    Brilliant. He didn’t term the act of smoking bad directly. He implied that you smoke when you are in angst and worried. A relaxed person wouldn’t need to smoke. So he means be relaxed and happy and you wouldn’t have to smoke. Wow!

    The best anecdote I read about smoking by Osho was in a booklet named nuggets of wisdom. It goes like this: A disciple asks his master, "Can I smoke while meditating?". The master gets angry and replies "No, you can't. But, if you really want to you can meditate while smoking."
    This small anecdote taught me so much about meditation more than smoking.

      Bro. I had to read that at least five times to understand. It's with the person to create there own reality. I'm going to put it to the test. Going to quit tomorrow. Working on new habits. New input. Meditation,instead of smoking that morning vape. Smoke while I meditate. For the moment. Then I would think the craving should fade. Remember breath through nose. Slow release out. Nice

      @@Kundalini_Goddessplease read the master answer carefully. He is angry because the student said can he smoke while meditating, which meant that it was not possible to smoke while meditating.

    • @vrijmens
      @vrijmens 2 роки тому +9

      @LoveBomb He is using the earthly law 'freedom of speech'. Like weapons manufacturers have commercials for guns. Like the pope does with 'urbi et orbi'. And so and on so on. All very 'dangerous' as well. At least Osho is invoking 'own responsibility', which surely lessens this perceived danger. Osho makes sure that a person doing some harm to someone else can never say 'I did it because Osho told me to'. I think the only real danger is valuation of classes. Things like: 'This is better than that.' 'He is better than him.' and so on. That's what creates disharmony. In my view. Just my 2 cents ;)

Romans, greeks, persians, mongols etc. You are assigning these specific religions to imperialism, because in history, they have been brave warriors and victorious. Rig veda itself mentions many bloody wars, and infact few genocides of non-vedic "barbarian" dasyus.

    OSHO should have been a comedian. In a way he already was the only difference is he didnt go on stage with a mic but sat in a chair with a small audience. He is certianly the funniest 'guru' or spiritual teacher i know of.

    One of my favorite lines:
    "When I see you smoking I feel sorry for you not that you are smoking but because you had to smoke. I think about your worries, not about your smoking . . . I think about your anguish, your tension. I think that there must be something eating your heart. Otherwise, why should you burn yourself with smoking?"

    Gandhi was so strict because the traditional Yogi path demands absolute obedience to the Guru. If the Guru says "sweep the hall" the disciple does it without critical thinking. If he says "sweep it again" the disciple of the Yogi path sweeps it again. For western people this is very difficult if not impossible. Osho has seemed to recognize that. Great speech 🙏

    Everything that Osho said about saints is correct. Mind you, it's perfectly possible to feel guilty and antagonistic toward sages, too, because they reveal your hypocrisy, all your other tendencies which are less than noble. You may see that you're not living up to your potential and are unwilling to take certain steps in that direction. So sages, or the enlightened, can be hated too because they're beautiful, and the haters see that they themselves are not.
