This makes me miss my e60 so much. Theres just something about the way they handle. I have an e70 x5 30d at the moment. It is also mapped to 1.9bar and feels very strong. The xdrive is also has its advantages. I would still buy an e60 530d lci given the chance. We dont have many 530xd where i live. If we did, that would probably be the ultimate for me. I love this generation of BMW's. Even the e90 and e92 are great vehicles.
This generation of BMW's were really cool. (Expect 7 series the e65 pre lci which is ugly as hell). I kinda miss my e60 too. Now i have 335d e90, which is a lot faster that this 530d, but e60 was way more comofortable and had better noise isolation.
Hello baltic brother, as soon as I saw 530d 170kw M57N2 i realized that I finally found a soulfriend for my bmw, it is literally the same except i dont have facelift headlights and prod year is 2005-10. I have this car for 5 years and I never done anything to engine in terms of stage or remap and whats interesting to me is at 0:18 the exaust sound on idle is the same like mine, does that mean the previous owner removed catalytic converter and dpf filter?
Great car, you have the same problem as i do, my steering wheel is also squeeking, i had my power steering pump dismounted and the reservoir which on top of it also, i cleaned it and installed with fresh new ATF fluid, did change the situatuoin, sqeeking sound now appears only after long city drive, i think it's overheating the atf fluid, maybe need to clean the power steering pump radiator, or use Lubrizol additive. Could you please explain a bit more how you remapped where, andhow much it costs basically)
Yeah, steering wheel was squueking on this car (already sold e60) i tried a lot of stuff to fix it, but nothing worked for me. It appeared only when its moisture outside, like at summer time when its hot there were no squueak at all. Same situation with winter, no squeeak. About map: I have friend, whos writing his own custom maps for m57 engines. So he did this map for me, special, custom map for this car (we did couple accelerations with logs recorded, etc). At first we did 80mg of fuel and 1.7 bar boost. I drove like that for almost a year, but then i wanted some more, so i met my friend again and we went all in with 92mg fuel and 1.9 bar boost (2.05 spool). Cause hes my friend - price wasnt that high .
@@mlgmounted9599 On a low % throttle yeah, it went down. But of course on a full throttle it went up. I did about 70000km on this vehicle and average consumption was something like 62L / 750km. So basicly 8L/100km. Dont forget that gearbox was remaped (reflashed) too, i think that also lowered consumption for a little.
@@Commonrail57 normal hybrid turbo, I have 2,1 boost from 1600 rpm to 4500 rpm ( I can get more but I should change intake to turbo ( standard intake pipe and air filter is bottleneck for a bigger boost) my turbo can generate about 3 bar boost pressure) with atmospheric 4 but on oem setup intake its not possible because on 2,5 bar it to much black smoke.. Standard turbo can generate 1.7- 1.8 bar between 2 rpm to 2,5 rpm and after 2,5/3k rpm lost pressure
@@krzysztofmazurkiewicz9831 My stock turbo generated 2.05 bar on spike and later 1.9 stable up to like 3500rpm or even 4000rpm (somewhere on google drive i have video from inpa live data) . Firstly you need to watch live data, from injector adjustments to rail pressure while rpm is jumping. Then air flow, etc. Maybe it's torque coverter. Idk, thousands of things can cause that.
It is maximum what you can press out of M57N2 with single turbo and (with) piezo injectors. Engine must be in a perfect condition, and all sensors working properly. Maximum is around 1.9 bar boost (spool 2.05) & 92mg fuel (you can even try 95mg but then it will throw a lot of black smoke) and i have raced against 2021 840i 250kw with 8hp gearbox and 29000 km on it (basicly new car), we were super close to each other, so yeah, 240kw it is. (Race was filmed aswell, but im too lazy to upload) You can even calculate, stock 170kw is 1.46 bar boost and 65mg fuel. So we added 43.7% more power. 170+43.7% = 250kw, minus engine wear and final result is ca240kw. For next steps bigger / bi turbo are needed, then R90 fuel pump. R70 is enough for 270kw.
Thx for the answear.i have e60 535d with 286hp stage 1 330hp.i think turbo pressure is 2.1bar...what you think how mutch is a maximal pressure for the stock turbo's?
This version of single turbocharged M57 is an absolute beast. You can easily add up to almost 50% more power with some basic mods. No other M57 allow you to do that (im talking about single turbocharged models). Thats all because of GT2260VK and piezo injectors. Those injectors are rated for 330kw. And turbo is pretty powerful too, much more better than 160kw one (which is like 210kw max)
@@gabor717 just install R90 fuel pump, 3 inch open exhaust, egr and swirlflaps off and you can get up to 300kw with original turbos.
