Honestly it's kinda hard to listen to other story tellers after listening to the unique sound effects and tension this channel provides. Dark Somnium sets the bar way too high. Edit: I am also not discrediting other channels. Since posting this there are other channels that also do sound design and the like and have *drastically* improved with it since the original time of commenting. Dark Somnium simply imo stands out even among those.
I agree, but that being said, the voice acting by MrCreepyPasta is great on it's own right, if only we could combine them both man... Let's hope they do a colab one day.
Yes but every channel is failing for me I mean common 13 adds in one video? As soon as your favorite gets big...I can’t be the only one who listens to these to sleep...and that’s impossible with blaring commercials that last 5 minutes if u don’t skip them
Christ, I couldn't ever listen to one of these when I'm stoned. I'd have a panic attack. I once watched some McKamey Manor videos while high af and got proper freaked out thinking how would you ever really know it was over? Once they've let you out it could be a trick to calm you down then suddenly you'd be back in it. Then started thinking I'd never feel safe again, that they could come back again at any time 😂 weed does weird things with my mind.
The Dark Somnium Thankyou for narrating this. I’m currently sitting on a bench crying while on break for a job I hate. I’ve been going through a really hard time recently and this video you posted gave me different perspective. I’m done living day to day living a life of mediocrity. I’m sure I’m not the only person who’s been impacted by your videos. I just want you to know that the videos you work on make a difference on the lives of those listening to your voice.
I’ve listened to creepypastas for 6 years now and I cannot believe I haven’t found your channel. I was shocked that you don’t have millions of subs. literally the best narrator on UA-cam
Simulation theory is one of the more terrifying ones to think about. Knowing that your entire existence is due merely code is pretty scary. Imagine being a lab rat, an npc in someone's lab You conveyed each emotion really well, and I had a great time listening. Thanks for the video, look forward to more
I mean simulation theory is really no different than what most religions believe. Only in this case the all powerfull creator than can destroy the universe on a whim is a programmer.
Nothing scary about it. Our existence IS just code, whether computer code or atoms and forces. It’s all meaningless in the grand scheme of the universe. We are nothing but infinitesimally tiny specks of particles.
Assume simulation theory is correct. Literally nothing would change. And if the simulation was “turned off”, which is a stupid idea in and of itself, you’d not even realize it before being erased/paused.
If there are infinite layers of simulation, where did the original, non-simulated reality begin? This question remains unanswered and casts doubt on the entire premise.
I agree with many of those who are new to the Dark Somnium family, when they say you should have millions of subs. You take the narration of these stories to another level. Dont get me wrong there are others who I listen to and enjoy. But I still say you are the best. Also thanks for an amazing story.
IDS doesn’t just narrate creepy pastas... He teaches life lessons... He creates beautiful visuals from already incredible story’s. He makes art really...

Space definitely follows rules, it's why almost all of space is entirely predictable, even in the scales of billions of years. It's just that there are a few small holes in our knowledge, and when it comes to THOSE, we can't predict things.
So much we don't know about the nature of the universe, time, or even reality. Most we will never know for as long as our species exists. We will likely never met extraterrestrials, despite the fact that they almost certainly exist, out there, thinking, in whatever thoughts or thinking even means for them, looking out into the same universe at night, whatever seeing may mean for them. Space is so large, and we still can not even conceive of a way to cross the distances. For the millions of years to come, we will likely still be alone, and that is probably for the best tbh. The Fermi paradox isn't a paradox at all. We could just never meaningfully reach extraterrestrials, and they could never meaningfully reach us. We will forever be but an idea to whatever life exists out there, just as they are merely an idea to us. We know each other is out there.

Even if Bootes void expanded 700 times the speed of light(much faster than "several) it would still take 1 million years to reach us and we certainly couldn't see it with the naked eye. Do 30 seconds of google research next time silly writer. I did like the concept. It's an interesting area of the universe.
I don't think he meant it in a rude way really, sci-fi horror kind of requires scientific research into the field it's about to give it moderate believability. A really good horror story can make someone feel a blurred line between reality and the story and wonder if it might be true, maximizing that feeling is what makes a horror story stand out, if not really creative concepts and fictional ideas. But in a scientific setting, I think it's appropriate to get that kind of factoid right. Still didn't really effect the story much to me, though.
I mean Protagonist did say that it changed speed quite a lot and that the whole situation wasn't according to the laws of physics, so I think, as air-tight, as your argument might be otherwise, it doesn't really apply here
My favorite part of this is that it is plausible. The “creator” could have just set the time to a 1:100000000000 scale having him experience a second while we experience 100000000000 years.
@@xtianjstn6157 yea but then again, the story said that the expansion was traveling at intervals of light speed to ftl speed, it would litteraly be impossible for us to detect

Been loving your video years, don’t care if I ever become famous I will still love and watch your videos RELIGIOUSLY.
“It’s been 4 years since the apocalypse.........you gotta let us go”
I saw this was posted not even an hour ago and I had to watch. So good man. I love every video you make. I’ve even got my wife listening with me when we go to bed. Stay safe and stay great DS.
I can't wait to listen, I love space related stories
Same
Really enjoy your stories and your voice is the best! Keep them coming i love these sci-fi space stories.
The funny thing is is that this is a theoretical phenomenon called a false vacuum
Only it would expand at exactly C and not any faster.
Very beautiful and calming. Thank you!
Whoa I’ve never been this early to any video ever
glad you could make it! hope you like the video!
AH perfect Timing!! A brand new one! Best shift ever!
My humanist, atheist, existentialist ass has never loved a creepy pasta more in my life.
This is a great one. Thank you so much for reading and sharing.🙂
I just wish he wouldn’t read so breathy sometimes..
Terrifyingly beautiful, well done as always.
Turns out the conspiracy theorists were correct! Haven't watched the whole thing yet but im sure its amazing
The ending was just , depressing but truthful
Yay I’m 4 minutes early
I like the perspective this one presents, awesome story!
Even if Bootes void expanded 700 times the speed of light(much faster than "several) it would still take 1 million years to reach us and we certainly couldn't see it with the naked eye. Do 30 seconds of google research next time silly writer. I did like the concept. It's an interesting area of the universe.
Take a chill pill its fiction 🙄
I don't think he meant it in a rude way really, sci-fi horror kind of requires scientific research into the field it's about to give it moderate believability. A really good horror story can make someone feel a blurred line between reality and the story and wonder if it might be true, maximizing that feeling is what makes a horror story stand out, if not really creative concepts and fictional ideas. But in a scientific setting, I think it's appropriate to get that kind of factoid right. Still didn't really effect the story much to me, though.
I mean Protagonist did say that it changed speed quite a lot and that the whole situation wasn't according to the laws of physics, so I think, as air-tight, as your argument might be otherwise, it doesn't really apply here
It would actually take much longer due to the expansion of the universe it is probably much further away then one billion lightyears.
My favorite part of this is that it is plausible. The “creator” could have just set the time to a 1:100000000000 scale having him experience a second while we experience 100000000000 years.
If the expansion is faster than light, how the heck were we able to detect it?
Space is so vast that eventhough something is really fast. Its speed can be calculated and detected
@@xtianjstn6157 yea but then again, the story said that the expansion was traveling at intervals of light speed to ftl speed, it would litteraly be impossible for us to detect
@@senormooples2354 if things are vanishing rapidly across the universe I’m pretty sure we can put two and two together
