Sony TV (w/ Google TV): How to Reset Audio/Sound Settings (Fix many Audio Issues)

- I show you how to reset the audio / sound settings on a Sony TV (Google TV). Give this a try if your audio is not working or not working the way it’s supposed too. Maybe you have sound or audio problems like no sound but only picture, audio goes in and out, out of sync, audio sounds funny or muffled or echoing, or you just want to factory reset the audio / sound back to factory defaults for a clean slate, etc. This can also help if you have audio issues when watching apps like UA-cam, HBO Max, Disney+, UA-cam for Kids, ESPN, Fubo, Sling, Hulu, Starz, Amazon prime video, Netflix, Vudo etc. Hope this helps.

1:49 Just pulled the plug from the TV out and plugged it back in after 30 seconds . And it worked .Thank you . Very frustrating having the tv on with no sound .

My situation is different. I do get sound for Netflix and channels that you can get over the air with an antenna. For Hulu, UA-cam, peacock I don't get any sound..😢
Ok, so we have a Stream box and this other device that's supposed to help improve sound reaction of controls faster. Ever since it was installed though, the sound is either delayed from boot up, or it cuts out in the middle of streaming shows on any apps. Resetting Sound didn't work. We've unplugged the TV, and rest the whole thing a few times but we still get delayed sounds or sounds cuts out in the middle of shows.
I used the soft sound reset through the "settings" menu. It just annoys me that this is occasionally happening. Sony should issue a FW update to address the issue.
You just save me from buying a new tv. ty ty ty ty

I just purchases an x90L open box and It's not sending out audio at all on soundbar or through TV speakers.
Got the same TV today , Have the same problem. Did you find a solution?? Or is it the problem with my sound bar’s HDMI port?

Thanks for the tip..Unplugging and plugging the tv back in solved the sound issue.
No surge protector on that outlet.
I worked on software updates and cables for hours.
Unplugging the TV solved the problem.

Unplugging the tv and wait 30 seconds and replugging worked for me. Got the sound back. Thanks for informative video. Without it, I had no idea as to fix this problem.

How to reset this without losing anything?
Our Sony Google TV's volume is fixed at a certain volume and won't go down or up when we adjust the volume. Even when we turn on mute the volume would stay on that level. I just want to know if anyone had this problem and how they got it fixed.
Hmm… see if there settings option to pair remote.
I click on settings in the upper right corner, only options I have is
Screensaver
Input
Picture
Wi-Fi
Accessibility
But if I push the menu button on the remote, there is an audio tab but when I click on it, nothing happens.
Trying to fix out of sync audio. TV was unplugged for a few minutes today and that did not solve the issue.

Absolutely made my day. Nothing is as frustrating as dealing with a problem that doesn't make any sense as to the cause. Other attempts at different techniques didn't help...only frustrated me more. Regular tv sound worked....tv over the internet...nothing. Your fix worked and now all is good in the world! (at least my little world)

Theres a much better way, hold the power button until restart pops up and hard reset the tv, if that doesnt work you go to settings>channels &input>external inputs> Hdmi signal format, change the hdmi your curently on to standard format, then press back till u get back to that hdmi input that theres no sound. so it changes, then go back to hdmi signal format in settings and swap it back to enhanced format, VRR or dolby whatever u were at in the first place. go back to your channel it should now work, if not hold power till restart pops up and hard reset it one last time that should do er, your welcome. Honestly thought this video would be explaining what i just did but i guess not.
