In a large bowl mix the florets with the flour and listed dry spices, salt etc. Let stand for awhile. The salt will draw out the water in the florets. This should be sufficient to mix the dry ‘batter’. Add a spoonful of ghee and mix well adding a little cold water only if necessary. Make the chips following Sri Hebbar’s recipe. I have been cooking banana flower, and stem, all my life and did not know that we could make chutney from the petals. Thank you Hebbar’s kitchen.

Banana flower paruppu usili, Stir fry and kootu and even florets added to adai are common in my house....but kids usually dislike them for the bitterness.... the chips is great to try with kids.... this will be a sure hit among kids.. .. thanks for the recipe
Removing the stigma is a bit of a process... Mum makes stir fry (thoran or upperi as we call it). Absolutely delicious and extremely healthy, specially if u wish to keep ur ovaries n uterus healthy. Never knew about this until my friend (a cancer survivor, saved her rep system despite chemo n radiation) mentioned it. We have all the medicines from Mother Nature. 😊🙏🏻

yes I used to eat the inner small part raw. My mom used to tell it is good for utreus (resembles utrues shape). We relished and lived with nature
