@Josh The Stormtrooper it seems that we meet again. I’d like to point out that Jack displayed little to no fear the first time he fought Salazar when he was younger. Honestly, Davy Jones and the Flying Dutchman are a far more frightening thing to deal with than Salazar. The Dutchman could tear through ships like butter, and that’s not even mentioning the Kraken.
I agree the Silent Mary is very formidable, but at least Jones’ crew can step on land, something no one on Salazar’s crew is capable of. And I don’t think the Dutchman’s crew are any less competent than that of the Silent Mary (I won’t dwell on how much cooler I think each individual member looks as well). ''So let me show you where my cordiality is, hombre!'' *Taps sword* ''Olé ahí!!'' I am Spanish and the thing is that I think that Salazar might be from Andalucía (The southern province).
"Ahi" means "there"/"over there" in Spanish. And "Ole", if I'm not mistaken, means "hooray", "let's go", or "common". Depending on the context. So he was essentially saying "There you go" or "let's go over there", when he was giving his orders.
F**KING CHILLS MAN!! Salazar's method of interrogation is so badass and brutal just by taping his sword! And the way the silent Mary moves like that is JUST GENIUS! And thank you for uploading this in a high-quality. :)
Despite how the movie portrays him once he and his crew are cursed, Salazar is not the bad guy. He was commissioned to rid the world of pirates and make the seas safe for all, he's only mad because he was once outsmarted by a boy, who happened to be a pirate. So as long as he and his crew are "alive" their mission is still the same. In reality, pirates were absolutely cruel, bloodthirsty, raping pillagers. Sending someone like Salazar to kill them all is a necessary measure. I'm sure in actual history, there were many crews sent to do the same thing.
just dont forget that history tends to have both sides be rather bloody, there were witchhunts, murdering of people who were considered "heretics", the spanish the british empire in many ways were more cruel than the pirates, the only diffrence is that they were more civil I suppose, history has no good or bad guys just people with the bigger stick really, not trying to say pirates are any better either, they pretty savage, but so were the british and spanish especially in their methods of punishment and biases against certain people. not to mention im pretty sure they had many slaves taken from africa Etc. Salazaar maybe somewhat righteous but it could be argued that his methods could be a bit too brutal and genocidal, especially considering not all of the ships that he would of destroyed could of been pirates either.
Not really, Pirates were mostly trafficant that rarely fought. They were outcasts, desertors, escaped slaves. Some of them with a kinf of proto-anarchist ideal.
There was many who were sent to kill pirates a famous one Ocracoke South Carolina thats where Blackbeard met his end what happened was a ship lay idle on the sea so him and his crew leaped onboard to see if there was any loot but then suddenly from below deck out rushed LT Robert Maynard and a small force of sailors who immediately engaged the pirates in a fierce battle after numerous gunshot and Sword injuries Blackbeard was Killed which immediately caused a surrender of his remaining crew
The pirates were just stealing what the Spanish and English had already stolen. Besides most pirates were originally privateers so the monarchies had no problem with pirates until they stopped working for them
I adore Armando Salazar's accent. I repeatedly watch this scene, among others, just to listen to his accent. And he's the best villain POTC has ever had, IMO. Absolutely no mercy!
I'm and English teacher, and I showed this clip to my students to show them how in old English we see the use of Be more commonly instead of (am, is and are). And "the morrow" instead of "tomorrow" :) They loved it so much. And I'm sure due to the intense visuals and performance in this clip they will never forget this piece of info. Thanks for sharing.
Not even close, its badass but there are so many other scenes in the potc franchise. The kraken, Davy Jones's first arrival, The spanish captain's Somebody make a note of that man's bravery, Cursed Barbossa drinking rum and it falling through his bones etc
Imagine if Barbossa was still cursed and Salazar tried to kill him first. Barbossa would just look at the sword through his chest and go "that's cute."
Salazar’s crew must be surprisingly coordinated to know not to all act at once on Salazar’s first tap of the sword and potentially slaughter Barbossa’s crew. The only thing I can guess is that with each tap of the sword, a certain one of Salazar’s crew has to act. Namely, Salazar’s first mate always kills with the first tap, the second mate with the second and so on down the ranks. Otherwise, imagine what would happen Salazar’s sword tapped once and three of Barbossa’s crew died because three of Salazar’s crew acted impulsively.
Armando Salazar and his crew are my inspirations. Hardened, sea going men with a confident and fearless step and stride, knowing they carry the ability to strike fear in people's hearts with no verbosity needed, all while handling their issues with a ruthless, yet cunning and light hearted confident fashion. Love it.
The entire crew of Silent Mary was so underrated really. It's really sad and also anger provoking that they weren't shown enough on screen. They bought a whole new game to the world of POTC as the 'villains'.
Salazar's "hombre" absolutely kills me. So jovial and callous at the same time, like he doesn't even regard pirates as humans. The actor played Anton Chigurh right? I would say he's perfect at playing the "cold-blooded killer who jokes with you while gutting you" type.
One of the best things about POTC undead enemies is that they have no trouble operating under sunlight. Davy Jones' fish-people, Salazar's ghosts...it's such a disturbing scene to see them in front of a clear-as-washed blue sky.
I love how they have Salazar in alot of daylight scenes, so u can really see him. Cuz obviously he looks like a night creature. Little things like that may have a genius behind it.
For as great of characters as this series introduced, and many of them still good right up to this movie, says even more about how good Javier Bardem's performance of Armano Salazar was. He literally carries this movie, hes like Josh Brolin as Thanos
I wish we got to see and learn more about Lesaro in the film. He was technically a major villain because he was an antagonist with about 5 lines (About 3 of off those being "Capitan!") Salazar is really cool but unlike the other movies there is only one main villain
Couldn't believe who was playing as Salazar, was real happy to see him! There's a few actors in here that I grew up watching in other films, was such a treat to see them in here. :)
I like how Barbossa transformed the Queen Anne's Revenge in the 4th movie the middle mast was damaged, the ship was very dirty, the sails were stained, it looked gross. under his command now, the ship looked way better, also better than the Pearl when it was cursed
just imagine as a pirate to stand before someone as horrifying looking as Salazar, knowing that he nearly wiped out all pirates BEFORE he turned into what he is now
Bro, The Coordination Between His Crew When He Taps His Sword, It's So Organized Because It Ain't Just a Bunch of People Randomly Stabbing The Others When They Hear The Sword
One of the most disappointing aspects of these last two pirate movies is we never get to see their crazy powerful ships do any real epic battles like at worlds end. It’s just one undead crew after another
Max De Wijs true, but I like Salazar character better, like he's this big shot that was humiliated by some 18 year old kid and was beaten, and since he was trapped for a long time it was like a constant reminder of his downfall and must have driven him insane over the years

WaaaghbossOrkamungus Ole it’s like saying hooray if I’m not mistaken. For example if your favorite team wins we say ole as a way of celebrating.
''Olé ahí'' could be translated as ''There you go''
Salazar is totally andaluz hombre XD
"Ahi" means "there"/"over there" in Spanish. And "Ole", if I'm not mistaken, means "hooray", "let's go", or "common". Depending on the context. So he was essentially saying "There you go" or "let's go over there", when he was giving his orders.
F**KING CHILLS MAN!! Salazar's method of interrogation is so badass and brutal just by taping his sword! And the way the silent Mary moves like that is JUST GENIUS! And thank you for uploading this in a high-quality. :)
Captain J. Dreadful lol then he says “OLEEE”
julio alvaro 😂😂😂👌
Oh how I wish this was better movie, cause Salazar alone deserves to be in a better one.
AGREED 🤝
Not really, Pirates were mostly trafficant that rarely fought.
They were outcasts, desertors, escaped slaves. Some of them with a kinf of proto-anarchist ideal.
There was many who were sent to kill pirates a famous one
Ocracoke South Carolina thats where Blackbeard met his end what happened was a ship lay idle on the sea so him and his crew leaped onboard to see if there was any loot but then suddenly from below deck out rushed
LT Robert Maynard and a small force of sailors who immediately engaged the pirates in a fierce battle after numerous gunshot and Sword injuries Blackbeard was Killed which immediately caused a surrender of his remaining crew
The pirates were just stealing what the Spanish and English had already stolen. Besides most pirates were originally privateers so the monarchies had no problem with pirates until they stopped working for them
What a great actor, the look of fear on his face.
I adore Armando Salazar's accent. I repeatedly watch this scene, among others, just to listen to his accent. And he's the best villain POTC has ever had, IMO. Absolutely no mercy!
Davy Jones is kinda overrated, anyway.
Because he is from España, the accent is far different in comparison with E.E.U.U and England.
Mercy? There is no mercy.
@Josh The Stormtrooper Uh, I don't think you know exactly what I meant here.
That’s Javier Bardem BTW
At 2:05 I like how Barbossa is intimidated and Salazar is taking advantage of it by insulting him 😂😂😂
I'm and English teacher, and I showed this clip to my students to show them how in old English we see the use of Be more commonly instead of (am, is and are). And "the morrow" instead of "tomorrow" :)
They loved it so much. And I'm sure due to the intense visuals and performance in this clip they will never forget this piece of info.
Thanks for sharing.
"Olé ahí!"
"Hombre!"
💃🏻🇪🇦
I CRIED LAUGHING 😂😂😂😂
the 5 taps "you can take what's left of them" is the most badass moment of the entire pirate's franchise
A great way to say you’re welcome while destroying their morale
Not even close, its badass but there are so many other scenes in the potc franchise. The kraken, Davy Jones's first arrival, The spanish captain's Somebody make a note of that man's bravery, Cursed Barbossa drinking rum and it falling through his bones etc
Great scene and Salarzer sounds like a kid as he say "There is no treasure"
Star Lord that's what I said when my dad was playing skyrim and he was entering a cave😂
Yea, and I love how Barbossa remains calm when Salazar orders his men to kill Barbossa's crew.
No he said "There is no Trident" but his accent is just thick but I'm really not sure myself
Yup😂😍
2:39 when you don't get a toy in your happy meal
Salazar: *jumps behind barbossa*
Barbossa face: It was in this moment he knew, he fucked up
Imagine if Barbossa was still cursed and Salazar tried to kill him first. Barbossa would just look at the sword through his chest and go "that's cute."
@Allen Reyes Salazar could have been a good mix of the original 3 villains. I just wish his movie was better.
2:21 that olé ahí always gets me hahaha
1:37 When youre the only ghost guy that has a beard.
😂 I didn't notice that
Perhaps his age granted it to him. Maybe the spanish navy had rules on being clean shaven or something?🤷♂️
"let me show you what my cordiality is, hombre" Bardem is so great
1:32 I love how that ghost looks at the guy behind him like "You really tried that?"
2:57 love that laugh!
That's me when someone keeps on telling me really shit jokes but eventually tells a funny one
@@mistamysteriuh SO TRUE XD

Salazar is a total badass!
Yes because hear flying
Imagine all of barbossa crew and him turned into skeleton during the night. That would be badass
Javier stole the show, impeccable as always.
"You better start believing in ghost stories Captain Salazar"
"You are one"

Salazars ship: Definition of Fear
Bullshit. Davy Jones' is.
@StarkMMO ha year right salazar would wreak the Flying Dutchman easily
@@Admiral_fed-up74 The Dutchman is indestructible
@StarkMMO are you ok the Silent Mary to easily take down the Flying Dutchman
Imagine sailing in barbossa's ship and seeing that
0:58 Tie Fighter Sound
Also called the Howie Long Scream.
LOL
THAT's what that sound was! Thank you! I thought that sound was familiar, I just could never place it.
Hey, thanks! :)
Jacksetereye rocky it’s not from the game. It’s from an old movie or something but a lot of movies/games used that scream as an Easter egg
Honestly, yeah. This checks out quite nice
I'm Spanish and I swear to everything that's holy and pure that I can make out what Salazar says here (2:21).
Ole ahí
the way Salazar says hombre is just perfect.
Best villain since...ever!
I was watching the movie for just him the entire time, nothing else!
Um...
Love it.
More like a single minded psychopath who kills pirates as a cover.
The entire crew of Silent Mary was so underrated really. It's really sad and also anger provoking that they weren't shown enough on screen. They bought a whole new game to the world of POTC as the 'villains'.
The fact that Salazar add Spanish words just makes this movie so funny and entertaining.
Salazar tipical name portuguese ditator
0:58 We interrupt this featured presentation to bring you Star Wars.
1:44 That landing always gets me, matched with the floating hair effects. Damn.
Salazar's "hombre" absolutely kills me. So jovial and callous at the same time, like he doesn't even regard pirates as humans.
The actor played Anton Chigurh right? I would say he's perfect at playing the "cold-blooded killer who jokes with you while gutting you" type.
The Howie Long Scream at 0:58 gets me every time 😂😂
Overused lmao
Just reminds me of bf1
😒😒😒I Hate That Scream😒😒😒
It's *Very Annoying* For Me.
I love the fact that they got Salazar in quite a few daylight scenes. It makes you really look at him. The graphics is cool.
2:40 THERE IS NO TRESHAAA, THERE IS NO TRESHAA THA CAN SAV HEM!🤣It reminds me of Tommy Wiseau!!
I did not hit her, i did not!
Oh hi Mark
you're tearing me apart, TREASHA!
0:41: I love Lesaro in that scene, he's like: "Ok, I'll move. Get off me, man".
Lol
I wish we got to see and learn more about Lesaro in the film. He was technically a major villain because he was an antagonist with about 5 lines (About 3 of off those being "Capitan!") Salazar is really cool but unlike the other movies there is only one main villain
Couldn't believe who was playing as Salazar, was real happy to see him! There's a few actors in here that I grew up watching in other films, was such a treat to see them in here. :)
*"Hombre!"*
*"Olé, ahíi!"*
I like how Barbossa transformed the Queen Anne's Revenge
in the 4th movie the middle mast was damaged, the ship was very dirty, the sails were stained, it looked gross.
under his command now, the ship looked way better, also better than the Pearl when it was cursed
Javier Bardem really made this movie imo! It's a fun, dumb flick with problems but holy shit, Salazar is just so much fun to watch!
0:48 and the ship has the most appropriate name 'silent' mary
Barbossa: "Are you going to kill me?"
Salazar: "That depends. Do you see me?"
just imagine as a pirate to stand before someone as horrifying looking as Salazar, knowing that he nearly wiped out all pirates BEFORE he turned into what he is now
I could watch this scene all day. I love it! “Every time I tap my sword, one of your men will die, so I suggest you speak quickly.”
Everything aside from the writing in this movie is incredible. The art direction, the music, the acting etc. it’s all epic
I love Capitan Salazar! He's my favourite character!
2:38 *”NO THERE IS NO TREASURE IT IS NOT TRUE IT IS NOT! OH HI MARK”*
I love how Salazar accent sounds so Spanish
2:22 ole ahi , im spanish and like salazar trying to make the English with that Spanish 😂😂🤣
Xavi Montagud What? Haha but I know what you mean
Bro, The Coordination Between His Crew When He Taps His Sword, It's So Organized Because It Ain't Just a Bunch of People Randomly Stabbing The Others When They Hear The Sword
I honestly love the antagonist of this movie so much, they had so much potential. The movie could’ve dealt with them better
I was only interested in the movie because I liked how Bardem played the villain of Skyfall. But this movie wasted Bardem
Captain salazar was poetry in motion
I was so happy they added the Spanish too this because just like the English both were soooo brutal and powerful on the seas.
I NEVER recognized them in the theater at 0:10. It’s Murtogg and Mullroy!
Yes, the former British red coats soldiers
How did they survive?
@@Reliavl they just did lmao

One of the most disappointing aspects of these last two pirate movies is we never get to see their crazy powerful ships do any real epic battles like at worlds end. It’s just one undead crew after another

Capitan Salazar is The most terrifying Opponent jack has ever faced
Ed Reillo And Barbossa has faced...
Ed Reillo To me i think Davy Jones was the worst foe jack has ever faced and the Kraken.
Nemesis Prime yep
Max De Wijs true, but I like Salazar character better, like he's this big shot that was humiliated by some 18 year old kid and was beaten, and since he was trapped for a long time it was like a constant reminder of his downfall and must have driven him insane over the years
What the hell HELL NO davy jones is the most fearsome davy jones is the sea and can summone the kraken that can swallow salazar with eas and davy jones stated that he is the sea he knows where is the tridant or can also summone the kraken to swallow salazar davy jones would reck him with eas
2:31 - 2:44 My favorite part!
I like how Salazar rolls his R's
I don't know but this movie, made me realize how epic the Spanish Navy was back then. They hunted pirates indeed.
1:47 I just love the look of absolutely fear on his face
