Dhar Mann has this thing where his main characters are suppose to be the ones learning the lesson, i.e. them doing things they'll allegedly regret instantly, but the main characters have pretty good reasons to do what they do in the videos. Like that Mikey series Dhar has where Mikey constantly finds ways to get out of school/a test/class, his reason is because he doesn't want to fail a test to get punished by his parents or be in a boring class and get out of it in extreme ways. His parents seem honestly very abusive. That one video where Mikey's dad yells at him and every time he raise his hand Mikey flinches. I mean, he said he did fine in the exam and his father was all like ''Just fine11??'' so I wouldn't be surprised if they were way harder of him than what we were shown
Alex: *Gets literally assaulted, broken up with his girlfriend, gets sent to a place he doesn't want to go against his will for the whole summer, sprains his ankle and is abandoned at a parking lot by his mom and brother* Dhar Mann: Alex is definitely the villian in this lesson
Daisy's for the streets. 💀 She aggravates two guys into fighting Alex, then complains when Alex doesn't have an expensive car or phone. You shouldn't lie, but still, Daisy is NOT the good guy here. I've found myself somewhat rooting for Alex now just because of her. Then they abandon Alex when there could even be a chance that he ACTUALLY sprained his ankle!
I hate how the brother is amused at his brothers downfall, the family damn near leaves him to die ignoring that he was physically assaulted and injured, but thing that infuriates me the most is the fact that the girl plays the victim like she didn’t instigate a literal assault crime and literally no one cares, the police isn’t involved, he’s not taken to a hospital or at least treated with medical attention no just leave him out to rot for lying aka something everyone especially children do at some point in their life to the point it’s basically a part of life. We’re really keepin the community safe aren’t we dhar dhar
All the classes in my school made a video about anti bullying and what to do if you get bullied. I'm somehow not surprised that the video they made was more convincing and morally acceptable to view.
Story: Karen is actually sensible in her opinions as to why she doesn’t believe in god, her friends try way too hard to believe it and decided to smoke a cigarette which accidentally ignites a small pile of leaves, the church blames it on her, stabs her arm with a cross, says it’s karma from god before police arrest her on charges of arson
Exactly. What kind of mother just smiles sadistically and walks away while her son stands there after having been beaten up by two older kids? She really doesn't give a shit, does she?
To be fair, if Alex never lied about stuff like the fights and the test, none of this stuff like Alex being assaulted would never happened. And based how she smiled while grounding him, it’s implied this wasn’t the first time Alex lied about stuff and got in trouble for it.

My childhood was similar to yours, August, in that my parents expected nothing but A's. Whenever I got a B, they would be disappointed, as I was considered a "gifted" kid (gifted with overbearing parents, I guess). My parents would occasionally reward me if I got all A's on my report card at the end of the year, but NEVER for performing well on any one individual test. I got a reward when I graduated high school, when I got into my choice college, when I graduated said college 4 years later, but those are understandable milestones, and the gifts were NEVER as grand as, say, an iPhone or something as expensive as that.
mine was about the same as well. im a gifted/honors kid, too, and my dad is especially strict with my grades compared to my mom. ive never ever had any awards like a new phone or anything, just much smaller stuff
@@viviennemorgan7217 Lucky you! I want to be a parent like yours someday. Actually supporting my kid instead of forcing them to be some sort of living trophy/ bragging rights being. To treat them like human beings, y'know?
Lol I got no rewards when I used to care. just punishment if I wasn’t perfect. Once I gave up all I got was punishment. Same with chores, no rewards but grounded for not doing the 3 people’s worth of dishes every other day (they weren’t done by anyone else). My reward was going outside sometimes. sometimes being the operative word. I was berated so often and had no life. I don’t even know what spurred it but my mom put a padlock on the front door. I only remember sneaking out after that, so I don’t remember why it was out there to begin with. Fun times
I would say the teenage brother laughing at his sibling's ultimately self-inflicted suffering is one of the most realistic parts of the video. Sibling dynamics are different, but I've known plenty of brothers who'd be amused to see a sibling's web of lies come crashing down around them. Though they probably wouldn't be okay with their brother getting jumped by thugs and beaten up.
Alex’s brother frustrated the crap out of me. Alex was getting hit by so many problems at once and his idiot brother just had to jump in and put salt on the wound
What I don’t like about this dhar Mann video is that the main character is kind of the victim here overshadowed by his older brother and he probably just didn’t want to disappoint his parents and the way they nag him at the dinner table and the way his older brother clearly bullies him is just a cruel ending in my opinion
And bro, he lost even his girl. Damn, he's been in quite a situation. Like that Mickey and Jay episode where Jay gets a job as a dog walker to buy 2 concert tickets for himself and his crush and then after his usual liying plan even when he got the freaking tickets the girl refuses because a jackass asked her first. Poor Jay, he fell in love whit the wrong person, got the first kiss and then rejected
@@juliangiuggioli7728 I gotta be honest, Mikey is kinda a bad friend to Jay, like in the second episode Mikey keeps making Jay do these bets with Gretchen (the girl that ditched him) in rewards for snacks because fun I guess... I don´t know why any kid would dare their friend to basically emotionally manipulate someone they barely even know just for a pack of doritos but this is Dhar Mann were talking about, anyway Jay does eventually catch feelings for Gretchen and after Mikey dares him to ask her out to the dance and she says yes, while at the dance he dares him to kiss her in front of everyone, kid I think your getting a little to invested in this, and then of course Gretchen heard this and for some reason is mad at Jay even though she supposedly heard him say he wasn´t going to continue the game anymore so he basically redeemed himself right there, in conclusion bro almost ruined his other bro´s chance at getting the girl he legit started to like until episode 3, in the third episode when Jay gets a job for dog walking in order to buy tickets for taking out his girl to the Taylor Swift concert, when they eventually lose Jay´s mom´s boss´ dog, Mikey gets the idea to replace the dog with a similar dog, which is really dumb since the owner is obviously going to recognize the sex of his dog just by seeing it´s genitals, and once again Mikey gets Jay in trouble for replacing the dog even though it was his idea and Jay didn´t even want to go through with it in the first place, plus Mikey didn´t even stand up for him and admit that it was his idea to begin with, and to add more salt to the wound, he got the tickets conveniently for nothing because Gretchen just suddenly dumped him and went with someone else so what was the point in even agreeing to go out with him if you were going out with someone else instead, so yeah all Mikey did so far in this series was just get Jay in trouble and almost made him lose the girl he once liked, even though their supposed to be best friends, he sure does not do a good job at admitting his mistakes and instead just watches and lets Jay take the blame for his actions.

I’m surprised you didn’t talk about the one where the wife of a someone with road rage sets up a fake scenario where they get kidnapped and forces her husband to hear his son get shot dead just to show why road raging is bad. He forgives her by the way for traumatizing him.
I was extremely mad when Dhar Mann did that. It's like it tells us that if someone gets into a rage, make something up, so they'll change. In reality, it does not work. It would result the man being scarred for life
Over him being angry she traumatized him also I hated that one too like damn they are unlikable when we're supposed to understand them like yeah help him calm down but don't scare the shit outta your husband

I always hate it when in movies, when it's a 2v1, the person on the other persons team just watches their teammate getting the shit beaten out of them. It's like, dude, that's your teammate. It's not cheap if you throw a punch to help your buddy win in a 2v1. That's like just purposely not shooting to help your teammates in COD.
My parents never gave me anything special for getting good grades. I normally was an A average student but they never punished me for getting a bad grade. They simply stated that I was smarter than that and I can do better. It was never a big deal to me or them
What I don't understand is the ending of Dhar's videos! He just loves to end them with someone either having a pissed off look on their face, the parents just laying in on their kid like they committed a damn crime, or a random family member mentioning the lesson they literally said in the beginning. And people still watch this content
"Lies are like quicksand, They're easy to step into, but hard to get out." Maybe Dhar should've known that after promising to pay his actors. (Which he didn't)
15:06 why is the cashier just watching him get bullied and not taking action what 16:21 AND this lady standing around and eating popcorn ? dude if the mom cared enough to not abandon him at the end this woman WOULD HAVE lost her job
These type of stories should have ended with the main characters family being understanding and loving but they seem to actually enjoy punishing their kids even taking pleasure in making them miserable
Part of the reason why the quality of Dhar Mann's videos have gone down is because of the actors strike he had months ago. Many of the favorite actors of the channel went on strike over lack of appropriate pay or bad working conditions. They were all contractors so they had no labour rights. Some of them complained that they would be paid very little despite staying in the studio for a whole day for shooting. It's clear that this affected the quality of his videos and content.
11:04 funfact: a friend of mine once managed to break his arm in a math exam with a ruler. Don’t ask me how that happened,i just know he had to have a surgery to get it fixed.
My parents rewarded us occasionally for good report cards, not individual tests or projects. When I was in 7th grade and got straight A's, I was gifted a bird (I had pet birds at the time, so it wasn't spontaneous or like I would be unprepared).
This vid also features the Dhar Dhar line I hate the most: “dangit i was really looking forward to that test.” WHO THE ACTUAL HELL actually says that? What would be WAY more believable would be if he said “all that time studying for nothing? Damn.” Cuz then it doesn’t sound like an unrealistic disney channel show, but that’s basically what Dhar is rooting for so wtf do i know
To the girl working the concession stand at 16:15, how about instead of just stuffing your face with popcorn you actually try and help the guy who’s about to be assaulted?
Speaking of DarDar knowing how humans act, I can't tell you just how many times I've been at any place like a movie theater where threats are overtly exchanged and the staff just stands there imitating the Michael Jackson popcorn meme. Also who TF believes that a high school kid is a professional MMA fighter. I feel like I'm watching an after school special written by a 15 year old who got a make-a-wish to write a fever dream.
Are we not gonna talk about the fact that this kid is missing his entire Summer just because he lied about a few things. I mean yeah, lying about your grade twice and lying about being a fighter is bad, but the ENTIRE SUMMER? For someone who's Summer breaks are the only reason I can get through the school year, I think that taking away even half his Summer would be too much. I know it's bad this kid disses staying at his grandma's, but if he doesn't like it there, he doesn't like it there and shouldn't be forced to spend his entire Summer *BREAK* there. Keyword break.
Like you went about this completely different than I did. Where is there an UFC fighter still in high school? That took me out of the story LONG before I questioned why a mother wasn't calling the cops over her son being assaulted. oh yea, who are her ex boyfriends? We need to the cops.
Yeah and she was clearly a gold digger a girl who legitimately cared about him wouldn't have left him just because she found out he didn't have any expensive stuff. She would have said she was disappointed he lied and tried to convince him he didn't need to lie to impress her.
August: This. Is a Dhar Mann video. Everyone watching: Dear God… August: There’s more. Everyone watching: No! August:…It contains the worst story-telling I have ever seen.
What kind of parent leaves their beat up child in a parking lot after getting beat up by two grown men? And what kinda person tries to get their date into a fight with two grown men? and what kinda teacher sees their student all beat up and doesn't even ask if they're okay but instead talks about that students grades?
"Just wait until your father hears about this!" Well depending on the dad, he's either going to get beaten a second time, or be spared because he already got his ass kicked.
I might be older than you, August, and maybe a little more spoiled as a child, but while I DID earn a special meal of my choosing at the end of a grading period if I hit honor roll, I still raised an eyebrow at the idea of earning an entire trip or phone over a single test or two. It also kills me how much of that video wouldn't work if our 'hero' either just kept his mouth shut or just shut the conversation down; so many of these guys tend to forget just how effective "I don't want to talk about this right now" can be.
But it likes what happens in the dark comes to light a white lie isn't going to kill anyone but a big lie like '" Oh yeah I used a to be a pro fighter and won comps"that is hard to get out o. Something Yeah I am good at soccer is betetr
In terms of the question asked at 3:26, I was expected to get A's and B's; C's were fine, but we had to do better; and we'd get punished for getting D's and F's. I never got D's or F's, and I also graduated HS with all A's.

most unrealistic part about this is him getting made fun of for getting barbie movie tickets. Everyone knows that Ryan "Literally Me" Gosling automatically makes a movie exclusively for the top 1% of the masculine
Alex could’ve said that his girlfriend likes Barbie’s and he was just keeping her company. But of course Dhar Mann makes his characters behave in unrealistic and illogical ways so he can push the plot forward.

I would say the teenage brother laughing at his sibling's ultimately self-inflicted suffering is one of the most realistic parts of the video.
@@juliangiuggioli7728 the villains in dhar Mann are almost always just the victims
