Zimmerman and Songbirds feel so good to use. Best Melee weapon I would mention goes to the VE-67LLA laser lance that you get somewhere in chapter 4. This is by far the most accurate blade, and easiest way to give the laser butterfly-240 a kiss. Combine with a weapon swap to another melee like the chainsaw or pile bunker so they can actually land a hit
Dude the chainsaw sucks, it’s harder to get every hit than pile bunker especially since it’s hitboxes don’t always work properly I’ve had enemies touching chainsaw and hits not register, also the pulse blade I’ve been able to chunk 3/4 health with its two hit attack when they are staggered, that’s in ac enemies that is. And the laser slicer is by far the highest damage melee in the game besides pile bunker, I’ve beaten enemies with a single stagger from dual duckets or sampu then a single combo of laser slicer, the lance I’ve never once finished an enemy that fast with it, and because it’s a straight line even PVE enemies can easily dodge it, especially since some like Rusty are capable of near instant stagger recovery, recovering in a 0.80-1.5 seconds, faster than players can. The pulse blade is easier to hit with, same with slicer , and because it hits so many times it has great stagger ability. The lances saving grace is its melee thrust range on charge attack. However the laser blade charge attack in recent patch can match slicer and nearly pile bunker
@@nexuvareldari7418 its been over a year since i posted that. Since then, Cel-240 got a nerf to its ability to bullshit dodge. Hit tracking and thrust for all blades had mechanics changed, and some stats have been rebalanced.
Just a reminder you can share build codes for these builds as well OP. Go to AC Data -> Menu -> Upload (Lowest Option on the List) This way you can share your builds as is for the console/OS that you are on.
I played through the first time with biped handguns, spinny sword. My favorite build has been duel Zimmerman with the dagger on your back. You can stagger into a shotgun, three slice then another shotgun shot because it typically leaves them at close range. Plus it refills super fast so free pve damage
My primary build for now is HU-BEN gatling gun, 770LB lazer blade, 70VPM plasma launcher, and GOU-CHEN grenade launcher. But a really good weapon combo is dual 760PR plasma rifle, and dual 70VPM plasma launchers it smokes boss health in no tim flat just build it for mid range to get the most out of it
I use one hand zimmerman and lance with two songbirds or stun needle. Land one shot with zimmerman and dash with lance means insta stagger and balst both songbirds plus the zimmerman as it gets reloaded by then.

This is the 2nd video I've seen were someone says to get and use the Zimmerman shotgun in chapter 2, but it doesn't unlock until you finish chapter 2. So you really can't use it till chapter 3. Unless you can like, find it in a chest in a mission somewhere I'm not aware of?

I knew there were more missions and new endings, just don't know were those new missions fall in the chapters as I'm on my first playthrough. But I can say for 100% certain, having just looked at my missions right now, that the Zimmerman shotgun unlocks at the first mission of chapter 3 on your first playthrough. I honestly hate this fact, because it restricts me from my favourite generators and body parts, cause needles want all the energy. Nothing competes needles, needles do it all, but needles are very heavy and very hungry, so I have to use "this" generator at least, with this body (cause generator multiplier, or you have to go even further on generator), and this basically makes the build.
@@dimKiriyenko Truenos that you unlock later on, as well as Coral missile launchers replace the needles if you want something different. The Truenos in particular are designed to be lightweight.
You were wrong in one thing, recoil control DOESNT AFFECT MELEE, it is only for firearms and it affects the trajectory of your shots, and it’s mainly only on the arms not shoulders, I will forgive your transgression as video was made not long after release and stuff hadn’t been learned yet but I learned this info from top PvP players. The thing that affects if melee hits is the hitboxes, fcs and target tracking stat.
So, what do you use if you're not using the Zimmerman shotguns? Since they don't unlock until the end of Chapter 2? Just stick with the SMGs? Also, what did you use to beat the stupid Spider?
Ya stick with the SMGs until you get the Zimmermans. There might be another pair of shotguns you can run as well in the meantime. I checked my Twitch Vod from last week and I had access to the Zimmermans during Spider. Unsure if they unlocked early because I did all my Arena missions first or something else.
Before spider you have gatlings and songbirds. Dual songbirds fill his ACS bar to 80-85%, gatlings take two more seconds to stun him, and this is ultimately the win.

Nice Akimbo Builds you've palyed the game with through but there is an Issue with your 2nd Build explanation. You've sad that you swap from those SMG's to the Zimmerman Shotguns but there are no Zimmerman Shotguns available on beginning Chapter 2. Could you tell where to get these, have I missed something? Oh ya that mission is a pain. I personally used 2x Zimmerman 1 Songbird 1 Needle launcher. However, my friend was stuck and switched the back pieces for missle launchers, so he could have more AoE against the small mechs. I personally boosted away from Michigan and tried to take out as many of the small guys as I could before I went 1v1 with him
Good quality video, but i not very agree about "late game" build, it late of first run, the real late game is about n++ with new weapon, parts, and new missions. And i totaly agree ca those gatling guns are cool, i used them to end my first run every time i was stuck, but many people noticed that they block few mission in a A-rank because amount of bullet is taking into account for S-Rank in some mission. . But great video , good content, good quality :) nice job :)
Viable sure. I ran through the game with these builds 2 months ago and did just fine. Is there something better? Maybe, I havent read the years' worth of patch notes to be sure
Definitely something weird going on. I never go much more than half ammo on any mission. Are you getting close enough so that the ricochet message doesn't pop up? And using your back cannons as much as possible?
My path to the moonlight great sword was directed under the guidance of sword and bazooka.

The Haldemans which are the first shotgun you unlock are pretty decent to carry you until you get the Zimmermans if you want shotguns.
Do one for other chapters. Would get clicks, ive been looking for a build for chapter 4 i just finished 3.
The Zimmer SGs + the Needle gun is the best OP combo IMO.

I'm currently on chapter 2 using the dual shotgun build. I must be doing something wrong as during the missions I am running out of ammo...
