Lets not forget the Death Trap Recall on the 2017-2018 Transmissions that can cause gears to shear & break during high rpm/high speed gear changes... causing instant unstability and death lol. Other then that 'minor' issue i love this bike 😁 So sleek & the rims are priceless. Debating on buying 1 as soon as they get fixed
i like honda bikes personally and owned a CBR 600RR 2005 Once but if i got to choose any bike it would be the ZX-10 no doubt about it the KING of sportbikes
Do you know if they put braided brake lines on that bike? I see they went brembo 4 puck instead of tokios 2 puck floaters. They say they are race ready so does it come with the braided lines? And does it use DOT5 brake fluid?
Hey Ace, the bikes come with braided lines but I am not sure about the fluid.....I think saying race ready is just marketing, it's race ready if you can only race a standard bike with no mods.
Greenblood750 I see. Well it's bout time they went brembo instead of tokios, I got to replace my shits, but I might go 6 puck fixed brembos with braided\steel lines. Enjoy the new bike. Also I hear the ohlins electric rear shock does wonders for non-passenger bikes.
What an awesome review! I am due to replace my current bike (R1 2008) and it's time for a new one.. I am seriously considering investing in the new ZX10R 2016 or 2015. It's a hard decision!
Thanks for your comments. I'd personally go for the 2016 version. The front suspension is much better for the street and it comes with the full Bosch IMU set-up, so you get all the electronics you need. Plus I think it looks better;)!
Joonagoona Hey mate, I ended up getting a YAMAHA R1. The crossplane engine and midrange torque sealed the deal for me. They're ALL phenomenal bikes, once given some time and set up properly.
We just had this chat in the office the other day! Bikes are getting more stuff, and thus cost more. Regadless of their budget, they have to develop the technology, with us paying more as a result. -- Rennie
Ahh Rennie . You've learned to mispronounce aluminium like a true yank. Tell them it has two i's. Aside from that , well done on your success on and off motorcycles. Great to see an aussie doing us proud. Keep up the good work.
Lol I agree with you there but just FYI he's not misprononcing aluminum, it's actually spelled either way. Even on Kawasaki's own web site it's spelled aluminum, so he's only going straight off the spec sheet there ;^)
Yes Sir , three bags full . I believe that " Kawasaki Heavy Industries " just might have something here that could be competitive in Moto GP ... With some serious dedicated development , it just might be able to , " breakthrough " !!! Call me crazy , call me whatever you want . Ck out my background , then call me crazy .
Rennie, how much better is that bike than the OEM bike? I hear that race kit ECU is MUCH better and allows the bike to drive off the corner well. Please advise, about to buy one of these.
It is a lot better. The race kit makes a big difference but as I mentioned, the best thing is the lighter wheels. The help a huge amount in how much more nimbler the bike is.
Both are very good machines. The Honda's electronics are more intrusive but it's still a great machine. The Kawasaki is more of a racebike compared to the Honda. The Honda is a little more comfortable than the Kawasaki and the differences are small overall, but I'll take the Kawasaki ZX-10RR over the Honda. -- Rennie
Rennie Scaysbrook I understand the theory behind it but 1 mm raise is so minor in relation to the distance from the front wheel to the back wheel center axles that I can't see it would have any affect at all I would love to see a bike put on the scale front wheel and back wheel and raise the rear 1 mm and let's see the week transition difference
no I have not ..I only know the theory behind what will / should happen .. but never had even the sag adjusted for me I dont own a super bike..just a Bandit 1200 , so , old school forks ( had THOSE worked over by the same guys that do Marcel ernies stuff) and a simple rear shock ( if I wanted a a Busa shock is supposed to fit my bandit )
Well that should answer your question. 1mm can make a huge difference to turn in. Upgrade your forks and you'll see how the smallest change can make a huge difference to handling
the emporer's new clothes. Kawasaki's ZX-10 was ugly wen first introduced & the latest model hasn't improved much. new Gixxer & Cbr1K are also very disappointing, from a design viewpoint. frustrating that Japanese motorcycle styling has regressed: the 90's & 00's versions of their sports bikes (mostly with twin round headlites & enveloping fairings) are aesthetically far superior, at least to these eyes. Yamaha's R1 is easily the best looking Japanese litrebike & can hold it's own against the best looking bikes from Europe (M/V Augusta F3 800; Ducati Superleggera & New Norton sports bike). i can envision the day when the manufacturers offer different styling packages: new Cbr1K would look killa with a full fairing (ala Rc30) & Gsxr1K would benefit from ditching the cyclops headlite (although Gixxer looks very bland imo).
Japanese bikes like cars are about efficiency (in terms of going fast) so it's always function over form...My old 2004 R1 was an exception...It looked amazing for the time, like an Italian bike, but it was not an efficient design (wide front fairing) and Yamaha changed the wide front to the current narrow to be more aerodynamic (function). The Italians still can do both though IMO. Ducati Panigale and MV F series (technically British designer here though - Adrian Morton).
Vidurc, for $15K you should hold these guys to a higher standard. The bikes should be hella fast AND look good. I wouldn't buy an ugly bike. Don't make excuses for them.
ok, lets consider this. Everyone has opinions about looks. Either you like it or you don't. Is there a design you've come across where every single person believe's the car or bike looks brilliant? Everyone somehow becomes a design expert claiming a vehicle should be better. Lets be fair about this. Different bikes, have different design principles and they are built to perform at a certain level. No bike will EVER have unanimous agreement over design. That's the whole point of taste. Everyone talks shit about design because it's easy to do so. Every 10 year old child who likes cars or bikes talks about design. Visuals are easy to discuss. The actual suspension, geometry, engine characteristics, fueling characteristics, and more are much harder to criticize. Maybe you don't like how the ZX 10 looks. Maybe I do. Who cares? Its all subjective. It's either more favorable or less favorable. That's all that can be done. Companies cannot read people's mind. There is no such thing as perfect design.
So if you're a sheep and you'll part with $20K just so Kawi can sell 500 to support their World Superbike racing program? Wow people are stupid. Just buy the regular R, it's fast enough, you average riders won't know the difference.

shoutout to my fellow zx7r riders
'92 owner right here!

Ace review! Love it. Straight talking.
Thanks!
Great review, this led me to purchase new in 2017
Damn this bike looks amazing!
Now all we need is the RR in the 2016 KRT colors! SOLDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
zx7r best looking bike they ever produced.
Can't wait until my RR gets here next month.

Getting mine in next month, too. Cheers

The 2016 version also has a way more linear power distribution compared to the 2015.
the_whisperer get the s1000rr 15 mate and I'm a ninja ryder
Joonagoona Hey mate, I ended up getting a YAMAHA R1. The crossplane engine and midrange torque sealed the deal for me. They're ALL phenomenal bikes, once given some time and set up properly.
the_whisperer I'm happy for you! Getting my flash & tune next week for the 16 zx10r. The new R1 looks looks great!
Nice bike but it needs a more complimentary color scheme to bring out the lines
Night Rider it's the winter test livery.
Truth....a good looking bike.
Shame there was very little track footage... lovely bike though 👍
Kawasaki has not done a RR model since the 1990s?
~ What about the ZX-6RR models....?
My thoughts exactly. 2003 zx6rr
Man I'd love one
Wow, I just checked out the standard R price in Australia. $23500, they've hiked up the price about $6000 in a few years.
They're making us pay for their electronics, something they would have had a budget for anyway. I don't get it.

I put 400 km on mine last weekend, OMG dose it turn.
So much better than my old 2015 ZX10R....but the suspension is too hard for me on the street.
Is it me or does it look weird how the lower fairing looks so abruptly chopped off toward the rear. it's just kinda weird...👀
That's a handsome bike!!!
Awesome video!!!
Thanks, it's a great bike!

if there's one thing I've learned from The akrapovic exhausted is that there is no proper way to pronounce it
como conseguiu ligar a moto sem a chave na ignição ?
akrapobitch dude!
Rennie, how much better is that bike than the OEM bike? I hear that race kit ECU is MUCH better and allows the bike to drive off the corner well. Please advise, about to buy one of these.

Thanks 2Chanz!
No key in ignition at 2:47 while riding
you say track test but minimal footage good one
the Marchesini forged aluminum wheels on the RR weigh 2kgs heavier than the stock cast aluminum wheels on the R model. Quite disappointing.
anyone notice no key in the ignition during the track scene?
Was just gonna say that. How they pull that off. Maybe its a RR feature
Make a RR in green
That would be nice.
Kawasaki should've kept red as their main color. I'm with ya on that
Honda is red, Kawi is green.
2019 is all green, your dream has come true
what size rear tire is that ???
Hi
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR is better than the 2017 Honda CBR 1000RR Fireblade?
Hi Andras,
After having ridden both, I would say the Kawasaki is a superior machine to the Honda. -- Rennie
Hi thanks your reply
You help Me so much! :)
And You can speak a lot of difference?
Both are very good machines. The Honda's electronics are more intrusive but it's still a great machine. The Kawasaki is more of a racebike compared to the Honda. we would get it for 40000$ here in India....at least!
If there's only 500, WHY IN THE FUCK did they make it black and not green???
Read the note just below the video.
not much of a review, dude didn't even know what bike it was for a sec...
what is the purpose of "raising the rear 1 MM ..." really?? can that do anything??
Formula 1 with down force sure.. but a bike???
Raising the rear by 1mm (one millimeter). It puts a bit more weight on the front end to help it grip, thus aiding turning speed and stability.
I take it you've never been on a track and have never had a bike set up properly for you before?
no I have not ..I only know the theory behind what will / should happen .. but never had even the sag adjusted for me
I dont own a super bike..just a Bandit 1200 , so , old school forks ( had THOSE worked over by the same guys that do Marcel ernies stuff) and a simple rear shock ( if I wanted a a Busa shock is supposed to fit my bandit )

Al u min e um. For the Americans
bullshit that’s bikes so lame in the power band pickup compared to other bikes but great as street bike
18,999.99$u.s dollar 2dollor its very cheap..
