic. It’s unfair that I spent 12 years of my life building up my art style just for someone to upload it to an AI, and just put me out of my passion.
Very true, I agree with you, but people like me, millions of people all around the world still want to see human made art, not art generated by an AI with no mistakes and no real passion behind it as I said in my comment, I love ai and will support it always, but I do agree and accept that tons of people don't want it around
Think about it this way- in the future, AI will be the norm and anything made by humans will get all the attention, since less people will be doing it. Hell, may not be the case, but I see that happening with the way things are going now. Fuck AI, cheers!
As an artist with diagnosed GAD as well as undiagnosed ASD, planning on going into art for college and career, AI scares the sht out of me. My options for livelihood already seem limited, and knowing that something I can actually enjoy and live for can be overridden by a computer that immediately generates what a consumer would want. It’s terrible. I would guess the way that it would go in the future would be to put restrictions on the use of AI in art forms. Art contains hundreds of thousands of careers and talents. It sucks to see that becoming less and less valuable.
Went to art school before all this AI crap hit the scene. Study the philosophy of art while you're there, and you'll find some very strong arguments to stand on against AI "art." It doesn't fit the definition of art, is derivative by nature, and wouldn't even exist without human artists. People will come to realize that as more speak up. The layman doesn't understand the difference between art and imagery, but it will become common knowledge as the debate continues and more educated artists chime in.
I enjoy messing with ai for stupidity (for example, doug dougs ai videos) but trying to use it to replace humans anywhere doesn't work and shouldn't be allowed
The good news about this AI stuff is that the Supreme Court ruled that AI generated art cannot be coppyrighted. So, if this follows through to other AI content, it would be a bit of a deterrent for major studios to try and create AI movies. Regulation is probably going to be the best solution here and it seems like they're at least taking steps to kind of mitigate. I would imagine this ruling extends to existing copyrights. Hopefully.
considering the AI programs have been proven to be fed copywrited works/actual art pieces to form the styles, yeah I don’t think they can be copywrited when they’re doing the copying 😂
@@SuspicionsLurkInDarknessFr like at this point what’s the point of humans even having jobs when robots are just going to be doing everything at this point

But here's the thing about this AI will more than likely fall off faster than it started. I've seen this with every trend and what people like. iPhones are a great example, when we see something better we'll move and drop what we had. It happens with Social media platforms and movies. If it gets picked up fast it'll drop just as quickly. Sooner or later people are gonna get bored of AI. Just my two cents
@@spunspoup yes, I see your point, but I feel that ai is bigger than these standard trends, the ability to create a computer with human level intelligence or greater, is something that will only grow and improve, ai is just in its infancy, and look at what is possible already

Not that his content was great to begin with and he'll lose subs because of the big change but there's gonna be new hoards of kids right around the corner ready to jump on board.
@@shinobi6497 yea I see that. While AI can have human intelligence it can't copy or convey the emotion and passion people have for what they do ig. I feel AI can only go so far, and it can only last so long. Soon we'll just chuck it and leave it behind. And if we don't. I think human made things will be valued more than they used to.
@@spunspoupto add to your point, there will always be love and hate in any genre. Maybe ai will become a genre of entertainment while others will still exist. Which is why I’m personally not afraid of ai(I’m more disgusted by it). But it’s nice to know that human-made shows and movies and entertainment still exist and are successful.
What bothers me most about AI is the fact it's taking the place of creative endeavors. I always imagined AI doing more of the menial jobs, allowing current laborers to be able to pursue more passion based employment. Instead, it seems like eventually that *only* jobs for people will be the menial, labor intensive but low payout jobs. That's the saddest part. AI and robotic technology could be used to allow us to expand ourselves, follow our true passions and interests. If used like that it would encourage and reward going to college, being a scientist or an artist or a geologist ectect. Thats what I wanted at least
Okay yeah, but realistically AI will NEVER be able to menial task like labour: software can't plant a tomato without extremely complex hardware, which would need to be maintained by people (can't maintain a machine with another machine). That's just to plant tomatoes. Much less harvest, wash, and package them. Then multiple that by EVERY species of agricultural plant. The ONLY way AI can be profitable is if it can replace more ephemeral aspects of human life accurately
It's funny how much AI subverts our expectations, but it's also sad. I actually disagree with scottbuck 1572 though. While it's not currently feasible, I think at this point ruling anything out as something AI can't do is just silly after seeing how much it's done in the past few years despite everyone's expectations. What I fear is that eventually humanity will be left with nothing to do other than to consume. How will we be able to compete with a machine that can create work in a shorter period of time with lower maintenance and can work 20/47?
I see ai as an Pandoras box, once you create and advance it there is no going back only going forward instead. Its something that should be regulated in my personal opinion due to the chaos it caj inspire in the near future as it advances further.
Love your videos and I agree with the idea that we should stop or limit AI’s abilities to do things that will harm us later on down the road and I think we are going to follow what happened in many movies where Ai has more positives that we can’t see the negatives.
I’m an avid anti-AI art person. As an artist I hate it, it steals other artists artwork and meshes them to create its own. Not only does it steal art, it also puts really good, hard working artists who do commissions out of work. 🤷🏼♀️
As an aspiring writer who currently writes as a hobby, I find the whole AI discussion quite scary. I believe for most artists, whether it be drawing, painting, literature, etc., holds some sort of, well, humanity. If in around 10 years or so AI takes over art as a whole all I could really say (at best) would probably be "Wow, it looks consistent compared to other AI art."" The only thing I can somewhat tolerate as of now are AI OCs (except for Kwebbelkop's AI model. It's one of the most uncanny AI creations I've ever seen.)
AI is definitely useful, but as a person who likes to write stories I believe it should stay out of creative spaces. Chat GPT stories already easily rival mine and its kinda annoying to see a story you've spent hours on get blown out of the water by an AI.
But why do you find it scary? I don't get why people seem so scared. If artists, writers, etc, cannot be replaced by ai, then why are you so fucking scared? Embrace it, and adapt to the new technologies. I'm a programmer, ai has made my job 20x easier. Why bother going to get a background photo off of google which might be copywriten when you can just generate some scenery to put as the background of you drawing? You can use things such as Phind to ask writting based questions too.

Yeah, there's a debate about this in the crochet community. ChatGPT can create free patterns of anything you can ask for, and some people sell those patterns (or finished products from those patterns). Of course, there are a lot of mistakes in these- like not including the ears on a crocheted bunny- but when those mistakes can be fixed? I'm afraid no one will want to use their own brain for such a creative hobby. My thoughts? As long as you're using it for personal use, do whatever you want, none of my business. Hell, if someone goes "hey I generated this cool pattern from an ai, you can use it for free!" that would be okay too. It's when people start selling those ai generated things that it becomes a problem, since it takes away the value of what someone created by themselves. I'd like to hear anyone else's take on this! I'm glad the ai issue is being talked about.
as digital artist hanging around in art platform all the time I couldn't agree more, AI product being post every day starting as "hobby", then posting hundred of it every hours casue "people ask for more", then suddenly it become "I generated sooooo good, now you have to pay me" ????

But as soon as all of these Ai genorators came out less and less people asked for comissions which is really getting me concerned for my future making me reconsieder whether of not I should try to find a new job or try to stick with art. I personally look at ai as a genre of entertainment. And like any other genre, there will always be people who love it and hate it, but others will still exist at the same time. I’m not a big fan of ai, but knowing that there’s still content out there that’s being made by humans that people are enjoying is comforting to me
With AI. I am slightly split. I find using AI art generators to be fun to use and see what you can make but it will take away artists jobs. There are things in the world that take time and effort to learn and do. With AI, that can be done in minutes. I agree with the duck on this one. Technology is good where it is right now. Let creativity live longer. Because if you can make AI do anything, creativity will most likely die eventually.
I think the worst part is when video evidence for crimes and court cases can either no longer be used (because it could be fake) or when innocent people are going to be wrongfully charged for a crime they didn't commit because someone gave AI a prompt to create fake video evidence.
I’m fairly optimistic about AI at the moment. In my eyes, it’s not taking away anyone’s livelihood, it’s giving other less experienced people and people with less resources to create something. Using art as an example, the use of AI means that literally anyone can get hold of art without being dependent on having the skills to make it themselves or having the money to commission art from a professional.
Yeah screw taking the time to learn a skill. All the hard work and sacrifices artist do to master there skill just yo be replaced by a 13 year old and 5 seconds to type a promt
August says that ai hasn’t advanced enough and can only do voiceovers but like... there was an ai spongebob channel generating full ass spongebob episodes and presumably animating them im real time too(though rather poorly)
This isn't a joke. AI can take over ANY job. Nobody will make money besides companies that use AI. And with that, homeless people will SKYROCKET. The government could give everyone money for food and their "lifestyle" they had before AI. But I can imagine that also has some drawbacks.
as an artist, i think AI art is toxic for art culture, but people are thinking of it as stealing art and mashing up ideas or whatever, which i can support to an extent, but i think its worth displaying it as an achievement so keeping it around for historical reasons i feel is okay. also you can use it to generate reference photos for faster art, ngl ive always wanted to try it but i dont personally support ai art 100%.
I'm an artist as well and I've messed around with AI art one or twice and felt really guilty about it. It's kind of cool but it also doesn't really feel the same and it's hurting artists. I refuse to use AI writing or AI art.
I can see the argument for it "stealing" arts but even then I think its week. How do you think humans learn nowadays to do art and where do you think they get their inspiration from? Lets not pretend their imagination was perfect off the spot and they self learnt drawing, painting etc with nothing to reference. AI is literally the same process that a human goes through when making art just better and faster. You cant stop progression. I love AI art.
I genuinely never want AI to improve more than it has been. The idea of Artificial intelligence taking over art is terrifying to me as an aspiring animator. Live a tion interpolation and other things are incredible for AI, but making art that wasnt created by a human? That is terrifying to me.
As a digital artist myself, IMO AI art should be completely banned. No matter if art is used with permission or not in AI art, it takes away a lot of artist’s income. The only way I could see it POSSIBLY working is if the artist who’s art is being used in AI art is paid by the hour for every art piece and is given commissions every time a user uses the generator to generate art. To do that though, free AI art would be no more because the company would need to charge the consumer of the product to be able to pay the producer. Hence the stealing art :/
This video was a bit darker then I thought it would be. In my opinion, I think an ai making this is ok. But I also think It shouldn't be credited to the person who requested, but to the person who taught the bot, and the bot itself. I also agree that tech should slow down a bit at this point, as I am getting a bit worried, and I never was before with tech.
For me, for now, it's not a case of whether AI is good or bad, it seems like a tool first and foremost, but rather how irresponsibly it will be used and at what scale. This thing is growing too much too fast to hold optimistic thoughts.
The other issue is that AI looks for other examples and mimics that. So if everyone is doing it then the AI will just keep making the same thing and eventually all the videos will be identical.
I've honestly never heard of this person. Personally, I am more curious about the tech behind how they did it. A.I. made from publicly skimmed (stolen content) should be admonished and called out, ESPECIALLY if it is for profit, which most of YT content is in one way or another. But, I can understand if they built their own database with their own (or licensed/public domain) content and generated it off of that. The morality of how the project is created I feel needs to be taken into consideration.
Honestly this makes me sad I think the day AI art and video content becomes previlent is the day I just stop being an artist. I dont even have any children and I can already see myself yelling at a kid about DARING to ask me why I do art instead of AI generate art. My soul will hollow out entirely
So my guess is, a writer wrote the script. A voice actor read it. An AI emulated his voice, he overlayed some kind of AI agent to “act” out the script. Hell there might be an AI video editing program (like the ones that make reels) idk. But this is definitely one way this can be done.
Mentioning a certain Man carrying Thing video, initially everyone thought artificial intelligence would be focused on mannual labor so that humans could spend their time being creative and doing stuff they enjoyed, but now for some fucking reason it is being used as a method of trying to replace art
If you listen to the Some Ordinary Podcast episode featuring KwebbleCop, he actually talks about how he was trying to make this AI. (Edit) ep: The 92% Decline of SunnyV2: Some Ordinary Podcast episode 76
Of course AI content creation will come, I dont think it is a matter of when but why we even think this could be the end of everything. When photography became mainstream, much higher quality images could be created than with painting. But painting still stayed around. I believe the concern is that the entire world is changing because of this. But this doesnt have to be a downside. Of course, some people will inevitably be impacted negatively, but the same is true for the Luddites opposing the industrial revolution. This is just another revolution. Just like the industrial revolution, everything about out daily lives will change, but into something so, so much better.

there is some dude that has made a self aware lara croft for the old games, and she learns but also he gave her an extremely accurate voice and she comments on things she sees. it takes hours of the game learning and coming up with her comments but the result is pretty crazy.
My opinion on why AI wouldn’t meet the level of writing required to make something good is because a computer cannot feel emotion. Most writing is about triggering emotions and an AI can’t properly do that if it can’t feel the emotion itself. For example, in a scary cave scene in a book a really writer might say “the silence was so loud, with the only sound around being the the sound of spiders skittering their feet across the walls” but an ai would probably write “it was silent and the only noise was spiders moving”. Do you see the difference in emotion? An AI couldn’t write something good because it can’t feel emotion. With drawings it’s easier it just uses the key words to get references and generates a picture based on that. With writing it more complicated
Even if people say it’s cringe or “he fell off” or “this is bad” this is really impressive and is literally the first thing we saw of this, give it like a few years and we can’t tell anything apart
AI art is sort of hit a next level. I first started creating a diffusion model a year ago and in the beginning I was lucky to maybe get 1/30 renders that was decent. Through a lot of training I got it to 1/10, but there were still random bugs and things. However, in the last 3 months I hit peak performance. About 1/3 renders is 10/10 and it polls people guess 80-85% of the time it is hand drawn. It does have a major downside, it can only do 1 art style (comics) and it can't draw legs, so you are somewhat limited to portraits. To be honest... it sort of blows my mind. How much better could it really get in 5 more years? I've been following AI for a long time and it is the speed of its progression that is scary.

It’s unfair that I spent 12 years of my life building up my art style just for someone to upload it to an AI, and just put me out of my passion.
some would argue that a passion for something shouldn't be led by financial gain or growth but I understand its disheartening
Very true, I agree with you, but people like me, millions of people all around the world still want to see human made art, not art generated by an AI with no mistakes and no real passion behind it as I said in my comment, I love ai and will support it always, but I do agree and accept that tons of people don't want it around
I view the same as well. Ai needs to be very strictly regulated.
Think about it this way- in the future, AI will be the norm and anything made by humans will get all the attention, since less people will be doing it. Hell, may not be the case, but I see that happening with the way things are going now. Fuck AI, cheers!
Same way the automobile replaced horses?

As an artist with diagnosed GAD as well as undiagnosed ASD, planning on going into art for college and career, AI scares the sht out of me. My options for livelihood already seem limited, and knowing that something I can actually enjoy and live for can be overridden by a computer that immediately generates what a consumer would want. It’s terrible. I would guess the way that it would go in the future would be to put restrictions on the use of AI in art forms. Art contains hundreds of thousands of careers and talents. It sucks to see that becoming less and less valuable.
The addition of my diagnostics have to do with me not feeling comfortable or safe in many areas of work.
The layman doesn't understand the difference between art and imagery, but it will become common knowledge as the debate continues and more educated artists chime in.
undiagnosed
I enjoy messing with ai for stupidity (for example, doug dougs ai videos) but trying to use it to replace humans anywhere doesn't work and shouldn't be allowed
The good news about this AI stuff is that the Supreme Court ruled that AI generated art cannot be coppyrighted. So, if this follows through to other AI content, it would be a bit of a deterrent for major studios to try and create AI movies. Regulation is probably going to be the best solution here and it seems like they're at least taking steps to kind of mitigate. I would imagine this ruling extends to existing copyrights. Hopefully.

We’re screwed :D
It’s scary tbh, especially how quickly this started, one can only predict how fast it will grow
But here's the thing about this
AI will more than likely fall off faster than it started.
What's really scary too is that it doesn't even need to be good content, just good enough for the 6-12 year old tablet kids.
@hangfire5944 you mean 24/7?
There was a meme about this, I wish I could find it

There will always be a market for new ideas and AI cant compete with that.
