- Top News | In the Guna district of Madhya Pradesh, Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia will be challenged by Rao Yadvendra Singh on the Congress' eighth list of 14 candidates for the Lok Sabha election, which was revealed on Wednesday. In Vidisha, it also fielded Pratap Bhanu Sharma against Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh. From Damoh, Tarvar Singh Lodhi has received a nomination. The Congress nominated Dolly Sharma of Ghaziabad, Sitapur's Nakul Dubey, Bulandshahr (SC)'s Shivram Valmiki, and Maharajganj's Virendra Chaudhary for Uttar Pradesh.
The head of the Congress social media department, Supriya Shrinate, has previously run unsuccessfully for the Maharajganj seat. She is currently at the focus of a controversy around a now-deleted social media post on BJP candidate Kangana Ranaut for Mandi.
