I disagree, Shahid is not underrated at all! He used to be a mediocre actor.. but has gained much popularity after portraying some ground breaking performances, specially in Haider! Everyone have their own value. Same is the case with Ayushmann, despite giving hit after hit for the past 2 years.. still not considered as a leading man in a main stream bollywood blockbuster, which is perfectly fine. I hope Ayushmann is sticking to his choice of roles as that is bringing quality content and some differentiation from the regular bollywood junk

i genuinely believe that Deepika's performance in Piku deserves more appreciation. Just because it isn't as flashy as the performances by her contemporaries, it's so very subtle and yet so powerful. You can literally see her do nothing and yet she's doing so much.

Irrfan in Talvar, Ranbir in Tamasha, Sushant in Dhoni, Nawaz in Badlapur, Kangana in Queen, Priyanka in Barfi, SRK in Fan, Aamir in Dangal, Salman in Race 3 (it was thoroughly enjoyable for all the wrong reasons, if you know what I mean), Everyone in Piku, Alia in Raazi, Vicky in Raman Raghav (Nawaz is to blame for this. Nobody even realised how amazing Vicky is because it's him on the other side)

Hrithik in Guzaarish was beyond brilliant. His portrayal of the magician turned quadraplagic is one of the greatest performance in the history of indian cinema in my opinion. Also in super 30 and kaabil he gave a great performance.

Badlapur, Tumbbad also deserve a place in this list.

@@sunilchandrasaha123 I thought the movie and his performance was better than Rockstar and Tamasha. He was completely natural and never hammed it up unlike some of his more recent movies. His acting was subtle and he acted through his eyes only in many scenes when he was humiliated by his boss for being honest and righteous or when he was disappointed and heartbroken when he sees how corrupt and shameless his bosses and employees are and on top of that they were bullying and harassing him. I could feel his pain. That movie would have been a blockbuster if it released in today's times.

Sonchiriya was for me one of the best Bollywood products in 2019. It's so upsetting how little we appreciate certain brilliant movies even today. I really wish our appreciation and understanding of cinema would improve faster than it is right now and the best efforts in the industry would not keep going unnoticed and unappreciated.
