One of the 'things' I love about the Thing is that he's not the strongest guy out there, even tho he is capable of benching 85tons, but that he's one of the most bravest, noble, and a very physical character who's not afraid to mix it up with ANYBODY in the MCU.

i bet he is, but imho, Colossus is even MORE underrated than The Thing is in the Marvel universe. Colossus has fought opponents just as tough that Thing has like Juggernaut and even the Hulk, and managed to hold his own fairly well for awhile against them too.
Yeah like I know Hulk beats the Thing most of the time, but if you think of it Thing and Colossus should definitely be able to take Hulk, the comics are dumb sometimes and underrate certain characters
I wasn't sure how he managed that. Red Hulk power punched Colossus square in the forehead, it did literally nothing, but Ben Grimm held his own? It was a definite wtf moment to me since Colossus with his normal powers is stronger and much more durable than Ben
I rarely base my opinions on weight lifting. We all know both of these lovable giants will push far beyond measurements to protect or defeat the correct enemy. My vote goes to thing not to colossus’ detriment, I just think Ben always has the “x-factor” upper hand much like captain America. They just always find a way to win.
As a fitness Enthusiast, I just love the fact that Colossus likes to be out of his metal form and work out that way he could grow stronger, that's how he went from only being able to lift 70 tons as a teenager to over 100 as an adult😊
I’m voting that the Thing wins. So underrated in terms of feats. And you can never discount a guy who has his heart in a fight and refuses to give up. I love Ben Grimm.

Because original Marvel history had Col. at 70 tons and Ben at 85 tons, I always felt Marvel intended Ben to be stronger, even if they both grew over the years in strength. Also I always felt Ben was more durable because he could take more of a beating from what I have seen in comics. Writers do change this to suit the story at hand but I think Ben is a tad stronger and more durable under what was intended which is why Col. fought Juggernaut as an enemy while Ben fought Hulk. To me this fight should go to Thing, but not by much.
OK, love this video. Very, very close battle with excellent points on both sides. Though I agree with your initial point about disregarding the stone vs. steel argument I also disagree with your point about The Thing's fighting prowess not being an equalizing factor. Thing has fought Galactus among a myriad of other cosmic level entities where pure strength or durability would a negligible factor. Meaning, he can fight people way, way, way above his weight class. Now granted, Colossus has fought Apocalypse (OP nonsense guy) but Thing has gone toe to toe with World Breaker Hulk (the definitive Hulk power level) so it's not a wash. Thing is just too good to lose. It's that simple. Love your channel. Keep up the good work. If you want to discuss this in further depth I am all about it, message me. Holla!
David Eduardo Gonzalez 1 Hulk easily 2 not sure 50/50 3 great fight but I gotta pick Lobo here 4 Dr Doom 5 Galactus very easily unless Thanos has infinity gauntlet or some other similar power boost

Dr. Doom will seriously stomp. 5. Even worse stomp. Galactus will ERASE Thanos from his presence. Only eay Thanos will in is with the Infinity Gaunlet or The Heart of The Universe, which lets Thanos do the stomping. Either way someone stomps.
These two are for sure in the same power bracket, it would be *very* close. Although I think you made a point in saying that Ben is a dirtier street fighter and overall, I see him as a nastier, more rough person, and I think that personality would really aid him in an all out fight.
Technically Colossus should trounce Ben...but given how Marvel writes up Colossus essentially as a punching bag for pretty much everyone he fights, Ben would stomp him, crush him like a tin can, and flick him into a dumpster in like two minutes...
Douglas Bryant magneto's powers don't work against Colossus as he is made pf organic steel and it is shown in the comics (even though tey always get that wrong in the shows and sometimes in the comica
In "Champion of the Universe" from 1982, the Champion challenges most of the well known powerhouses on earth to fight him one on one. I'm not sure if it's regarded as canon, but I've always seen it as a testament to the Thing's abilities in a fair fight.
I haven't been into comics for a long time, but going by their stats from the 80s and the 90s (yes, I know it was a long time ago), Thing was slightly stronger, Colossus was slightly more durable, Thing was a far superior fighter, so Thing would win. Nowadays, super powered individuals are so grossly overpowered in the comics that nothing would surprise me anymore.
Cool video. I see that, in 2022's comic X Men #16, Cyclops says this about an imminent fight with a mean post-human: "This one's stronger than Colossus - maybe stronger than Ben Grimm ... so don't hold back". So that's a ringing endorsement for The Thing.
The Thing wins over Colossus! The Thing did a much better job back in Marvel-Two-in-One Annual # 7 against the Champion and the Thing has better fighting skills, a greater will to win and has more experience. The Thing rocks!
You're right about the Thing being able to hear without, but in addition to that his hearing has a high resistance to sonic attacks. Colossus is more durable, but I find it hard to believe that Wolverine couldn't slash through Colossus when he has sliced through the Hulk causing him even bleed at least a little. There was even a What If story where Wolverine killed the Hulk. That wasn't probable, but it was possible.
100 tonnes? Reed Richards was quoting as saying he'd never came across a weight the thing couldn't lift and he's tested him over the years. Come on guys. Colossus is strong but not "the thing" strong.
I have to believe that Reed Richards came up with a holo training regimen for the FF that is every bit as sophisticated as the programs the X Men train with.
Disagree strongly on this one. The thing has lasted longer against the Hulk than colossus has consistently and has gone toe to toe with things the Xmen struggle against
Good match-up! I want Ben to win but they both have fought Gladiator. Gladiator knocked Ben through five city blocks worth of buildings and vehicles, whereas Colossus has fought Gladiator to a stand-still. Sorry Ben
The funny thing is that Colossus is usually the first to get KO'd in every situation. While I like both characters, I got a softer spot for Unca Benny, the ever-lovin' blue-eyed Thing and Idol of millions. Yeah I'm playin' favorites. Nuff said.
Remember that the Champion of the Universe pretty easily beat Colossus. Only The Thing gave him a real fight. If you are not familiar with that story read Marvel-Two-In-One Annual #7. Not only is it a great read, but it gives pretty clear evidence that The Thing would beat Colossus in a fair fight, and The Ever-Lovin' Blue Eyed Thing doesn't always fight fair.
It's strange that Adamantium can't cut colossus but can cut the thing given the fact that colossus' limbs have been torn multiple times.(also, adamantium is a heavier metal than vibranium even though both have high durability.)
I heard both sides. Now before I hear your take on it, I'm gonna give my opinion. The Thing curbs stomps Colossus. Colossus may be physically stronger, but The Thing goes toe to toe with Hulk on a regular basis, and the Hulk annihilates Colossus easily. Hulk has lifted a 150 billion ton mountain range before, so Ven Grimm is no stranger to strong guys. Okay, now for the results.
I say Colossus. He is in a slightly higher strength tier. More durable. Wolverine's claws can cut Colossus, but usually only rake against him, yet they disfigured Thing. Thing has the edge as a fighter, but Colossus is no slump. Biggest teller though? Their compared feat against Gladiator. Gladiator and Colossus went toe to toe slugging it out, Gladiator eventually won, but it was a fight. Thing vs Gladiator is always hopelessly one sided, Gladiator took Thing out with one hit before. I mean it would be a good fight, and neither takes it 10 outta 10, or maybe not even 7 outta 10. However I would say Colossus wins it more often than he loses, no disrespect to Thing.
Colossus can't be cut by Wolverine at all. The only thing Wolverine managed to cut him. He had some mystic amp that made him way stronger and he couldn't still get really deep. Only scratch
Marvel Two-in-One Annual #7 is all the proof you need. The Thing goes the distance against the Champion, an Elder of the Universe. Colossus didn't even make it out of the first round.
Dynamo001 I would have to give it to Ben as well. As he is said to be immortal due to the fact rock doesn't melt and if I am correct, Ben can breathe underwater to a point. Or was that just an invisible woman thing. one example of this is Avengers vs X-Men of Ben and Luke Cage vs Namor.
My man FORGETS The Thing getting"restored" by Galactus and "rejuvenated "by Torch holding a "youth ray"; BOTH were said to make him stronger. Durability? THING DID WAYYYY better against CHAMPION, in Durability, skill AND WILL. Colossus is a poet at heart while Thing has been a fighter of some kind(street, military,Superhero) all his life. DANCO has already said how much he LOVES the XMEN and its clouding his judgment. Thing has more feats and more IMPORTANTLY, THING DOES BETTER IN ONE ON ONE FIGHTS. Two of my faves(Love Colossus more) but NO WAY Thing loses.10/10.
I'd have to give it to the Thing, based solely on his consistently demonstrated willpower. There's been times Colossus has gone soft, and even though you're probably right that he is more powerful, I just think in the way comics are written, the will to be in that fight would matter more.
I would say the Thing. During the Secret Wars colossus was taken out with a crowbar to the lower back. He was out the rest of the story. (Could you make Apocalypse vs Kang?)
This would be one of the best fights, pretty even across the board. Colossus is arguably stronger, but not by a lot if he even is. Durability is comparable when it comes to blunt force trauma. The Thing definitely seems to be the more skilled fighter, and definitely has one of the most renowned "never quit" attitudes in comics. I'd have to put my money on Ben Grimm to win this.
This fight is almost no contest, the Thing will win this fight hands down! I like Colossus, but he would NOT be a match for the Thing. I can't believe how disrespected the Thing has become.
Ezra Thirum - You obviously know nothing. Colossus is too much of a nice guy. The Thing would housebreak Colossus in minutes. You are obviously a deluded X-Man homer.
Todd Sands Nad dude seriously shut up. Watch the fights they had with Gladiator or Juggernaut. Ben gets whooped, while the other gets to shine(no pun).
King of Ebla - Who you telling to shut up!? You Shut Up!! (don't get too bent out of shape) Ahem...Actually you can't compare things that way. You're looking at things a bit too obtuse. Ben Grimm has fought a lot more super baddies than Colossus. From what I remember, Colossus has been jobbed so many times from many fights, it's hard to count them. You are obviously an X-Men fan/homer. Colossus is NOT a certifiable tough guy. He's often been portrayed as too nice despite his impressive metal physique. Ben Grimm is a fighter, from the gritty streets of NYC, has military training. And has been involved in much more super scrapes than Colossus. The Thing has beaten the Sub Mariner (in water) multiple times. Despite losing to the Hulk many times, the Thing has beaten the Hulk a few times (Colossus has not). The Thing has KOed the Silver Surfer. And the Thing has even held his own against Thor although he has never beaten the Thunder God. And in my opinion, Thor has proven to be mightier than the Juggernaut. And Thor has beaten Gladiator and has also gotten his ass kicked by Gladiator at the same time. Remember, experience counts for something. And Ben Grimm has that all over Colossus. Just look at things objectively and remove the X-Men pom-poms from your hands...lol.
Todd Sands Nevermind, I found out(not because of you) that the Thing's strength level has been amped since he fought Gladiator. Colossus would have to say, "welcome to the big leagues, kid".
Colossus would be curb stomped. This isn't even a contest. They are both class 100 strength, but Thing's feats put him well beyond Colossus'. Also, Colossus is vulnerable to both anti-metal vibranium and adamantuim, despite your claim that Wolverine couldn't hurt him. In Mavel Two-in-One Annual #7(1982) The Champion of the Universe came to Earth and explained how he goes from world to world battling the strongest beings on a given planet for the thrill of the fight and prove himself as the undisputed champion of the universe, boasting that none have survived to fight a second round against him. Colossus was beaten so badly that he had to be carried out on a stretcher. No matter what the Champion did, thing kept getting up. The Champion finally concedes the fight, admitting that while he could break Thing's bones, he could never break his spirit, and didn't want to inflict further injury on him.
thing would beat colossus in a good fight. both have the potential to be 100+ tonners, colossus probably has the durability advantage but thing has the fighting skills and willpower to put colossus down
Your wrong about Colossus only staying transformed for 5 days. He had a dent in his skull in metal form that if he transformed back to flesh and blood would kill him. he stayed in metal form for months or possibly years due to the time warping of comic publishing. During this time he joined magnetos Acolytes.
DanCo....That has to be the absolute best break down of 2 combatants strengths and weakness. I would love for you to do one on....The Black Widow Vs. Electra....Hell yea..!!!!!!
Damn can Ben beat anybody???Thing's my road dawg always especially with his long time experience as a true superhero and his no quit attitude and courage 🤔
It depends on the writer... Years ago I read a strength listing for virtually all the Marvel hero's... Thing was rated above Colossus and below Hulk...
GCPD but what part of the event WWH are talking about- the regular wwh or the one in the end of the story when he slams the hole New York with his foot?
I love Colossus, but I think the Thing has this one. They've shown Colossus' bones getting broken numerous times, but I don't remember ever seeing the Thing's bones break. Powers aside, Colossus is an artist, and Ben is a freaking hero, a test pilot boxer adventurer. I think his mental maturity is going to give him the upper hand. Colosso-naut is a different story....
X-Fan 4 Life here, and as much as I WANT to see Colossus get the W on this one, Thing's more consistent experience against more numerous top-tier opponents give him enough of an edge to overcome what advantage Colossus may have in durability. Thing for the win.
Sorry but you're totally wrong. The Thing literally has unlimited stamina plus his skin and organs are all impervious to all but adamantium blades. Colossus couldn't hurt him enough to beat him plan and simple.
It'll be a brawl and Ben Grimm is a brawler to the tenth power so in the end it'll be the Thing that would win via dirty boxing and just plain savagery!
The Thing would win because: 1) he WILL fight dirty (a la the 'nad shot in the movie that laid Colossus out). 2) he will NOT give up or quit, whereas Colossus does not have NEARLY that drive to win at all costs. So you got it wrong. Buster Douglas showed what a drive to win (his mom died right before his fight with Iron Mike Tyson) can do against a superior opponent with less motivation.
colossus is stronger and more durable whatever skill advantage ben has won't make up for that difference its not a stomp but colossus will win.....both are well behind characters like Hulk and Juggernaut though.
Was it ever mentioned the weight of both of them..?? Although weight really doesn't have much to do with who'll win the fight I'm just curious as to they referenced how The Thing strength has increased over the years, I was wondering did his weight also increase. My comic book collecting days was from the late 1960's thru. 1983 but I still have comics that listed The Thing at 6 feet tall and 800.lbs...Just curious if you or anybody has the updated pedigree on those two...
yah I keep thinking THING only because he been around the block longer been in a lot of knock down drag out fights and had to use smarts or fight dirty. Took Colossus a lot longer to come around and use full strength. In the Danger room Colossus threw wolverine so much they had to come up with the Character Cannonball eventually Natural Mutation Adaptive story telling.
This was interesting……I like both characters. I always knew that colossus was strong but I didn’t think he was as strong as The Thing. And based on years of reading comics plus movies and cartoons…..I would still give a slight Edge to the Thing, and The Thing is without a doubt the better Fighter. To me they are almost evenly matched.
One of the 'things' I love about the Thing is that he's not the strongest guy out there, even tho he is capable of benching 85tons, but that he's one of the most bravest, noble, and a very physical character who's not afraid to mix it up with ANYBODY in the MCU.
I think the 85ton press is overhead like a standing military press.
He may not be the Strongest Super Joe out but at least he's the handsomest !!!😃
In the fantastic four movie he lifted the 1,000 ton London eye..
I agree. I think the thing was underrated and he may get out of wind in two hours but in most cases that's all he needs.
Col is crazy
You're also forgetting about The Champion. You know, that guy who originally had the Power Infinity Stone. When he challenged all of earth's strongest fighters. You forgot to mention that Colossus is also one of the few that can go toe to toe with Juggernaut.
ben grimm, no doubt about it
These two are for sure in the same power bracket, it would be *very* close.
Really i was going for colossus
Magneto should've torn Colossus apart instead of Wolverine. I never understood the fascination with this character. He's a scrub.
Douglas Bryant magneto's powers don't work against Colossus as he is made pf organic steel and it is shown in the comics (even though tey always get that wrong in the shows and sometimes in the comica
@@douglasbryant2556 lmao colossus could always just go back into human form, use your logic
Its true...colossus is an obviously(by looks) tough character. So he gets his butt kicked just to show how tough SOMEONE ELSE is.
The thing is definitely more powerful and it's even more clear in recent years, he wins
Taskmaster vs Batman
Tyreik X yes please
Tyreik X taskmaster I would think
Giuseppe Wood, me too.
Tyreik X i think batman
ihaveto takeashit, if it's random, I don't see how Batman could adapt to the different fighting styles.
Depending on which continuity, marvel 616 vs Champion of the Universe it's the Thing hands down.
Would like to see some battle of the brains.
Damn close, but I gotta give the *Slight* edge to he Thing
Cool video. I see that, in 2022's comic X Men #16, Cyclops says this about an imminent fight with a mean post-human: "This one's stronger than Colossus - maybe stronger than Ben Grimm ... so don't hold back". So that's a ringing endorsement for The Thing.
This is a great battle DanCo
Damn Nice Man! I knew you'd eventually make this battle! Didn't watch yet but ima say Colossus. Tough one tho
Ayyyyy I got it! Nice video as always dude. Fights like this one are the best.
I have to believe that Reed Richards came up with a holo training regimen for the FF that is every bit as sophisticated as the programs the X Men train with.
There was an issue in the comics were Colossus fought the Hulk and lost miserably.Hes punches didn't even hurt the Hulk.
I remember in the X-Men WW Hulk crossover, Hulk beat Wolverine into a concussion and broke both of Colossus's arms.
Aaron Alejos Colossus has fared significiantly better versus Gladiator than Ben, and WWH faced more of a challenge against the X-man as well.
Colossus can survive the vacuum of space in his armored form.
Thing has beaten namor the submariner underwater, which is far beyond anything we've ever seen colossus do!
Marvel Two-in-One Annual #7 is all the proof you need. The Thing goes the distance against the Champion, an Elder of the Universe. Colossus didn't even make it out of the first round.
I'd give it to the Thing. He's more consistently held his own against the Hulk and more of the Heavy hitters.
colossus definitely wins this 1 because he is far more durable and stronger than the thing
Son of Chelsea thats a good point, but if you think about it, the thing is a better fighter and usually goes toe to toe wih the hulk
Jonah Barroga what if hulk is in world breaker form
Chris Carranza hulk is by far more powerfup but the thing has won fights against the hulk
the thing shouldn't have won any fight against the hulk, he's literally a rock man and the hulk eats rocks for breakfast lol
Darwen Cortez with someone else's blood that he beat as the substitute for milk lol
Great video Dan. it's a tough one to call but i think that colossus edges it by the finest of margins.
Ol' Ben has got the experience and the attitude..I gotta give it to The Thing...
Good to see that this is a Marvel Vs Marvel battle so it wouldn't come down to which you like better: Marvel or DC
I'd give it to ol' Benji. He just knows how to think on his feet and would find a way to KO the Russkie.
Dynamo001 RKO out of nowhere!
Dynamo001 I agree
Dynamo001 I would have to give it to Ben as well. As he is said to be immortal due to the fact rock doesn't melt and if I am correct, Ben can breathe underwater to a point. Or was that just an invisible woman thing.
one example of this is Avengers vs X-Men of Ben and Luke Cage vs Namor.
Dynamo001 Jack for the win
Def
this is more of a philosophical question but it will be a good fight who do you think would win? astronauts or cavemen?
Captain America vs Wolverine would be interesting! 💯 btw good video bro
I'm gonna probably give it to The Thing. He seems bigger and stronger, and capable of causing more destructive damage.
Ben Grimm wins. They both fought the Champion. Both were beaten until they left a trail of blood, but Ben did not lose.
James Meritt I agree. I remember that fight. the thing would not give up. he considers himself a monster so did not worry about the abuse he took
winner winner chicken dinner!
You forgot that The Thing was the last man standing against the Champion of the Universe... So he might not be as strong but he can take a lot more!
This fight is almost no contest, the Thing will win this fight hands down! I like Colossus, but he would NOT be a match for the Thing. I can't believe how disrespected the Thing has become.
shut up colossus would wreck thing
During this time he joined magnetos Acolytes.
do hurclules vs wonder women to see witch of them are the real sons or daughters of zeus
Considering that Colossus was being outfought in Deadpool by a character who wouldn't last 5 minutes with Ben Grimm, The Thing wins this one.
Yea I agree Colossus wins. More power and durability. Next fight do Lobo vs. The Sentry
DanCo....That has to be the absolute best break down of 2 combatants strengths and weakness. I would love for you to do one on....The Black Widow Vs. Electra....Hell yea..!!!!!!
Damn can Ben beat anybody???Thing's my road dawg always especially with his long time experience as a true superhero and his no quit attitude and courage 🤔
... And no way was he impervious to Wolverine's claws. I guess he's gotten some beefing up in the Ultimates realm.
Gotta give it to Colossus, my favorite X-MEN growing up!
It depends on the writer... Years ago I read a strength listing for virtually all the Marvel hero's... Thing was rated above Colossus and below Hulk...
can you do unstoppable colossus vs world war hulk please
I agree with you 100%
unstoppable colossus is simply colossus with the juggernaut's power
GCPD but what part of the event WWH are talking about- the regular wwh or the one in the end of the story when he slams the hole New York with his foot?
Red Hulk has beaten the Unstoppable Colossus in the X-men vs The Avengers so I think World War Hulk would easily beat Unstoppable Colossus.
GCPD lol ok then sory but i am not shure.. i will put my money to wwh
Thing wins. He’s significantly stronger and will do anything to win. He’s also fought characters who scale above collosus
Thing for the win.
didn't thing hold an entire oil rig by himself? that rig was probably heavier than the submarine that colossus held out of the ocean
The thing of course, he can take out doom by him self and he has stronger punch
And breaking doom's hands.
Dang. I like this conversation. Nice channel bro!
Sorry Thing wins, read Challenge of Champions.
Was that the one with the visiting alien looking for a boxing match? Good one if so.
Ya but read thing vs colossus avengers vs x-men
Spoiler alert colossus wins😂😂
UncannyX 654 colossus was powered by the gem of cytorak... thing would win.
Smoke Is a God nahhh still my moneys on colossus he would woop that ass😂😂😂
Sorry but you're totally wrong. The Thing literally has unlimited stamina plus his skin and organs are all impervious to all but adamantium blades. Colossus couldn't hurt him enough to beat him plan and simple.
It'll be a brawl and Ben Grimm is a brawler to the tenth power so in the end it'll be the Thing that would win via dirty boxing and just plain savagery!
Thank you so much for making this video.... I've always wondered who would win between my 2 favorite Marvel characters in a fight....
the thing , I think is the least respected hero at marvel comics...
The Thing would win because:
1) he WILL fight dirty (a la the 'nad shot in the movie that laid Colossus out).
Colossus is not stronger. Both are ranked at class 100 strength.
NOVA Akuma no way NOVA thats impossible for ben and colossus is at least 100x times stronger then ben and colossus could punch Bens head right off
Adam Newton that's true even the hulk, world war hulk admitted he'd be a hell of an opponent if he was back on earth
Agrir Thing is unstoppable...when he got boosted into that mode he came into the category of MCU killers
colossus just looks cool. him and gambit are my favorite X-mens
Honhoa Ong same dude
I'd add Wolverine to that, top 3
This was interesting……I like both characters. I always knew that colossus was strong but I didn’t think he was as strong as The Thing. And based on years of reading comics plus movies and cartoons…..I would still give a slight Edge to the Thing, and The Thing is without a doubt the better Fighter. To me they are almost evenly matched.
Thing wins, he's more skilled...
Wolverine has cut Colossus' steel skin multiple times
