I don’t have the same social issues. But I completely relate to Liam in terms of being 100% invested in a faction in the Lore. For me it’s Imperials. I remember I hang out with a guy at Gamesday years ago who was the same but for Chaos(he dressed like a goth and everything). It was like we were a Muslim and a pro-Israeli Jew, I had to make sure to keep things civil.
My brother is like this. I tell him he needs to talk to a neurologist to get his add meds so he doesn't fail his courses again - I want to help him, I want to get him to do stuff but any time I try, he just says "no I don't want to" and I ask why and he goes "I just don't.". I want to help him, I really do.
I... kind of understand your brother. I had some people on meds, some stronger some less strong. Some worked better some worse. But after years of looking at those people i know that unless i will be actively hallucinating on in a psychotic states where i can harm other people or myself physically... i'd rather not use those if i have a choice. I saw pills turning people who were overall happy with some issues, into zombies that could only go "uhuh... nu-uh... whathever" and stare blankly into the distance. Sure they could focus on their task. But overall quality of life? Wnet downhill. And all of those people have to now take other pills or go to doctors because their livers took a toll from taking those previous meds. So my take on this would be: -Self discipline excercises -Friends -Therapy -MEdication only if it is absolutely necessary. In that order. Do not tackle each issue with a pill. Its not healthy, despite what some people might tell ya.
Devils Advocate here: Now imagine you’re Liam and you discover your friend looked at you as being someone that needs help or charity case. Instead of just a friend.
@@drak_darippa Completely irrational way of looking at it. You know, Breaking Bad is an entire series about why this thought process is stupid, you should watch it. Trying to get your friend to improve their lifestyle and better manage their finances isn't something you do to boost your own ego. You also don't have to step in to fix it for them as it's their own responsibility, but ignoring the problems means you don't care at all.
Ive noticed what I assume are a couple Liams (in regards to ALL their life revolves around his wargammer) at my local store Just moved to new city, found out local store Popped in, real nice, regularly games going on, beautiful mini displays, active community I game there once a month average because i have 2 kids a wife and a fulltime job. So my only free time i use for this new hobby. Gave up golf, soccer, video games, etc. Only kept exercise as my other "hobby" All that to simply preface how little time i have to go to the store Now ill stop by the store another 1-2x a month on my way home from work to grab a paint, grab a new mini box, and just buy some snacks to support the local store. .....and every, single, time, i, go, i, see, the, same, two, guys. They are hanging outside the store before it opens (5pm) on weekdays They are there until closing (10 pm) on weekdays It doesnt matter what time or what day i go, those two guys are ALWAYS there. And super super active in the discord And both own like 8 factions each Etc Their whole life 100% revolves around warhammer and it just seems...sad Great blokes to play against tho lol Have played both about 3x each
I’m an American and I’ve only heard flip flops called flip flops (and on occasion sandals). Never heard them referred to them as “hoodie thongs” or whatever.
I'm 34 with a wife, kid and house and still feel like in Liam in a way. Dealt with alot of stress as a kid with distracting myself, so even now find myself pushing my own thoughts to 40k and modeling in general to block out the stress. Have got alot better at pulling myself back to reality but it's deffinatly something I have to deal with
I’m married with kids in a job that’s hard work and boring as hell. Part of me is jealous of Liams life actually. No job, no responsibility’s, just Warhammer.
Yeah and Liam is prob like "why does this guy keep bringing up non Warhammer stuff, know your role Warhammer friend! now let me tell you about hive fleet leviathan some more" 😂
Sounds like Liam has just given up. Difficult to help people like that. He's using the hobby (and OP) as a crutch because he has nothing else. Also, for Australia, a 90min bus ride is local! My mate lives out there and a 2hr drive to the shops isn't out of the ordinary. Big country.
One Aussie complaining about ridiculous taxes immediately after another Aussie tells a story about how the Australian Government is literally paying someone to just exist and contribute nothing is peak irony. Also, Victim payout? They literally pay you if you're a victim of a crime? It's no wonder the taxes are awful there
Sounds fair on the models display. If a nightmare is about what happened when someone's pride and joy is hurled across the room by a salty opponent, a oicture of said model would be welcome.
I feel bad for that Liam guy. It's upsetting he was unwashed and unhygienic but to be fair, he could have ADD/ADHD or Asperger's syndrome, which is really hard to see at first glance or even after an hour of being with someone. Of course he was a bit gross and a bit blunt at the end of the game but he seems reasonably okay. Feels bad man 😅
lol north, you think aussies get it hard and raw? I went to buy a can of primer from GW 2 weeks ago and thanks to living in the asshole of the world they're charging us $63 or 31 pound.
things do cost more... but we also earn a lot more than people in the UK on average. Our average wage here is AU$92k (GBP 48k) whereas the UK average is GBP35k
I find it kinda sad an comidic in a sadistic kinda way listing to australians complain about the price of mini's when its cheaper for me to order an import them to new zealand of 2 difrent australian web cites than anywere i can get them in NZ.
Crisps/chips and phones.... yeah not a good combo. Though the hair... unless it's rubbing the grease all over rather than just brushing it back, generally not something to worry about.

Mercy is not a detriment. Soubds like the guy tried to be liams friend
Friends help friends in time of need. Liam has just given up. He doesn't need advice, he needs an intervention.
@@drak_darippa guess he shouldn't have even tried to help someone who is obviously trying, right?
@@drak_darippa okay. Thats not how it seemed to me at all. At least he tried to help. 🤷♂️

I fucking love Ork players lmao
Hard spot for Dante. Either way he is going to be criticised for trying to help.

Thongs is what they call them elsewhere... Somewhere.. a place lol
There’s meant to be a comma after hoodie.
Cargo pants, hoodie, thongs(flip flops) and a large cardboard box

I know I’m late to this comment, but Australia is a continent, not a country. If you actually live there, that’s pretty embarrassing🤣

Yea it bugs me too, I've told my girl to wash her hands all the time, shit bugs me when she tries to touch me with her hands after eating food.

29:38 is the realest thing. @NorthernExile speaking the truth!
I'm a Liam here, not full on stinky but trying my hardest to be less useless.
thankyou for championing men's mental health, you have saved a lot of people

You know you could just get a normal can of primer from a hardware store.
There are spray paints in bunnings for like $5 dude. They're just as good as the citadel stuff.

10:03 You're not weird. I eat fries with a stick and chips with clips. Can't stand the feeling of oily hands. Or maybe I'm more weird :)
You may be the weird one lol

I was a liam
Quoting Dr disrespect probably unadvisable
RAT PIZZA?! 🐀🍕
It is weird but its ok to have personal boundaries. I am also a cretin so I could be the weird one.
You should buy a snaktiv. You can eat chips without getting your hands dirty.
Lol omg my eyes have been opened. Chopsticks for snacks is crazy.. but i suck at them so yknow im basic
You can’t help those that don’t want it. It’s a waste of time. Sorry
Hi daddy! ❤😂❤
Im sorry bro - but your issues with dirty hands sounds pretty weird tbh. Kinda would hear about you on another “nightmares” UA-cam channel 😂
