if you walk into the orb, you will get buffs. you don't have to attack them. at 3 stacks of a buff, it changes to a surge protection buff. typically the main tank should get this to help with tankbusters. in the last phase of the fight, the people with the tether connecting them together should grab (walk into) the orbs to get the buff (need 3 orbs) which will then remove the tether. there's a bit more strategy involved for people who like to get into small details, but for a synced casual run, you can basically avoid the orbs if you're not main tank or a tethered person.
