  • The first auction for the Larry Schroll estate is coming up on April 18th and it is being held at the York Fairgrounds so all of the vehicles need to be moved! Larry purchased this car in 1968 and it has been off the road ever since. The 54 Vette originally came stock with the "Blue Flame" Inline 6 but it now sports an Early Small Block Chevy V8. The Corvette is a very rare Sportsman Red that is reported to account for only 4% of the cars made in 1954. It was amazing helping the Schroll family move such a rare and historic car, and we can not wait to see what it brings on the auction block!! All the auctioneers information is listed below!!!

I always wanted a '53-'54 Corvette. I owned a '63 Stingray convertible which I loved, but this model would have been exciting to own! I just checked with Texas and CA DMV database last year. I have owned 107 vehicles in my lifetime. My dad taught me to be a horse-trader! He owned a couple of dealership car lots. This is a sweetheart. I wish I had the money and facilities to go at it again. That's the problem with getting old and having to watch closely what you spend. Thanks for posting this video! Somebody is going to love every minute of rebuilding this...

1st 10 years or so body styles were the best. Today’s Corvette body style is what I refer to as “Euro-trash” look! GM put out a 56 body style with today’s mechanics in it, bet they’d sell the heck out of em!

GM it to busy making junk to ever make another great looking Corvette...Like you I'm pretty sure if they brought the old body style Vette's back they would sell.

Hi. A very long time ago ... 1968 in fact ,l was 15years old. I was waiting for my bus when the local scrap dealer who l knew well pulled up in a '54 Corvette. I can tell you this was a very rare sight in England. He offered it to me for £100. 00p! Well l didn't have that kind of money so l turned it down. I regretted it then and still do to this day. Seeing this video has reawakened those moments. Thankyou.

Matt & Co. another great video, its comforting to know these cars will now have the chance to run again, be part of our great car hobby, I sort of agree with one of your followers comments about hoarding these cars, this hobby is for everyone, not just for the rich...I just can't understand why Larry did nothing with these cars over the years....well, hope & Pray that Larry is in a better place now, by the way, I bet you will be dragging that fenderless Model A home????.....Build on Dudes!!

    HI Matt,
Sorry i missed your show yesterday,
Great episode! I used to work for a Corvette shop in phoenix (Corvette restoration) helped build a 53 super rare
white/red car. Was really good memories. Also helped with a 54 blue car. Really allot of detail in those NCRS spec
    built cars.
This guy must have been loaded! He had allot of stuff! 32s, 34s, chopped merc, hotrod trucks. What an awesome

Way back in the middle 60's my wife and I went to a lot of farm sales looking for old car parts. I found a white 1954 Vette in a barn. A real barn and real barn find!
Could have owned it for under $2500. Back then that was a lot of money, we had a baby, and the clear coat was cracked, looking like a jig saw puzzle. At the time, I thought the car was falling apart so passed.
Still, I'd sold it long ago before they were worth much more.

ive watched you guys move and load several cars, someone should have told you to invest in a set of wheel dollys, they have several kinds from those that roll on casters for smooth garage floors to some with larger wheels to move cars like you guys are doing, just jack the car up and position the wheels in the dollys and have at it, no need to even air up the tires if you choose not too. makes it tons easier, also easier to hook up your chain or strap if you use the old wrecker hooks, two hooks on chains with a single chain at the other end. only suggesting this from years and years of towing on flat trailers and my race car hauler, hauled everything from rebuild-able ins salvage to race cars to hot shot loads.

In the late 1960s I was working for a good friend in his wrecking yard. We got a call for several junk cars. One was a 1953 or 1954 corvette. It had been wrecked in the front and the engine and trans were gone. My friend didn't want it because the car had little collector value at that time and He was more interested in scrap metal.

Today the windshield and frame is worth about $3500, the convertible top frame another $3500, the seats $3500 (if it has any). This is in the condition they are right now. The original hubcaps are $400 each. I sold a set a couple of years back. Steering wheel $500 and it goes on. I had a 54 Corvette kitcar that I was going to turn into a 54 Corvair Fastback and bought parts for 10 years. Sold everything 3 or 4 years back.
