  • As conventions are beginning to cautiously come back, we're reminded of some of the more...rough parts of conventions. This video discusses some of the things you need to know before you start going to conventions!
*Also, yes, I know my other pop up of my user name messed up, by the time I noticed I was too tired to fix it, but the links are also down below

I definitely know of a hotel that banned all Star Trek conventions because the Trekkies that attended in prior years trashed the place. They were also pretty strict about what was allowed at receptions in their rented meeting room because of inconsiderate and inebriated guests

I can’t even believe you had to share some of these. It seems like common sense.

Ok, I’m getting sorta nerves for going to a con. I am going as dabi and overhaul and I have only ever been to smaller conventions, but the one I’m going to is a big one. Happy I’m covering my face with a mask (going with the black one not the plague doctor one because it’s too sweaty) but I’m quite socially anxious. I’m just not used to having photos taken etc.

Totally normal! I STILL get nervous going to bigger cons, but! You're more than welcome to say no thank you to having your photo taken, but if you don't mind getting your photo taken and you're just nervous about posing, your best bet is to just practice in the mirror! Look at poses that character does and how other cosplayers pose for him and practice those until you feel you can do them without looking! You can also set up your phone on a timer to see how you look! Otherwise, a LOT of people get anxious at cons, take a deep breath, understand you're in a safe space with other nerdy people and shake it out a bit. If they interact with you, remember! You have something in common!! A common subject like Fandom is really easy to start a conversation on.

@@BumbleTeaCosplay Thankyou so much. I really love your cosplays and I know that you probably hear it a lot but you do really help me. And I mean that.

another thing for 4:02 on innapropriate cosplays:
keep in mind that you're cosplaying in PUBLIC. some people have nearly gotten arrested because passer-bys thought they're "nude" outdoors.
