    Honestly it's kinda hard to listen to other story tellers after listening to the unique sound effects and tension this channel provides. Dark Somnium sets the bar way too high.
    Edit: I am also not discrediting other channels. Since posting this there are other channels that also do sound design and the like and have *drastically* improved with it since the original time of commenting. Dark Somnium simply imo stands out even among those.

      Christ, I couldn't ever listen to one of these when I'm stoned. I'd have a panic attack. I once watched some McKamey Manor videos while high af and got proper freaked out thinking how would you ever really know it was over? Once they've let you out it could be a trick to calm you down then suddenly you'd be back in it. Then started thinking I'd never feel safe again, that they could come back again at any time 😂 weed does weird things with my mind.

      The Dark Somnium Thankyou for narrating this. I’m currently sitting on a bench crying while on break for a job I hate. I’ve been going through a really hard time recently and this video you posted gave me different perspective. I’m done living day to day living a life of mediocrity. Simulation theory is one of the more terrifying ones to think about.
    Knowing that your entire existence is due merely code is pretty scary. Imagine being a lab rat, an npc in someone's lab

    • @DaveTexas
      @DaveTexas 10 місяців тому

      Nothing scary about it. Our existence IS just code, whether computer code or atoms and forces. It’s all meaningless in the grand scheme of the universe. We are nothing but infinitesimally tiny specks of particles.

    • @alfredandersson875
      @alfredandersson875 7 місяців тому

      Assume simulation theory is correct. Literally nothing would change. And if the simulation was “turned off”, which is a stupid idea in and of itself, you’d not even realize it before being erased/paused.

    • @botersause3627

      So much we don't know about the nature of the universe, time, or even reality. Most we will never know for as long as our species exists. We will likely never met extraterrestrials, despite the fact that they almost certainly exist, out there, thinking, in whatever thoughts or thinking even means for them, looking out into the same universe at night, whatever seeing may mean for them. Space is so large, and we still can not even conceive of a way to cross the distances. For the millions of years to come, we will likely still be alone, and that is probably for the best tbh. The Fermi paradox isn't a paradox at all. We could just never meaningfully reach extraterrestrials, and they could never meaningfully reach us. We will forever be but an idea to whatever life exists out there, just as they are merely an idea to us. We know each other is out there.

    This was a very riviting storyline. The thought that because he wanted to spend what time he had left with family caused the 'creator' to offer him a chance to mend bridges and correct past mistakes was just awesome!
    Wouldn't we all like a chance to 'do over' a part of our lives? Tell someone we love them and hold them near one more time, possibly change our futures?

    Firstly, you're incredible bud. I was recomended "I died for 6 minutes and saw heaven, ide rather go to hell" on Tuesday... Thought it was a true personal account from someone, not knowing what creepypasta was... Needless to say I was walking my dogs that night whilst snowing, listening to the story, completely captivated with my mind racing from your narrative. Freaking out a little bit here and there with thinking it was real lol. You have a talent for pulling someone out of reality and into a story that's second to none. With the realistic sound effects, distorted voices, the climax pauses, massive drops, the music, and the co-narrator's you have from other channels...superb.
    Needless to say I've gone down a rabbit hole, even creating a playlist of the vids I've listened to called scare-attives, and can't stop listening, so appreciate you.
    Secondly, this honestly draws one in to the point of wanting to write their own creepypasta, and I am curious about creating/narrating stories now. I was wondering if you have, or ever thought about posting a vid on how you got started doing this from the start, and your history and progression to where you are now, who you are, and how you can create such excellent content? I feel like a lot of others would find it very interesting as well.
    Please don't ever stop storytelling, and be well man✌

You've always had a great soothing voice but your technical narration skills have come a long way and while it's subtle, the refinement of your skills have definitely been noticed. Great work man.
    I have a handful of skilled narrators like you I use to fall asleep every night. Like nature's temper, GM Danielson, Dr creepen, and you damn sure earned your place on that list. Top tier in my book.

    I subbed a few days ago. I just gotta say first and foremost I love your voice. You’re entertaining, got good sound design and on top of that I have a soft spot for alien/space creepypasta. You’re already my favorite narrator keep up the good work!

    Wow....this one really hit deep...kudos to the author for a story masterfully composed...it is a formula I've seen before, but never so well written...no foreshadowing at all, which seems to be part and parcel of this formula(I think that the authors fancy themselves as crafty for including them) but, in this case? Not a hint...as to your performance, Ronnie? I can hardly find words...your terror was genuine, your confusion palpable...you just keep getting better, and your true Genius is in your story selection! Thank you, again for another perfect performance(and the story length was perfect) indeed a fan for life! Peace

    Even if Bootes void expanded 700 times the speed of light(much faster than "several) it would still take 1 million years to reach us and we certainly couldn't see it with the naked eye. Do 30 seconds of google research next time silly writer. I did like the concept. It's an interesting area of the universe.

      I don't think he meant it in a rude way really, sci-fi horror kind of requires scientific research into the field it's about to give it moderate believability. A really good horror story can make someone feel a blurred line between reality and the story and wonder if it might be true, maximizing that feeling is what makes a horror story stand out, if not really creative concepts and fictional ideas. But in a scientific setting, I think it's appropriate to get that kind of factoid right. Still didn't really effect the story much to me, though.

    • @Solanin0803

      I mean Protagonist did say that it changed speed quite a lot and that the whole situation wasn't according to the laws of physics, so I think, as air-tight, as your argument might be otherwise, it doesn't really apply here

    • @WokeandProud

      It would actually take much longer due to the expansion of the universe it is probably much further away then one billion lightyears.

    My favorite part of this is that it is plausible. The “creator” could have just set the time to a 1:100000000000 scale having him experience a second while we experience 100000000000 years.
