      Yup, and the female friend said he would have killed her for "no reason" and that it just didn't make sense. The motive is right there in front of them. He was about to be exposed that they lost their house, when Heidi had no clue, and they had to move out within 24 hours. That is a divorceable offense due to the level of deceit. 22 months of not paying the mortgage and pretending that he paid is unconscionable. He prided himself on his reputation as the "wise" one in church and among family and friends. He came from a family that didn't believe in divorce, and he would have been shamed. He would rather hold on to that bogus reputation than to come clean with his wife, get a divorce, and try to start over.

    That's a super million dime a dozen old Minneapolis/St. Paul home layout. Why would your safety plan be to exit your bedroom upstairs, go down the one long set of stairs ending directly in front of the front door to safely leave the home incase of a burglary? Not only that, why would your safety plan involve exiting the front door or trying exiting the one other door, the back door (probably downstairs back near the kitchen facing the backyard. A plan to run to the unattached garage in the backyard. That's your safety plan? So, "Here's the plan, Heidi, you go first down the long set of stairs and make it to 1 of 2 exits first...then I'll follow behind you with a shot gun."

    • @Beebop1982
      @Beebop1982 2 місяці тому +6

      How did the "intruder" open that screen door, then stand there and wait perfectly patiently that long? Long enough for Nick to go to his closet, load his shot gun, wake his wife up, get her to call 911 first, then have her walk down the long set of stairs first... then, just then after that long pause the intruder provided, the intruder breaks through the door. The door that didn't show any evidence of forced entry? Nick is dumb as rocks and a psychopathic killer.

    Let me get this right. An unknown assailant enters a home, at a time when it is most certainly occupied….shoots the wife in the back then shoots the husband (who is the obvious threat) in the leg. Then drops the weapon and runs out of the door without any stolen property. Riiiiigggghhhhttttt.

    Probably a narcissist, a false self all along, who probably hid debt from Heidi and killed her rather than her finding out that they were actually going to lose the house. If she had life insurance solving his debt problems at the same time.

    During that interrogation, he wanted to ensure she died and needed to get confirmation. His worst nightmare would have been if she lived to say that she never heard any noise of a break in, and that she didn't know about the eviction on top of it. He wanted her to go first down those stairs so that her back was turned, and he could do the cowardly act of shooting her right in the back. He wouldn't have to look her in the eye, and she had no opportunity to dodge it. That was definitely premeditated. And the timing of getting her to trust him, make her call 9-1-1, then shuffle her downstairs in front of the danger with her back turned to the shotgun. SMH Then to graze himself to appear to be a victim. That's as dirty as it gets. His mistake was having no witness of the third person, no DNA to match a third person, his guilty behavior dodging the investigation, and an inability to hide the glaring motive. The jury got it right. That second wife made it out alive because she confronted the lies before they snowballed into losing the house. I'm sure he thought about killing her too, but it would have been too much of a coincidence.

    The culture of people in Minnesota makes me think that a lot of people can't "see" through deceptions. These people have strong group ties which is admirable but when there is death, a killing, don't people want to find the truth or dig deeper into the case? Since families support/believe in each other i guess it's okay and acceptable to them but as an outsider I'd like to get to the truth for the victim Heidi as she didn’t need to die the way she did.
