    That "over 40's" clip made me cringe so intensely, she came off in a very judgmental manner. It reminds me of past jobs where I'd have coworkers make similar negative comments towards me because I was apparently too "high maintenance" with the way that I chose to wear my makeup (comments, mostly unprompted, like "you clearly don't have any kids," "I just don't have time for all that," etc.). Live and let live. I don't judge people for spending 5 minutes on their makeup (or for going bare-faced), so why should they judge me for spending an hour on mine?

      Same here! Am about to turn 50, and for me (single, no kids) half the joy of going somewhere is the "getting ready" of it all :) An hour is nothing, I can spend the whole day on hair and makeup, and often its actually more fun than whatever I'm getting ready for. Also, taking more time allows my base (foundation/concealer/powder/bronzer/blush) to "become one" with my skin, due to its warmth - making it look WAY more natural. When I don't have all day, I literally use a hair dryer to mimic the effect. 😄

    As a 44 year old woman who has also been a MOM for 21 years; I feel the need to say I do NOT claim that angry “real mom” as part of my clan. Thanks. I don’t do graphic liner but I do enjoy bronzing, concealing, contouring, highlighting and using bright colors / multichrome shifty and shine to the high heavens eyeshadow. I don’t care if it emphasizes my wrinkles and crepe eye lids. Looking in the mirror and seeing all the sparkles adds joy to my life. Isn’t that all that matters!?

      @anitrachere7024 You don't know the connection between makeup and being a mother? 🤔🤔 You must've had a rare circumstance to your mothering experience. For nearly every mom, we are so busy we don't have time to do makeup most days when kids are young, and when we do it's not much time. The connection is that most mothers never are out in full makeup (or any in many cases) because they just don't have time.

      It's funny because it's usually younger people telling us we can't use glitter or shimmer past a certain age, but that's actually a very outdated belief. The products and the way we do makeup has changed a great deal. Products used to travel into microscopic fine lines, most people didn't use anything to prime for eyeshadows, etc. Products like glitter glue didn't even exist and drag queens used to be the only ones who regularly used a setting spray- which was usually AquaNet hairspray. Yes, if you have lines and wrinkles and you don't use the right products, and you don't prep at ALL, it's not going to look flattering for long. But that's so avoidable these days that people sound ignorant and old fashioned when they say you can't do this or that.
      Even cheap products are so much better now than they were 20 years ago. They are a lot more forgiving. We also have access to so much more information on how to get the best results. But when it comes down to it, if you are happy it doesn't matter. Nobody should be telling you that you "can't" do it. Aging already sucks, let us have fun, it's not hurting you.

I love the creativity I see from young women doing their makeup and I think it's so important to enjoy every stage of your life to the fullest. Instead of being bitter about aging and all the new things younger women are doing, I want to celebrate it, and try to incorporate new things in my own routine where it's reasonable and works for me. Aging is an inevitable reality and life is just too damn short to be bitter about younger people enjoying their lives.

    • @Eleanorscatmom
      @Eleanorscatmom 7 місяців тому +5

      @@nonenone5413 that has literally nothing to do with what I said. Where did I say every mom needs to be bougie? I didn't say anything about moms needing to wear makeup, period. I wasn't even discussing her points on makeup. I was discussing /how she parents/. I recognized very particular red flags in her behavior of narcissism that as a survivor I can personally recognize. I'm not the only one. Why do you think the whole internet was mad at her? She took the opportunity to get online and tell the whole world what to do, lecturing grown adults like children. Just like a Narc. Mother does to their adult children. Just like my mother did to me. I KNOW what kind of woman this is. I was talking about HER, not makeup. Reading comprehension and emotional control are very adult but very important skills you should master before taking on the role of leading a new life into this world. It worries me you act as if you are a parent and don't have those yet. But as he said, just like her, "There's no fact in what she's saying." Because yes, I rewatch videos and comment accordingly. It really feels like you didn't. I was commenting on the SUBTEXT of this woman. Which is what he was talking about too. Not what she was saying but HOW she was saying. What she was REALLY trying to say. Did you not go to 11th grade English, I know education is a privilege, and if you missed out on that I understand but DO NOT under any circumstances use that to diminish another individual's tribulations. Which is EXACTLY what you did. I said my mother DISOWNED ME. Your reply was to whine about how hard it is to be a mom and carpool to soccer as if that defends bad parenting? I am baffled. Truly and unequivocally baffled.
      Sadly for your strawman, I'm a makeup artist and I don't wear makeup daily, even when running errands. (The day in question where my mother insulted me, was a holiday get-together, hence I was wearing a full face of makeup. It was not overdone and in fact, one of my more understated looks as I only own 3 Matte pallets of n>d3 colors and remember specifically not understanding how I could look like a drag artist when using a Morphe Matte N.d3 pallet.) I only wear it when I'm working or for events. It's better for my skin. I literally defeat the argument you're trying to make about whatever type of person you assume I am and assume I think people should be based on my literal career/life balance. That's what assuming will get you, a completely defeated point.
      My comment said that a mother does not have the right to abuse their child simply because they do not share the same makeup taste as them. The fact that you missed that completely and literally lunged at the chance to attack a survivor speaking out, says so very much about you and your parenting and none of it is good. You're legitimizing C.A. through a mother being stressed.
      Here's an idea. If you are doing so much that you need to verbally abuse your children, which is what I was talking about and what YOU ARE EXCUSING. Whether you meant to or not. Then don't do so much. If your kids want to do so much that it FORCES you to treat them in a way that will permanently damage them then here's a novel thought, SAY NO. Suggest carpooling to soccer with other kids. Get therapy for yourself or invest in classes on time management. Your inability to handle stress is never and will never be your children's fault. Your comment whether you meant to or not is openly blaming children and their needs for parents' stress and their inability to handle it. If you can't see that screenshot it and take it to your therapist.
      My mother abused me, partly because she didn't want me to pursue my dreams. After all, they were not hers. Not because she didn't have time to do her makeup. You sought out a 1 YEAR-OLD COMMENT because it was a formally abused child SURVIVOR speaking out. In what way, even if you did disagree is that ever appropriate. "Oh, you were abused? Well, maybe it was YOUR FAULT!" That's what you just did. In what way is that okay in this world? Don't ever question or insult someone's trauma and abuse. What is wrong with you? The only way I can logically understand that is because you felt threatened.
      I think you know someday your kids are going to be saying the same thing. That they hated the way you talked to them. If you talk to random strangers online about some of the most difficult things a human can go through the way you just did. I can only imagine how you talk to them when you think no one will find out. On top of that, the way you talk about activities tells a lot more. I promise you if your kids are in so much crap you don't have time to think, then THEY DON'T ENJOY DOING IT. Most of the time in those situations the parents are either forcing the kids outright to do that much or they are being forced by guilt.
      Also, no one told you to have so many children that you don't have time in between events.
      Did I, or anyone, let alone your children themselves FORCE you, or anyone who acts like this, to have them let alone more than one? I mean come on, even accidentally after the first one you can't tell me you don't know where they come from. EVEN THEN, no one forced you to keep them. To get on here and whine and nag and complain, oh woe is me, I have to support my children and can't emotionally abuse them because they want to grow and be contemporary like any emotionally healthy child would.
      JFC. I feel bad for your kids. I truly do. I hope when you're alone, old in a home, bitter because no one will visit you, this comment comes to your senile old brain because someone warned you.

      You're also outright trying to hide from the fact that you lost the argument. Furthermore, I didn't bully you, honey 💗.

      You may have the right to say whatever you want online, but you also are going to get put in your place. Like you did by me & you're too much of a COWARD to even read it. Or admit you did & admit it hurt.
      But wait let me guess her big defense to this will be to whine that she won't read this either. If you can bark the bark you can bite the bite. You commented arguing to me. Then back up your argument or admit you were either wrong, or you shouldn't have started it in the first place. If you're not willing to defend your position I feel that's the only adult fair thing to do. Accept responsibility that you talked out of the wrong hole.

      @@thatdeafdaydreamer no I'm pretty sure this was a joke because of a 5 minute crafts type of video she saw. I mean, I could tell that from the beginning. It was a joke post which is why she used the bare minimum. And what she said about "these girls" and whatever. I think you and everyone else missed the joke. And Robert did too which is why he included it. I only realized it because I'm a mom and I never have time to do my makeup with 3 kids running around. So when I saw her saying, oh wait, do the curler, do the light eyeshadow below the brow, do the lipliner because the girls are doing it lol. That's what got me. Because, especially the added light shadow and lip liner....we don't do that if we're in a rush like her lmfao. We just do eyeshadow and mascara and maybe do the curl. That part cracked me up. I dont loke my lips unless my husband takes my kids to the store with him and I have maybe 1 hour to do my makeup lol then maybe I'll line my lip even though I'm insecure about it and then put on lipstick lol. Any other time I do my makeup in 20 mins or less, nah. No lip liner. And I push it with 20 mins because I'm rushing to get the kids ready. I'll do one eye. Oh I gotta dry one kid off from the bath. Then I do the next. Then dry the next kid off. Then I'll do mascara abd if I'm lucky, do eyeliner, which I suck at, while my husband gives our baby a bath. Then I dry him off and dress him (I have 3 boys lol) and then I put on mascara and just say, okay I'm done lol. Don't do anything to my brows, just my eyes and swipe on some lipstick and I'm good to go. Don't even do foundation. That was so much easier when I had one kid, or even my oldest when my middle one was a baby since babies sleep a lot and my son would help me dab on foundation lol. But no, it's a joke. If you missed it or didn't understand it, I'm sorry lol. But that whole video was just a joke from a mom making fun of 5 min crafts bs again lmfao

So it's not even like c section birth is a walk in the park.

    Im definitely a fake mom. 👍 I enjoy makeup and skincare and use it as a coping and self care tool raising 2 under 3 alone in my late 30s. It's not the flex she thinks it is to rush through makeup using bacteria laiden products that should have been tossed lifetimes ago while trashing on people who enjoy it and take their time. Her makeup looked fine. She said she never gets complaints. But she probably doesn't get compliments either. I'm no makeup guru and I'm only feeling myself half the time but I've gotten a fair share of compliments. Granted half of them were from my 68 year old mother but they happened! 😆

    • @LunarEleven
      @LunarEleven 11 місяців тому +1

      My mom did a full face of makeup every day and she was WAY ahead of her time, too. She wore falsies and did winged eyeliner when most people didn't even know how. She constantly got the "where do you find time" which has such an obvious nasty subtext.
      Being a mom doesn't mean you shouldn't find time for yourself, that's so unhealthy. Makeup isn't important to everyone and that's fine but it's so weird to be judgy because you don't care about it.
      Keep being a "fake" mom! Your mental health is important, and if makeup is the "you time" you need then do it. Nobody is superior because they gave up on looking good 😂

    • @LunarEleven
      @LunarEleven 11 місяців тому

      Also the part about her never getting complaints was just hilarious... Nobody COMPLAINS about someone not wearing makeup. Wannabe dictators? My heart sinks when I see people blindly follow the 'latest' for fear of ... what, exactly? Not being cool? So some 20-30 y/o clutches pearls at my grooming habits? Well, just look away, dearie, and leave me alone. Anyway, their time will come, too, you know. The second hand embarrassment I felt with the “over 40 “ clip was unreal! I’m not sure she understands that she doesn’t have to do her makeup like those makeup tutorials and the way she does her makeup is good for her.

    The over 40 one was absolutely
    The best reaction. You said “real mom… as opposed to what?” 😂my thoughts exactly. I’m a real mom with two real kids who likes a full beat most of the time. Haha

    9:22 I love her vibe, just the bluntness and no bullshit manner. Also, GEE WHIZ, color changing foundation not working for anyone without a porcelain white skin tone, color me surprised!

    Thank you for sounding off on the 44 yr old. I'm 61 and can tell you she was all the way off. Frankly, I love how you taught me to apply my liner. And the last shot just made me burst out laughing.
