This isn't balanced at all? It was pure luck that simp even managed to get 3 points to start moving his minor pieces. Its not easy for a pawn to capture 3 points worth of material without any help from any other piece tbh.
Introverted chess: No one wants to be the center of attention. None of your pieces or pawns can enter or move through the four center squares of the board.
It only put him to 8 which didn't activate the queen, and his remaining rook was already on a good square and there were more pressing move to make than grabbing a pawn with it.
Holy smokes, that got dicey! The challenge said that "pawns" had to capture material values, not that "*your* pawns" had to capture such a value of materials. So actually, the pawn recapture at 4... fxe5 contributed one point of material for challenge purposes, and your Queen was movable within the challenge rules after 18. exd6 Of course, by that time, you didn't really need your Queen to win anyway, but awesome work taking down a 100-rated player without moving the Royalty at all!

I was waiting for black to not recapture the pawn on g7, and then Simp would have to decide whether to promote to a knight/bishop that could move, or a queen that couldn't.
Chess but you don’t understand the rules: You cannot move any piece(not pawns) until your opponent moves that piece so you can understand how that piece works. You also can not move your pawns 2 spaces on their first move or capture unless you see your opponent do so with a pawn.
This give me an idea. What about?: In order to activate any single piece (not pawn) you must spend number of points equal to floor function of value of that piece. You earn points whenever pawn captures a piece or pawn (your or your opponent's) equal to point value of captured material. I wander which challenge is harder.
@@QamarPl Just say rounding, it's what any normal person understands. I was the top of my class in math and I've never heard of a "floor function". I'm almost 30.
Isn't this a two bishop mate? The knight's nearby, but the only square it's covering is already covered by the light bishop. It's the dark bishop that's covering the rest of the king's options.
I dont know Simp, the instructions say 'Equal to' the amount of captured material, not 'Equal to or greater.' Your last few moves were against the rules, weren't they?
@@themobius5798 ooh, time to analyze text! Ok, so it says specifically "Before a piece can move, pawns must capture an equal amount of material to the piece you want moving" Now, without any extra interpretation, or changes to make a challenge more doable, the first piece of the challange would imply every piece (which if we go by drawback chess rules, piece = pawn) is affected by the rule. However, in the next section, it exempts all pawns from that rule, as their movement and captures is what will unlock the challange. And then in the "piece you want moving" part, it clarifies that your opponents pieces are also unaffected by the challenge, as you can only cause your pieces to move on any normal turn (tbf, that was worded weirdly in the challenge, so a little confusing) Ergo: either side's pawns are able to captuer and add to the counter, due to the wording of the challenge.
Blunderlust: you cannot capture a piece until you have blundered that piece yourself. You cannot checkmate until you have blundered a checkmate to your opponent. Your opponent need not accept these blunders.

and sometimes they do both at the same time.
Surprisingly balanced challenge!
That guy must've been like "wait, you can checkmate without 2 queens?"
Right lmao? Hopefully this actually becomes a lesson for them too, after having seen it once.

Too easy, full board
Also I think he done did that already

I like how he added 5 points after taking that rook, but still didn't use anything other than the minor pieces.
TESTOSTERONE.

Technically it only counts if it's a checkmate with one bishop and one knight, but that's almost impossible to pull off.
5:18 why does his ''we win" sounds like a villain where all of his plan work out in his favor

I would bet a thousand dollars that he didn't see the checkmate and was just trying to get revenge on your bishop for taking his knight.
Probably the greatest paid actor in this entire series
It’s amazing how the 5 extra points weren’t even needed at the end. That sick mate still managed to happen!
Definitely blundered a pawn, but the comeback was impressive.
Great challenge and great execution! I love how the voice cracked when you blundered the pawn xD
This was an actual hellhole-
This one would be cool to see again.
I like after the "We win" still only the minor pieces were used and the 8 points didn't matter at all :)
Wow, that was a tough one. And as a result, it was very fun to watch.

Fun fact: The name of this challenge is "utter pawnage."

Congratulations. You are now part of the club.

Yin yang: after capturing on a dark (or light) square, you must move to a light (or dark) square.
Classical Fischer Random: play a game of fisher random, but you may only move pieces that are in their proper starting spots in classical chess
This game is pretty rare given that you have less amount of material
I was waiting for black to not recapture the pawn on g7, and then Simp would have to decide whether to promote to a knight/bishop that could move, or a queen that couldn't.
I didn't expect a bishop to be moved, when he only qualified up to 3 point pieces.
Chess but climate is capricious : every odd (resp.even) move you cannot move a piece that is on the four leftmost (resp. rightmost) comumns
that was a really good challenge!
your opening plan is the most ambitious yet.
That must have felt good
