- Final Doom Plutonia Experiment level 23 "Tombstone" my play video
Skill: UltraViolence
Time: 7:56
Port: PrBoom-plus
I think that this map is the most difficult in Plutonia. It is very difficult even to reach the exit. Moreover, I missed taking some items because there are a lot of items in the map, and I didn't get Items 100% many times. I was not able to make good play video because there was not so much time this week. I'm not satisfied with this play at all!
thank you for posting these videos.. they have really helped me become better at this game.. :)
Tombstone has to be one of the most challenging levels in the entire Final Doom module.
Those two platforms that come down each with one arch-vile and three revenants is when I race back down the long corridor and use my rocket launcher.
Even on the easiest level of playing difficulty; this part of the level is still challenging.
Certainly, there are a lot of powerful enemies in go 2 it. But, I think that I am easier than appearance because there are a lot of ammo of BFG and a lot of Mega spheres.
A lot of players have actually defeated map32 in youtube.(excluding God mode) However, play video of map8, map12 and map23 don't exist here excluding me. I thought those maps to be very difficult.
It's cool that The Barrels O' Fun music was in Doom 2's Map 23, TNT's Map 23, and Plutonia's Map 23. It's like an awesome DOOM tradition to have this badass music playing on Map 23
Everyone says how they hate Revenants & theyre so annoying, but i have to disagree. The most annoying enemies are the lost souls & Pain-in-the-ass-elementals. The lost souls are by far the most annoying enemies mostly because theyre a waste of ammo since It takes 2 SG blasts, or 10 bullets, to kill them. I like the revenants though; theyre scary and tougher enemies that put up a good fight. I'd gladly fight revenants over lost souls & pain elementals any day. Good run, Mr. Tatsurd CacoDemon.
Much of the angst against Revenants could be placed on how overused they were in Plutonia (to the point of annoyance; I mean, look at this level alone! Not sure why the Casalis loved them so much).
Pain Elementals are easily far worse, though.
ok! for all reading this comment, comment back to this with a random thing you have wondered about during play/watching Doom game play..keep it appropriate! ill start: if the cacodemon dies the way it does, what would happen if it sneezed?
Oh, I understand. I always liked TNT over Plutonia (maybe because it's somewhat easier), so I was hoping to see it. But I do understand the size problem. Those levels are huge! I read stories that several levels in it were too big for Doom and iD made them go back and change them.
wow, this level was really very hard. thank you for your walkthrough! helped me to finish this map
What about this: Why in "hell" (heheh) all monsters lie dead to you from the very same position, no matter how much you turn around them to look??? In other words, if the pinky dies and lies with its feet facing you, you won't be able to put yourself at its head. If you turn around it, it will turn around with you.
hmm. depends which way you look at it really. i'd say TNT is just as hard as plutonia to complete.
the thing that makes TNT hard is really well thought out areas that are tough to navigate.
Plutonia's hard because of the mad amount of enemies.
i've played them both to death and i reckon TNTs more challenging
its too bad that the playstation version suffered losses in the game. i think that if they wouldve made it a 2 or 3 disc set they wouldve been able to fit more levels, animation frames and enemies into this game. the only thing i'd say the psx has on the pc version, is the trippy atmosphere music.
yea that a my favorite map ever.
Cool stuff. Will you do TNT when you finish all the levels of Plutonia?
I hated using the invisibility spheres against enemies with ranged attacks. You had no idea which direction they were going to shoot at.
man i hate those gosh damn lost souls and "pain in the ass" elementals.
that's because it IS that song. they just Midi'd it for the game. :)
this level was hard! but it wasn't as hard as "go 2 it" for me!
@armedangel98 heres another: what was John Ramero doing in Hell?
I agree. This doom blows doom 3 out of the water.
So how to get 100 items
So how to get 100 items
I miss being this good at Doom. This generation's games have softened me up.
The _Worst_ map in Plutonia
Song from b4nm map18
I hated this level
this looks like Quake
I would play 64 maps of final Doom first. because TNT's maps are very long and very big, I did not want to do recently.
However, there are a lot of demands of wanting me to play TNT.
@Strifeguy1995 yeah, theres also a few large levels where the pain elemental cant spawn any lost souls either. The pit on doom2 and Heck on Final dooM are a couple of levels where this will happen on Ultraviolence and Nightmare.
Doom II "Barrels O' Fun" Music.
By the way, I've always wondered what's that kind of dog/wolf howling that sounds along with the music in some parts. The best moment when you can hear it is at 3:11 or at 5:41
i still have a lot to learn.. it took me 17 minutes to complete this level at 100%..
damn, thanks alot for showing the secret for the megasphere...it definitely HELPS lol
i make 20 mn for finish this map !!, in a average of 7 mn damn map but fukin good
The sound the revenants fist makes when he punches you is funny
I don't think so.. I had more trouble with Map 8 Realm..
@Hyalyago i never noticed that... good question!
Alice in Chains?
Yup.
Them bones lol
And yet this is of a handful of Plutonia maps I can UV in general...
