Beta 3 for one ui 7 just got. (i understand you probably know or trying it out at the moment for a video.) just want to say if didn't know. Was out for T-Mobile s24 ultra 8am est 1/6
i have the note 20 ultra, it's doing fine it's just not handling heat that well, had to send it to ismash to replace the battery as it inflated and popped the back off. probably not helping by playing a lot of afk journey on it.
With the black Friday deals, I ended up scoring an S24 Ultra (512gb) for $437/shipped after Military discount and all codes. I did trade in my S22U to get that deal, but I cannot see me upgrading after grabbing this good of a deal.
@@jspring86 Yes! I found some rare discount codes on a website and also had never used the $50 off Samsung app bonus offer. So I ended up with one hell of a deal that I just couldn't pass up... The S22U I had was the 128gb version, so it only had 8gb of RAM and stuttered quite frequently. I can definitely tell the difference with 12gb now.
There is no significant selling point for S25U. old hardware spareparts, no promising camera, average memory, old m13 screen, low battery. the same last year, it's just AI again. at that price, a big NO.
I'm waiting for the S26 Ultra which I think will have faster charging speeds probably 65 watt charging plus I can't afford to upgrade this year but I am going to play around with the phone in Bestbuy to check out the new features with One UI 7.
I have a magsafe case on my s23 ultra, and yes, there are spots where the magnets make lines skip. By removing the magsafe wallet, s-pen's back in business. I did try a wireless pad on my phone, anf it got hot (I have AccuBattery on phone to monitor battery; in the time I used the charger pad, battery temp went to 108 ○ F. Pop Tart time!).
you should try upgrading every 6 months or just buy the same phone several times a year 😂 if you ppl only knew how much you are overpaying for these phones
I'm a Samsung guy, but it's hard not to look at OnePlus this time. Unless Samsung is giving a huge trade in bonus (not the ones that keep you tied to a carrier) if I can pickup a OnePlus 13 with the new chip in it for 700 bucks it's gonna be hard not to at least give it a try. To add insult to it, Samsung support for US is horrible. I had an issue with my USB port, and they just kept telling me to try another cable like I'm an idiot. So I had to go to a local phone shop to get a new port on a phone that came defective.
Literally the only reason to upgrade is the chipset for me... That Snapdragon Elite is like carrying the new flagship phones. No other feature is enticing to update especially software-wise. In fact, they're actively discouraging me to update to be honest. It's like do I upgrade to the Snapdragon Elite or get everything else that comes with it that I actively dislike in the S24 so far or One UI7. Qi2 is not at all a hardware feature I'm interested in it's like a I don't know extra or something for me.
Great information shared! For the glare/reflection resistant display, would you advise for us to lay tempered glass over for added protection? Or will that tamper with the effectiveness of the glare/reflection resistance?
Don't buy, must buy?!? I'm just gonna stay with my S24 Ultra 1TB unlocked for a while. If Samsung would of improved camera like major improved, then that would be a game changer.
The Galapple magsafe S24 Ultra case works great and doesn't interfere with the s-pen. As a bonus it makes the back of your phone flat so when you use magsafe devices they don't pop off when they rotate and bump into the camera.
Great content. I was thinking of trading my s23 ultra, but I decided to get the s24 ultra. The s24 ultra will get the 1ui7.0, everything the s25 ultra other than the new snapdragon. It just wasn't enough. Great video, though.
I keep two phones; a prepaid TracFone for Verizon and a flagship that'll work on GSM carriers (AT&T + TMo) too. My TracFone is a Galaxy A15. The one before it was another Galaxy A... My GSM flagship is an LG V35. It was LG's equivalent of the Galaxy S9 Plus; which I bought because it was considerably less expensive, while having the same specs and the vaunted QuadDAC. It's been a great phone. I knew LG's reputation for quality issues, and I'd even been burned by it myself, but this phone has been a tank. It's like buying a Range Rover that turns out to be as reliable as the sunrise or the neighbor's Lexus branded Land Cruiser. I should've upgraded a while back; but, Qualcomm bought Nuvia and I was/am/is still happy with the LG's performance so I decided to wait until Qualcomm began integrating their new Oryon cores into phone grade Snapdragons. I'm never a launch day buyer; but, I fully expect to get an S25 series Galaxy at some point. I'm not sure if I'll spring for the Ultra. I want one; but, I'm not sure if I'll use the "ultra" features enough to make the extra few hundred bucks worth it over the S25 Plus. I hope I win an Ultra in one of Jeff's flagship phone giveaways! Maybe even January's? :-D
For the first time in a decade, after buying the S23 Ultra two years ago, I didn't upgrade to the S24 last year. I realized that the iterative changes from one year to the next no longer warrant annual upgrades at a cost of $1k+. Further, the overhyped "AI" crap is mostly about software. I laughed at how much they played up the S24 for the AI stuff, but then a couple months after the S24 came out, an OS update was released for the S23 with all of the same AI stuff. And spare me from the arguments about the iterative hardware updates enabling the AI crap. So what?...The S24 can apply AI effects to a photo in 2 seconds instead of the S23 taking 3 seconds? Yeaaaah...ok. While I'm ranting, what's the deal with the hype over case colors and weight reductions? For the love of God, the first thing EVERYONE does when getting a new phone is put a case on it, making the backside of the phone's color irrelevant. And single digit grams of weight reduction? Seriously? Who in the world lists phone weight as a concern these days? Also, the S25 hype around the rounded edges making the phone more comfortable to handle? Who THE HELL is using their S Ultra phone without a case to where this would in any way matter? We're all paranoid about phone damage and everyone slaps on a bulky case right after activation. The singular reason I might get the S25 Ultra is because the battery in my S23 Ultra has severely degraded in capacity. A great example of planned and intentional obsolescence being built into battery design. As for the reputed hardware improvements in the S25 Ultra, I'm completely unexcited when comparing to the S23 Ultra. Any differences will lose meaning 15 minutes after activating the phone. Samsung is overindexed on the AI hype at the expense of hardware evolution. For example, instead of developing meaningful evolution in camera tech, they're focused on applying AI to images taken with existing camera tech. Something about this doesn't sit right with me. It feels like a cheap shortcut. Instead of taking a "real" image with improved capture of the "real" data through better lenses and sensors, they want to apply AI to synthesize something that "looks better." The cheapness of this AI crap was laid bare with the scandalous revelation a couple years ago that Samsung was literally faking images of the Moon by having the software recognize when the Moon was in the picture and artificially applying lunar landscape details - making it seem like your device captured that actual detail. This never sat right with me and to this day has put me off from the AI hype.
Have s24 ultra, and my old s21 5g with e❤ 2100 is still good for me if not for that heating like gen z's temperament and a battery life like gen z's attention span .
I've always used the plus variant, and externally, there is really no difference it seems between the s24 plus and the s25 plus. Internally, yeah..more AI and better processor, but I hardly use the AI on my S24 plus, and the processing power it has is actually more than I need. I'm just going to keep using this for years. It's been good to me and I'd probably feel bad if I traded it in. 😊
