i know that McDavid has a much smaller chance of winning the cup while playing on a Canadian Hockey team. (you cant tell me in 30 years no Canadian team could win the cup even once) but why does that mean we should still get some of the best players on the planet?
Do you think McDavid is leaving the Oilers once he's an unrestricted free agent in 2026? I would imagine money will be the ultimate deciding factor, but I can see him ending up in the states
@TheHockeyVault i think it will depend how these next to seasons go. But i also think he has built a life here and won't just want to move it. But only time will tell. (Seeing him in anything but oiler orange and blue would be weird)
Lol. Canadian fans always deflect to some “it’s rigged against Canada!” nonsense despite the fact that single teams have been created and won 3 cups between now and the most recent Canadian victory. That’s not rigging, that’s Canadian teams just being… idk, not champions.
He's the most skilled player ever, and it's not even close. Notice I didn't say he's the best ever, that will always be Gretz. But skill for skill, Connor would embarrass Wayne. Now obviously the time they played is a massive factor, but sadly it's impossible to judge them outside their time.
The man can't catch a break, can he. He put up playoff numbers we haven't seen since the 80's and early 90s by Gretzky and Lemieux. Mounts the biggest comeback in the finals since 1945(79 years), breaks the assists record. Only to lose 2-1 in game 7. Don't give me that regular season hero bullshit either. He has a higher points per game in the playoffs. Lemieux has 1.61 points per game in his career playoffs, McDavid has 1.58. He is not that far off. He is not Gretzky, because Gretzky was out of this world talent that may never be seen again.
Can't agree with you there. Led playoffs in scoring when they didn't even make the finals. He and Draisaitl dominate in the playoffs prior to this year, just didn't have any support or goaltending. My opinion.
He is a gifted player yes but to have him stand with Wayne Gretzky that be a no not even close. As i said he is next to Sid the kid for sure but do not put him and Wayne Gretzky on the same level.
He is never going to win a Stanley Cup in Edmonton. He isn't the type of player that can score when it counts. He will never be a Bobby Orr, a Mario Lemieux or a Wayne Gretzky.
McDavid is better at scoring goals and assists than Gretzkey. If you could get him back into the 80's McDavid would blow out anybody. He is such a good team player, his assists are going to grow to crazy amounts next season.
Silly comment. All players are more skilled and fitter as times goes on. Pretty much any half decent player would dominate in the 80s. Doesn’t make them ‘better’. You have to compare players in the era they were in. Not the players fault in the 80s that training, coaching, tech, etc. wasn’t as advanced as today. He’s a great no doubt. As good as Gretzky? Wait till his career is over.
Connor Bed-who? Ah yes, McDavid. Today, as I write this, Edmonton is 2 days and 1 game from the Cup(and him form the Conn Smythe), with McDavid beating Gretzky passing record from 1988 in playoff, and the most historical come back in NHL history.

I’ll draft a healthy Lemieux over McDavid in any era.
Lemieux is "healthy" rn. Bad choice imo
mcdavid > lemieux anyday of the weeek .
Your dates of his contract expiring are wrong.. his current contract is until the end of the 25/26 season making him a free agent in 2027
Nice document. But you really do not need any of these fancy cool effects, they are very distracting. WIth a good content such as this is, you do not need glitter, or just use it like a spice, just now and then.
Thank you for the feedback, after watching it again. I agree, I'll eliminate that moving forward. Thank you for the constructive criticism ❤
The complete master package!
i know that McDavid has a much smaller chance of winning the cup while playing on a Canadian Hockey team.
He is not Gretzky, because Gretzky was out of this world talent that may never be seen again.
kinda sounds like written by ai at 11:35
Reminds me of Forsberg, love watching him.
Richmond Hill is NOT a small town 😭😭😭
It has 200k people
McJesus
If he was paired with Amazing Defenceman like Orr/Esposito , Robinson/Lafleur , Potvin/Bossy , Coffey/Gretzky . Butt he has Dry Saddle.
Bouchard
He got a good Nurse
Marlboroughs NOT Mar borrows lol . My Dad played for them in the 50's My husband played against them in the 70's
the small town of richmond hill eh... maybe more like a sector of the biggest city in the country
This was clearly written by AI, at least the first half clearly
Here we are in the Stanley Cup finals and McJesus hasn't scored a single goal in this series.
i think he’s doing alright.
This comment isn't aging well is it...
@@ryoguy3236 Neither did yours.
nice video but its accolades not occolades :P
He’s not good. He’s great.
hope they protect him
He's pretty good.
who is McDOOGLE
It's ConNor McDavid though ;)
Answer: almost good enough to win a Stanley cup AND the con smythe 😊
66 is the best to ever play the game
4!
best regular season player
Can't agree with you there. Led playoffs in scoring when they didn't even make the finals. He and Draisaitl dominate in the playoffs prior to this year, just didn't have any support or goaltending. My opinion.
Oh yeah, proving you wrong again this year.
proving he's a loser and a choker? sure
Like, I said, great regular season, can't win the one that counts yet again buddy. suck it
He is a gifted player yes but to have him stand with Wayne Gretzky that be a no not even close. As i said he is next to Sid the kid for sure but do not put him and Wayne Gretzky on the same level.
Lemieux was better
HE IS NOT Gretzky, OR A LEMIUX
Your pronunciation is strange and odd, considering you're either a Canadian or American. I find it disruptive.
seems like Lindros 2.0
He's not human, he's a GOAT 🐐🐐
No, my goats could skate better than him. He is okay.
hes the greatest player ever
Nope
He is never going to win a Stanley Cup in Edmonton. He isn't the type of player that can score when it counts. He will never be a Bobby Orr, a Mario Lemieux or a Wayne Gretzky.
SKATE WITH EYES forward not like LINDROS - no dis intended
What a WILDLY ridiculous comment.
Mcdavid is a bure/gretzky hybrid
Test
Eh, he’s okay. Nothing to write home about.
Connor Bed-who? Ah yes, McDavid. Today, as I write this, Edmonton is 2 days and 1 game from the Cup(and him form the Conn Smythe), with McDavid beating Gretzky passing record from 1988 in playoff, and the most historical come back in NHL history.
Well that aged like warm milk. Where was he in game 7?????
@@gregd6706 Easy friend, the NHL is scripted(as all major sports-just like wrestling), the Cup awarded to who they want, as matter of fact, a good 1/3 of the people in the stand are Canadian, cheering for Oilers in Florida for this serie and game. So that compared to the fury in Edmonton who will see the stand filled night after night, no matter what happens.
They sent the cup in Florida, again, to sustain their market there, now the seat will sell for the next 2 years.
Hats, t-shirts, heck, TV ads where 100% ready minutes after the Panthers got it... SCRIPTED I say. Games 4-5-6 and for the money, baby!!!! All for the money honey.... Let's not even get into sports bet, as Oilers where big favourite for this game 7, I Bet(man), lots of people made lots of money on the Panthers.
hello, can u send me some money for hockey stick, because im poor. Thanks
I'll buy you a stick if you buy me a stick
@@TheHockeyVaultDidn’t specify just buy him a stick of Deodorant 😂
I have some gum on the way

The best player ever…. Not the greatest…. Yet.
two ad sets in 7 minutes = stop watching and downvote
Creators of this size no longer get to choose when and where ads are placed. Only the biggest channels decide this now
Hey man, sorry this happened to you. I do not choose when ads pop up for you. UA-cam uses its algorithm and places ads based on viewer tolerance.
UA-cam premium... I didn't watch any ads for 5 months
I think McDavid will go down as the greatest hockey player of all time. There is no one doing what he is doing imo. Hopefully he can get a cup, otherwise well, there may not be an argument for that ahaha
A generational talent
Offensively best? You can make a good argument.
All-around? No.
@@VarjoPira I would agree with this statement
@@TheHockeyVaultagree all you want, but it’s obvious you don’t know hockey. You channel is pedestrian at best but good luck.
@@vinceschryver5676 Been a fan forever growing up ahaha. If you could provide constructive criticism, I would be happy to take it to apply to future videos! All the best :)
not good enough.panthers won it all,mc david, drysitle did nothing
McDavid is not a winner yet. Many greats had to learn to sacrifice offense to win. Last game goalie out the opposition turned it over deep. 4 Oilers were quickly leaving the zone for the empty net. They then turned the puck over. Time to play it safe and learn a style that wins in April. 97 and 29 cannot win playing 25 mins a night.
Best 100 foot player in the world.
Tell me you don’t comprehend advance stats without telling me you don’t comprehend advanced stats lol…the puck stays out of the net more when McDavid is on the ice and it’s a result of HIM, full stop.
He’s the best player in the NHL today period, no need for the backhanded comment because you’re a leaf fan and he’s not playing for your team.
@@barstar888 The puck stays out of the net because McBaby's team has the puck. Connor McWhiner is a crappy defender...as is Drai.
@alfernken that's a common misconception he's actually only 6'1"
@@lockoutslayer😂
“How good is mcdavid actually”
Well he’s not good enough to win a cup so he must not be to good
Wasting his prime years in Edmonton
You see him leaving in 2026?
Not very
He hasn't won the cup. He not good enough. I call him Mr average. The average nhl player has never won cup. Just like mcdavid
It’s a team game, you can’t win the cup alone. His skills and numbers speak for themselves.
Who the hell have you seen doing the shit he’s been doing 😅
Not good enough apparently. Lol
Gretzky and Lemieux were infinitely superior. Hockey isn't just about skills, otherwise Alex Kovalev would have been a God. Young people don't understand the concept of hockey IQ, the sense of anticipation and the overall vision of the game. The gap between Gretzky and his peers was infinitely greater than that of McDavid with his contemporaries.
Yeah current market is way tougher to get into and be at top of the pack. I've watched Mario, Gretzky and mcdavid and those round out top 3..but I'm not crazy enough to think you can actually compare them when it's impossible. All we can agree on is Mario's career was cut short.
@@dana102083 More difficult today? Imagine for a moment Gretzky with modern training methods and equipment. In hockey without hooking, without red lines and in 3 vs 3 overtime. Insane!
@@maitrehg its easier to read the game when its slow. Gretzky and Lemieux also had much more time on the ice because the game was not as intense as today. How can you even compare hockey IQ of entire different sports?
@@maitrehgya but no one else had modern training back then either. And look at the goaltending back then 😅
*Infinitely superior? 🙄 The irony of telling ppl they don't understand hockey IQ while saying McDavid doesn't have it...Have you ever even seen him play? He's 2 steps ahead of everyone on the ice
Overated, carried by a great team and isn't even the best player on his own team
99.99% of people who actually know hockey would disagree with you including most of the current players in the NHL who for some reason keep voting him as the best in the game.
GOAT!!!
