We own homes in Miami and Puerto Rico. I returned to Miami to accept a job that will allow me to work remotely from PR after working 60 days in Miami. Since being in Miami employers have offered me positions earning 30% more in Miami. Thanks, but no thanks, I would rather earn less and live in Puerto Rico. We flipped. Our home was in Miami, our vacation home was in PR. Now our home is is PR and our vacation home is in Miami. As much as I love PR, I also still love Miami. Fortunately we can keep both of our homes, Miami and Puerto Rico.

Hi Jen. Thanks for telling it like it is about my beautiful Paradise island Puerto Rico. Many people have the wrong idea about Puerto Rico and Puertoricans. But you were right about my people, we are very Hospitable, friendly happy people, who never give up, no matter the circumstances. I'm Puertorican of Italian descent. My grandfather emigrated from Italy to Puerto Rico by boat in 1894, when the Spaniels where still in control. My dad was 4 years old and my uncle was 2 years old at the time. I'm very proud of my Puertorican birth place, and wouldn't trade it for the world. I grew up with many other European descendants, such as Irish descendants, German descendants, French descendants, English descendants, African descendants, and we all went to the same schools, and lived in the same neighborhoods in Ponce. We didn't know racism in Puerto Rico. We were all Puertoricans. That's it. There aren't any Indian natives tribes alive in Puerto Rico, since the Spaniels killed them with hard labor, and they had to bring African slaves to do the hard labors. In school l was fascinated in learning everything about our history. I went to college and learned even more about our history. There's nobody who can truly say they are Taino descendants, because we are talking about the 1500 century when they were killed by the Spaniels. And there was a small population of Tainos to begin with. What they call Indian in PR, is the mixture of blacks with white, which really aren't Indian, they are mulattos.
Anyway, my dear Jen, l wanted to thank you for talking honestly and for loving my beautiful island, and clarifying, about the misconception people have about Puerto Rico. You are already Puerto Rican too. God bless you, and l will keep listening to your wonderful vlog.

My wife and I bought a house in Palmas two years ago and we are having to wait to have enough to retire there, my business is not one I can move or operate from there and once I retie I am not planning on working anymore. The one thing that brought PR to my attention was a story on how few shark attacks PR has had, your story sounds very similar to ours. Also, like the videos of you and Isis, you both are so funny.

Your genuine-ness and your kindness come through so clearly, and your drive to inform others is truly remarkable. The way that you intertwine facts and data, along with your own experiences and perspective, is useful for viewers with varied interests and personal prerequisites. Watching your videos and learning from you has been the most comprehensive introduction to Puerto Rico that I can possibly imagine -- short of actually living there of course. Last but not least, you seem humble, or at least very appreciative of your own blessed good fortune to live and work in Puerto Rico. You also appreciate the good that you see in others who live there. Thanks for what you do. God Bless.

It took nine month's for us to close on a new construction home with 75% cash down. Antonio, deciding to move back to the Island is a matter of trade-offs, depending on what you value the most. For instance, depending on where you have lived, you now have a good idea of what it means to pay taxes and have efficient public services. However, if you miss and crave a sense of community, hospitality, and warmth, then the West Coast is the place for you, regardless of how bad the public services for electricity, water, and healthcare. I wish you the best. Greeting from Washington, DC.

Hey Jen. My family is from Puerto Rico. My aunt uncle and dad live there. My mom has been in the states for decades now. I remember growing up there. Life was awesome. Now, my husband and I are selling our home in Long Island NY. We expect to be fully living there by end of Summer. Your videos have inspired me. I'm very happy to know that our little island and wonderful people have made such an impact on you. Thank you for being part of our culture and family...you have a lot to offer. I am teaching Spanish to people on the island so that it's easier for them to navigate. At the moment I do it through zoom. Once in puerto rico I plan on teaching it in person. I know that there's a very real need. Let me know how I can help. We will be there mid June to visit family and continue our talks with Realtors. It would be awesome if we can meet up. Keep up the good work and God bless.:)

Well let me start by saying Thank You, Thank You ,Thank You !! You have been so informative concerning everything from flying to the Island and touring the island. Last year in July we went to Puerto Rico stayed 2 weeks for our 23rd Wedding Anniversary and visit my family. We stayed in Ponce 1st , then ended vacation staying at Isla Verde side. Because of your videos about the island we visited 22 cities hitting all the beautiful spots and must visit parts of Puerto Rico. My wife was so surprised, asking how did you know about all these places ? I told her "Jen" invited us... Thank you Jen , I meant to send you this sooner. Now this July we are planning another trip there. Best Wishes , Stay Safe, and thank you also for your travel updates. Andrew Rodriguez.

As always our dear Jen, we love watching your videos and what I mostly love is when you say “Puerto Rico” it just sounds so sweet. I’m 54 and would love to one day move there. My daughter has been living in PR for the past year and a half. She is actually doing her Medical rotations in San Juan/Ponce. My husband and I visited the island a couple of times since she moved there and I just LOVE it. I would like to make a move but I just feel like I’m stock where I am. I love my house/home in the US and I think that is part of it. If I could fold it (house and land) and be able to ship it, I think I would lol 😂
Any suggestions for someone like me? 🤦🏻‍♀️🥰...Stay safe.

If all puertoricans have the love and passion for our country that you have, this would be a much better place. I have lived most of my life here in Puerto Rico, I have worked in all over US in the past and I am now planning to move for a year to another country just for a change and to "see" the world but I will come back to PR for sure. Hi, Jen, from Michigan. I had noticed your videos on my Google feed and finally caught the bait. I am glad I did! Moving to Palmas sight unseen makes sense for a state-side person going over to PR the first time. But, the West coast is my favorite, too. Cabo Rojo, Lajas, San German, Mayaguez, Rincon. Of course, Old San Juan deserves a whole day and night, if not 2. Oh, and Barranquitas. I must go soon. Sorry that I am out of topic but I miss it. And my extended family. Left in '86 to get a master's degree and decided to stay here "for five years". 30 years past the due date, here I am. Now, back to the topic. After your video and your reminder about the tax incentives, I may end up back on the island sooner rather than later. Thank you very much for these videos! Next will be the home buying video!
