Debbie Harry turned age 36 that year in this video, she looks maybe 25, so beautiful. I was a kid in 8th grade when they first made it big. One of the first acts shown on MTV, I was often tuning in to see her and listen to her sing. And I was then and still am a huge Led Zeppelin fan. Wasn't typically into pop music then, liked the rock bands. She just got it going on, really pretty girl, great vocals.
She's so real and down to earth! Still today with all her success.
She’s absolutely incredibly stunning!!!!!!
I’m 31. Getting into blondie now more than ever and many female fronted bands. Rock n roll man!!
Eleven’s self-titled album (1994) and Garbage’s debut (1995).
Not many as cool as Blondie and their music spans over 40 years! I'm really impressed with yeah yeah yeahs latest release "cool it down". She is, like Debbie Harry, a great entertainer.
Total Blondie fan here too. Your post was from a few years ago, but dont neglect their first two albums, "Blondie" and "Plastic Letters". Great stuff!!!
I absolutely love Debbie. Young and old! She is my inspiration and muse!
Hopefully you have checked out video from her latest album release tour at age 78. She looks amazing and fit for her age, and though her voice of course isn't the same as a young woman she still sounds amazing and the band totally rocks.
Search for her performance at the Isle of Wright Festival if you haven't already. She got a lot of love from that audience, and there were a lot of young women there which must have been very moving for her to appreciate.
Debbie is amazing!! a unique talent!!
The late 70s and 80's were the best Era !!!! Music 🎶 ART ,FASHION AND CHIC !!!!!!!!
Debbie was the reason as a young boy I realized I like women, thank you, Debbie.
Mine was Josie from the Pussycats.
@@spacejockey4746 Good choice 👍
Same, and I hadn't even seen her face yet. I was 4 or 5 the first time I heard Call Me. I fell in love just hearing her voice.
Same! When I was 11 and told she was 30 something I couldn't process it!
Fricking stunning and intelligent lady
AutoAmerican is one of the greatest albums of all time!
I agree. Angels on the Balcony is haunting & exquisite.
Two really great songs (Suzy and Jeffrey, Angels On The Balcony), but other than that it’s pretty much the point where I kind of started losing interest in their new releases. I mean yes, it’s a very diverse album and that’s definitely worth noting, but for me it just doesn’t have the same level of consistency that the previous albums had. Still, it’s much better than the album that came next.
@@Shikta-poobah67 live it up and do the dark r underrated,
Wowee Debbie is a total smoke show! I think my new favorite color is green!
Kermit taught her well. I remember seeing them together on The Muppet Show. 😉
Debbie is the best....so real, cool.....
Celebrities would dress nice and be respectful and polite; I miss that era.
Have you ever seen Lou Reed or The Sex Pistols being interviewed in their prime?
Watch Iggy Pop’s interview from 1979 on Australia’s ‘Countdown’. It’s on UA-cam.
@@frankie3041 i don't wanna watch it what happens give me a summary
@@clintstewart5545 lazy
Oh please. There were plenty of smug, disrespectful assholes to go around back then. Maybe even more actually. I miss that era too, but for more realistic reasons. It’s time to put down the rose-tinted glasses and return to reality.
The Greatest Blonde that ever Rocked
Next to my wife debby is one of the most gorgeous women to have ever walked the planet.
Damn she was sooo gorgeous back then, it's too bad we all have to get old.😔
yeah GOD SUX
Well good that she isn't old yet
@@yoooohoooooShe isn’t exactly in the prime of her youth either. I mean, it is what it is. That’s what happens when you don’t die young and leave a pretty corpse. It doesn’t make her any less beautiful… but 78 is definitely “gettin’ up there”, ya know?
If we didn't get old we would be immortal and that would be even worse so
She’s still beautiful though. :)
she's so hot
Wow Christ stein must've not been the jealous hey that's my girl type....Iggy pop was happy to say the least
6 # 1's in England ? , hmmm me Scottish mum would correct him , that's the UK :)
United States we colloquially call great Britain or the UK, England although we kind of know it is wrong
@@michaelrochester48 👍
@@michaelrochester48 Don’t worry about it too much, the Scots and Irish and Welsh are somewhat of an irrelevance and irritant to most of us in England too 😅😀🤣🤩😁😆

Merv, Merv ... gotta watch that body language ... too thirsty bro!
He was gay...
Standard Merv. Didn’t matter who the guest was.
Rupture? Guess that bad wig sucked all the intelligence from his brain. 😂 😒
😅
1:33 - 1:56
Blimey, does he want to sit in that seat with her?
Who's the dork?
4:30 - 4:59
STAGE DOOR JOHNNIES😂😂😂
Oh. Merv.
Creepy interviewer
Debbie Harry mi ricorda Sandro Pertini che racconta quando Ha visto Benito Mussolini 😂😂😂😂😂
Weinstein’s uncle n older brother?!
Debbie kissed in mouth one of them!
lime isn't my color but got daing if isn't Debbys
FFS the second guy gave her a great big kiss on the mouth. What a chancer
He’s fooled the world for decades. They all have . Good job “ Harry”. They did a great job on this one..🤫
Eh?
Debbie is a woman !
What
😜🤪😜🤪
I would
She wouldn't.
Who cares
Debbie Harry or Harry Debbie? Good job fooling the masses young man🤫🤫🤫
There's pics of her as a little girl.in Jersey and her yearbook. People in Jersey knew her from highschool
I heard she was a dude?
KasManianDevil if your inferring Debbie is not female some people will believe anything and you are one of them.Debbie Harry is female for 100%certain.
The collective IQ here doesn’t even quite qualify for a single digit.
Them legs. Omg. She was so gorgious.
Chris Stein looks like a senator or something here.
This was right around the time he started becoming ill. He almost looked older during that period (early 80’s) than he does today. That was a rough patch for him.
@@Shikta-poobah67 I heard he's sick, can't perform in concert anymore, he's 72
Yep that was his appearance and style back then. I like it. :).
Give credit to Frank infante he was the real punk in the group 😎
And she can sing. Wow!
The greatest thing about Blondie is they don’t just stick to the same formula !
Awesome that the band has never changed a member (except the passing of the other guitarist RIP)!
Jimmy Destri is the only long time member no longer in the band
They’ve changed members a few times. Gary Valentine, who played guitar on the first album left in 1977. Nigel Harrison and Frank Infante made their first appearance on Parallel Lines, and did not return when Blondie reunited in the 90’s. As someone else mentioned, Jimmy Destri, their keyboard player since 1975 left in 2004, and several other members have come and gone over the years, including Fred Smith (their original bassist), Ivan Kral, Billy O’Connor, Paul Carbonara, Kevin Patrick, Jimi Bones, and Leigh Foxx.
Bad interview by the host.
Simpler times I say .....
Compared to today, maybe… but that definitely wasn’t the feeling at the time. In the 80’s everyone was longing for the 60’s, which themselves were a pretty explosive, complicated era… and I’d be willing to bet any amount of money that if you were to time travel 20-25 years into the future, people would be longing for *THIS* timeframe, as crazy as that sounds. That’s just how it goes.
Cohost planting a really lingered embrace with Deb! Eek!
He did the exact same thing that Mike did except he was further away from Debbie than Mike. Therefore it took an extra second than Mike to make the quick kiss. You're making something out of nothing cuz you're one of those "offended by everything" snowflakes.
@@leighbennett1961 well that's called sexual assault so I guess we can blame him!
I just don't get how this guy landed Debbie Harry.
Just because she's hot she's not into intelligent and great of people right? Maybe she was really into him and he saw potential in her s*** happens and they're so best friends maybe stop hating and actually do something meaningful in your linstead of spewing dumb a** hate
@@Savagemode09 She's not going to fuck you bro.
I agree but incredible talent goes a long way. He never married her anyway and they broke up. What a waste.
One of the great mysteries of the universe...perhaps he was Milton Berle's nephew?
Chris Stein was the brains behind Blondie's musical success. Women like Debbie Harry quickly get used to being the center of attention, and look for a partner who can take them places they can't safely negotiate on their own. Stein helped tailor Harry's ultracool stage presence and cynically romantic vocals to appeal to the kind of male fans who obsess over intimately unobtainable dream girls. At the same time, Stein was careful to remain in the background, insuring Harry appeared seductively available to her fans.
Debbie was not a girl. She was/is a mega-watt woman. She & Chris were an adorable, gifted couple.
And still are.
Indeed. It’s too bad they broke up not long after this.
There isn’t a bad angle to her face. She couldn’t take a bad picture if she tried
Mike wasn’t interested in Debbie,he was checking Mike out.
♡ I love her forever & ever
Debbie was my youth crush 😜😜😜😜😜😜
Just curious, you guys have the rights to Merv Griffin ?

1981. The tide was high 🙂
I most certainly was.

Perv Griffin. Must’ve had the hots for Chris.
Great Blondie interview. Never saw this.
Please release the interview with another Chrysalis artist, Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull from 1974.

It's like past interviewing the future 😁
Did that second dude in the cheap hairpiece kiss her on the lips? The f*ck?!
yeah!!! kissed on the lips!!! so cool with this look Debbie!!
but who is the cheap hairf...k she kissed on lips?
She should have mussed his hair, turned the piece backwards, and left it that way. Merv's response would have been a joy to behold.
Lol they were so high
Uhhhh.. her biography.
Good try at a "gotcha", though.🙄
I still love you, Debbie! I know, I know, we've been through a lot - but I forgive you!
She is a he!!!
