The dude was stellar, made bank and took his health into account so he's not brain dead at 40. Can't blame him one bit!
That's the dream right there
Quitter
Well he did take a lot of big shots to the head in his short time in the league so idk if his health outlook for the distant future is that certain. Hopefully he'll be okay though, he seems like a really good guy.
matthew baker Luck did it right before the season, probably why colt fans were pissed
@@kissmycons9541 I hope you get CTE then
He learned from the example of Patrick Willis. He's made his money, accomplished a lot, but knew that to keep playing would cost him his health. I'd rather see him retire now than be a broken shell of a man in 15-20 years time.
I agree. Sucks to see amazing talent leave the field so soon. I have a feeling FlemLo will have to make one of these about Wentz sooner than later.
He and Patrick Willis will both be HOFers. Goes to show that you dont have to destroy your body to become immortalized.
@ bro I am not ready for that. Wentz getting his contract with over 100+ million guaranteed basically indicates he knows he is an injury away from retirement and the guy is only 27 years old. :(
That's what a real fan of football... And humanity says.
That makes total sense, untill you figure out that he genuinely loved the game.
He wanted to play 15+ years.
Theres a huge difference between people/players who see it as an end to a mean, and players who love the game.
Opposing player: Damn, I forgot the play
Luke: This is what they’re running.
Opposing player: oh , that’s right, thanks Luke.
Lol.
that's golden
Niners had his head spinning! Luke was like, well WTF, Im done!

Went to the same high school as Luke, and one day I was lifting in our high school gym, and some giant guy stands over while I’m bench pressing and says “you need a spotter? . It was Luke Kuechly. I was a scrawny freshman kid who liked like he had never been in the gym and luke treated me like we had been friends forever. I’ll never forget moments like that. Great video.
Damn man. That’s something you will always remember for the rest of your life
@Scoop Jardine We are ST. X
This needs to be the top comment
Who asked
This is dope
I don’t wanna hear shit about him playing only 8 years this dude a first ballot hof
Ehh it is debatable
@@maristella6601 Aren't most things in football? I believe he deserved it.
Wtf did his team win? 8 years don't get you in HOF. He had a good career, he is not a hall of Famer, he is a quitter. he couldn't cut what he took to be a hof player. That's the bottom line
@@jcearnhardt393 lol ok
@@colevanboceg5399 great player man it's just a fact, 8 years does not qualify you for hall of fame especially when your team was subpar. He took his $ and ran, that's enough for him. Next man up.
This retirement is going to hurt Carolina defense. But he is thinking of his health first. I can respect that
It's okay bro we can always get somebody else but we can never get another Luke Kuechly. I love the fact that he's walking off into the sunset he's a good man I'm from Charlotte and trust me he's a damn good man not just football player. Respect
dw. Isaiah Simmons (best linebacker in the country, probably gonna run in the 4.3s) will probably be around at 7th overall for yall to replace Luke with. No one will ever play the game like Luke did, but i would love to see what the Panthers could do with a player like Simmons at linebacker.
I really dont understand how others cant understand theres more to life then football.
Hurt our defense? We got a pretty good backup named shaq thompson. He aint no luke Kheucly but he is a perfect replacement
@@panthersfan8751 shaq wasn't a backup this year someone gotta fill in his spot he just moving to his real position. Honestly I say fuck defense in 2020 get some heat on offense and let cmc and cam loose
After the video of him visibly confused and crying on the back of the cart I genuinely worried for him most times I watched the panthers afterwards. I’m actually glad he’s retired full of health
Yeah I was worried about him and see people on social media laughing pissed me off
Jay I’m not a natural NFL fan, I’m Scottish so I was probably still quite new to the sport when I seen it. Was shook. That and Shazier injuries both caught me different
I've been watching football essentially since I was capable, and that was, bar none, the most concerning concussion I ever saw. Usually you'll see a player disoriented, but frustrated, over a concussion. With that one, we saw the disorientation, but it was combined with genuine fear and confusion. That is a tough man, by any standard, so imagine what's going on in his brain to break down on national television. I'm a N.E. fan living in Charlotte, and to see even his own fans making fun of him, and calling him less than masculine names, was beyond disgusting.
@@MongoLikeBeer I'm not a Panthers fan but definitely a Luke fan! He is a super tough dude & as much as he still wants to play I'm glad he walked away with no further complications! Would've been horrible to see another Shazier injury or another concussion could do God knows what to his brain. Just curious, u still gonna be a Patriots fan when Bellachick & Brady are gone & they are this years equivalent of the Bengals or Redskins?!
@@Mandy_39 I'm also a Luke fan, he's one of the greatest linebackers we'll ever see. And of course I would, I'm not fair weather. Grew up in New England, was a fan before Brady, before Belichick. Obviously no plans of changing afterward.
Made a grown man cry, seeing him leave is like watching superman die.. still hurts talking about this seeing of my favorite panther players leave due to his body saying he can't do it anymore.
His brain telling him "keep playing and you'll be AB in a few years"
I'm in Indy, we feel your pain.
Got to make it to a game this season to yell LUUUUUUUUUUKE after a tackle a couple more times. So glad.
Joshua Ore Luke actually looks like Superman from the Smallville show lol
Built like a LB, with WR speed and the brain of a QB. Now that's a scary combination.
He’ll be a forever legend...
greatest comment of all time ?
"Superman"
I will never forget his performance in the Cowboys vs Panthers Thanksgiving game. Back to back interceptions and tackles all over the field. It was beautiful and I will always ALWAYS remember that game. I am so lucky to have been able to watch him in his prime. I’m so glad he’s going to scout for us, and even if he doesn’t end up in the Hall of Fame, he’ll always be a Hall of Fame player in the Carolina Panthers franchise.
Oh, he's for sure a 1st ballot HOFer.
Thanks for the info . I will rewatch that game if I can find it
CTE and other head injuries are a real and scary thing.
Bronco Nation its also a little overblown
@@brutalasbucs9719 You ever had a concussion? If you did you wouldn't be saying that.

Hollywood BETTER come to him 1ST! If Hollywood ever thinks about doing a Superman again.
They could do a continuation of smallville with this man
If Warner Bros. recasted him as superman I wouldn't even be mad.
Watching him get carted off while sobbing, was one of the most genuinely empathetic times I’ve had as an adult.
Played some football, went to a Super Bowl, had some fun. Now he wants to travel, do all the things he wanted to do when he was young, and now he has time to do it. Good for Kuechly.
He was crying on the field. They say real men dont cry. I dare you to say Luke isnt a real man lmao
He probably was crying because he knew he wouldn't play football again
It was due to a serious brain damage. He couldn't control his breath and emotion. Later, he said he didn't even noticed he was crying.
@@z30k whoa...that is spooky like hell... Glad he got out with his wits.

Sometimes tears are the most refined expression we have..nothing wrong with that Bruh
Its not crying. Its a system overload in the brain. His brain was damaged and stunned. So he was unable to even think right at the monent. He wasnt crying. It was random communications being fired off by damaged brain receptors. Look at his face he looks like a child. This is why.
@@bradkirchhoff3751 he's talking about the scene where luke was discussing his decision to retire, he starts to choke up talking about it. The concussion scene you are right although he might have been crying too as you are still "cognizant" when concussed, the messages are just delayed and don't always get across. I've been concussed and I compare it to an LSD trip plus a headache. You don't get the high or visuals that comes with LSD but it scrambles information in your brain in a similar way, and unlike LSD you can't rely on it to end within 10 hours or so, so it's much scarier. You constantly feel lost, and for a grown ass man that is a scary enough feeling to illicit tears.
We love what you do Flemlo; keep bringing these exhaustively researched and impeccably presented segments bruh ..

Ken Fulton {Baby Elder} ain’t that the truth. It’s hard as a fan but as a fan you should support the players priorities. I’d hate to see my favorite athletes get honored 20 years down the line needing a walker just because they decided to play an extra 5 years on a cellar dweller of a team (sorry panthers fans). I’d wanna see my franchise LB who helped lead a SB run be able to walk to midfield and be able to appreciate the recognition from the fans

No particular standout memory. But I remember everytime I watched him play I was amazed at how he was always near the ball. Sideline to sideline had an insane motor and never took a play off. Rare combo of talent , effort and knowledge. Hes a once in a generation type player . Should be a hall of famer.
@7:58 When your talking defense, and a sentence starts with "The only other guy in the history of the league to do that"....be ready for some LT knowledge.
Fixin to be sharing that line with Nick Bosa after this year.
Well he was on crack the whole time
he was drugged out and he was an outside linebacker, you can’t really compare stats of an outside line backer and a middle line backer
His legacy will live on a long time and you gotta respect him for being in the league for as long as he could because being a LB isn’t easy because ur constantly taking hits. RESPECT TO LUKE KUECHLY ✊

Man I feel bad, dude loved the sport but had to give it up, going to the hof fosho
I think he'll be right on the cusp of making it in. I say that because the only linebacker I saw in the HOF with 8 seasons in the NFL was Dick Butkus. Most linebackers in had double digit years in the league. Due to how many All Pro and Pro Bowl seasons Luke had though, not to mention his stats. I think he should get in.
I hope so but I think even Patrick Willis and Calvin Johnson are long shots to make it
Considering all the talent that doesn’t make it into the HOF..it’s kinda wack of a thing.
It’d be better if the HOF was voted by the entire league instead of a bunch of ol’heads
@@unpopularopinion149 the ol heads still manage to fuck it up. See: Randy Gradishar, best linebacker not in the hall.
@matthew baker Sterling Sharpe was my favorite player as a kid actually. For a school project in second grade I even wrote him a letter telling him he was my favorite. He played 7 years, put up huge numbers, and did get inducted. I was just looking at linebackers who've got in and in terms of NFL seasons Kuechly could get snubbed. Marshawn Lynch will likely run into same issue when it comes to getting inducted due to his overall stats, not years played. With Terrell Davis just getting in, Marshawn probably will eventually but each position group seems to have different HOF criteria. There's a lot of garbage politics that go into it as well. I think Kuechly will make it and should, I just think it could take some time.
When I attended 2015 training camp and he out of many other panthers signed my football and I’ll never forget the moment when he gave it back and patted me on the head
My favorite game of his was when he played the cowboys and made 2 insane picks and took one back for a TD and completely dominated a declining Tony Romo
Those two consecutive picks on Romo where insane
My best memory was when I got to meet him in person he was so nice and seemed like a great person
Best memory of Kuechly, vs. Cowboys in 2015 when he intercepted Romo and stiff-armed him as he ran in for the Pick-6. Best LB in the business, humble and hardworking. Love and Respect.
My favotite was Luke and Td's friendship and their dominance
What a wonderful man. I saw him in person in 2017, at the convention center in wilmington n.c. in support of varsity sports for high schoolers. What a person he is. Humble, dedicated to our youth, and a all around great guy. I wish him nothing but good in his future. Amazing person. Kuechly will always be #1 line backer to me. Best of the best. Keep pounding Luuuuuke. He will be missed on game days. Enjoy the ride Luke.🙏🖤💙🏈🙏
I’ll never forget Luke’s back to back interceptions of Tony Romo on Thanksgiving day ‘15. Greatest reader of the offense EVER and is worthy of the HoF. No linebacker was more impactful while he was in the league.
Luke Kuechly will always be one of my all time favorite LineBackers even when he would be destroying players on my favorite team. Much respect to the man, hope he lives a great rest of his life! He’s gonna go down in the history books, that’s for sure!
Loved this guy cause the way he played. He will do well in anything he try’s. I personally would like to see him get into coaching...damn he would be great at that too!!!!!

Something that wasn’t mentioned that I feel like shows how truly good Luke’s character was, is that despite he was the greatest linebacker of his time, he restructured his contract on more than one occasion in order to free up cap space for the team to spend. My favorite defensive player of all time 🖤💙
I went to the Panthers training camp a few years ago and got a picture and a couple of autographs from Kuechly on military appreciation day. He was so down to earth he introduced himself as, “Luke”. Best LB and overall person I’ve met in the NFL...EVER

That rookie hazing story made me smile. Seeing him get upset genuinely made me upset, as a Saints fan i know Luke is a humble guy. He was an amazing opponent to go against, and he was always near the ball.
The hype was real with this young man. He was my favorite MLB second only to Patrick Willis. They were both monsters. Hope he lives a long and healthy life!

I am a diehard Browns fan, but a Kuechly fanboy. My best memory of him was Landry catching a down-the-field pass and Luke was at least 25 yards away from him. Kuechly didn't give up, gave chase, and caught Landry and tackled him some 6 yards before Landry could get into the end zone. Eye-popping!
@FlemLo you’re the only Black Male Die Hard 1-15 or 11-5 Bengals fan I’ve ever known! When y’all went to the AFC Championship you was the first person that came to mind. Super Bowl, I backed the Bengals and I’m a NFC ALUMNI.

Yo Flem, you should do a what happened to Mark Herzlich now that you've mentioned him lol Dude was a stud as well before Kuechly came in for him. Perfect replacement
I was really behind the ball (pun) in football because I didn’t start playing until my junior year. But I was watching a BC game in Luke’s jr year and heard -for the first time, that he was declaring for the draft as a junior. Before that, I didn’t know that players could do that and had a long conversation with my pops about why someone would do that. I watched as many of his games back as I could and decided to make the switch from DE to LB when I left high school and went into semipro. After hailing the greats like Patrick and Navarro, Ray, Jack Lambert, and Clay... it was Luke that made me switch my position.
If my son ever wants to play football, Luke is going to be his primary film study.
That hit that he woke up crying, changed him. I remember watching that game, and we were all saying damn, he may not come back from that. I know he played for a short while after but I dont think he was ever the same.
