Americans bruh. Good he didnt use miles or smth
I miss Levy’s thousand yard stares. Bring them back.
He can't cuz a guy on a few vids ago said he didn't like them

Levy asking if we actually watch the whole game, not me watching the games for 5 hours on 3 different screens
It gets better when Vishy analyses the positions.
I find classical chess very boring, but I enjoy the recaps on them. I enjoy watching blitz and rapid though. Shit gets crazy in those

Levy making his courses 33% off so that we can make it to the candidates
😂😂
The young grandmasters coming out of India in this tournament are so aggressive. They apparently sit down at the board and say “all I see are 64 squares when all I want is AN OCTAGON.”
only prag
@@anirudhkashyap23Gukesh better
@@Michael-ey1th I didn't say Pragg is better than Gukesh, his style is more agressive, Gukesh is more of a solid player
@@anirudhkashyap23 sorry I misunderstood
I was very impressed by Gukesh defense against Pragg
Seeing the deferred schliemann gives me hope that we'll see a kings gambit in the candidates someday
"Not at your level, its just the beginning" 🤣 bro gets me every time with these little viewer roasts.
Also, trivia: the last time the deferred Schliemann was played in a top level game was in the 1974 final Candidates match Karpov vs Korchnoi where Korchnoi played the gambit and held Karpov to a draw.
Thank you for the info, I was genuinely curious abt it
Yeah Leo mentioned it
Evans in the candidates is CRAZY
Evans isn't that crazy, we've seen top engines play it successfully, the eval is equal, what is WILD is the Schliemann that Pragg played (and win with it somehow)
Engine: drops by 0.1
Levy: deadly blunder
Prag always got the most entertaining games guy is a chess artist
Prag might be my favorite player after some of these games, what a beast!
What was he thinking about? En Passante is forced.
ikrr bro doesnt even know the rules and he is playing in candidates.
For chess on TV to work, they need to produce it like they do like poker, where it's tape delayed, and highlights the most interesting/ dramatic moments
Clickbait titles are absolutely garbage-tier for going back and finding videos. I wanted to rewatch a video of your coverage from Tata Steel and it was basically impossible to find it.
Just do a search Gothamchess !!!!. You will find half the videos. For the rest search on ????
I don't like super clickbaity titles either. For Tata Steel coverage I recommend looking for videos that correspond to the dates.
@@proman84ima use the Rosetta Stone to reinterpret titles. Will publish findings in a video titled “INTERPRETING A REAL ALIEN LANGUAGE!”
Guess what? The titles aren’t for you. You’re subscribed and are going to watch anyway. The clickbait is for the algorithm to find new people.
@@justinn8410 that’s fine while it’s recent, once it’s old algo don’t push it anymore. And people just searching for TATA round 2 don’t find it either. He should retroactively update the titles
Gotham I am so excited about the candidates and I stay awake in the Uk for your uploads. So exciting and you do an amazing job and I look forward to your videos massively
For future reference, the title now is "WHY DID HE DO THAT??????????"
Not enough question marks to be accurate
11 question marks*
Who did what though
@@mabel3989 no idea😅
Title has not been changed yet. Is something wrong??
"In terms of percent, it is playsd VERY VERY rarely"
Thank you for your mathematician level percentages Levy.
The way Nepo plays is interesting. Because his positions are solid enough that he forces his opponent to think, and he thinks on his opponents time, which is exhausting but keeps him up on the clock. He's almost daring his opponent to play some wild hair-brained idea that might not be entirely sound
So far, of all the game coverage in these series, I'm most interested in Tan Zhongyi. I didn't know her before this tournament, but the coverage Levy's doing on her games is really exciting! 😃
shes actually terrifying im realizing right now
Vidit is so calm.. So calm!
Hopefully he bounces back
Pragg & Peter cooking dark arts
Levy always advertising his course in creative way. 😂😂😂
Gotham never fails to understand why he did that
Loving these recaps!
Thank you for covering this. I cant spend half a day watching it live. Thank you for bringing it to life in an amount of time that is watchable.
So cool constantly seeing the siblings at the same ranking at the end
Thanks for the recaps levy!!!
Hey levy I really like this video format . KEEP DOING IT
"Just the heavy pieces, not calling them fat"
😂
fatshaming a poor rook wouldn't be nice lol
I love it when Levy casually insults me in the middle of analysis, you just never know when its coming
I’m a Gukesh fan was definitely rooting for a win but tough opponent in Nepo Glad he got a draw at least
He was better never worse
29:22 "Completely unexplored territory" Except for the fact that I played this against a GM as black in Karlstad Open 2023, and won. Its sort of surreal to see the novelty I played (d6) being played by Pragg at the absolute highest level!
Did you just skip to that?
@@wildfamily2655 probably he watches at 2x

guy it hasnt even been 20 minutes

Love the way pragg is playing
Tho I am not seeing the women's match, but I appreciate that levy is covering all the women's games too.
Yes! Pragg played my opening - I often played as a youngster ... I beat an FM with it.
Good to see you covering both the events. Open and women.
never seen a fully memorised game! Tan Zhongyi rocks!
I really like the vidit's approach to this tournament.
He might have lost the game, but...
He was considered to be one of the underdogs, but he still came to the boxing ring willing to put up fight
It's almost 2am in my country, but i need to watch the recap rn
You should be a guest in gotham garage, let them do you a custom chess car
AmaIng games here!! Normally I’m not a fan of classical, but this shit is hitting different. Love the risk these guys are taking and just playing chess. Amazing.
I wish we had playlists for tournament recaps bc its fun to binge watch them while doing something, especially the candidates/WCCs in the past
its like opening the chamber of secrets is crazy to say and funny
Pragg is so creative player, i hope he wins.
Dude im stoned and that description of the semi-slav (you'll have the adidas but not the car) had me CACKLING LMAO. Well done dude.
Loving this series

@@bencash4967 because I found it highly offensive and misleading. Thanks for asking tho✌️
Gotham never fails to change his video titles
I sometimes do watch the whole game. it might not be that entertaining if you just watch the board, but listening to the commentators and their ideas makes it much, much funnier and enjoyable.
Levy before every game, This game will be crazy!!!!🤣🤣
AND HE SACRIFICES HIS CAREER!!! 😮😮😮😮😮
Can't wait to see how Gotham will react to Pragg's opening choice. These IMs are usually tryna cut our heads off for playing non-standard openings but look at it work at a high level.
Isn't that the way with every subject? First you learn the rules until you are good enough to break the rules
He very frequently talks about how the best players in the world are able to do weird stuff and make it work, but if average players did the same stuff it would be a disaster
Prag is my favourite player, he reminds of a modern tal where he complicates everything and goes to a place where 2+2=5
Gotham’s Caro-Kann and E4 courses are great!
Thanks for these videos dude, you're doing a really great job of making a boring format super entertaining 👍
Watching gotham chess with 550 Elo is that cool ?
Zhongyi vs Humpy whole game is literally in chessable short and sweet course. like everything🤣

"Starts doing the Nepo" sounds like a trendy dance xD. Ahhh dis man bout to hit the chess griddy
I sit glued to the screen for classical chess
It’s the beauty of chess you can watch the tournament and be productive
Levy finds a way to blame everyone but Hikaru when theres a boring game 💀💀dude just lost and is playing the lowest seed, but its all on Nijat that this game was boring. Oh hikaru tried so so hard to get a winning position, oh he really did, but it was all Nijats fault.
True, that’s kinda annoying how Levy jumps out of his way to cushion Hikaru’s accumulating failures. Probably because he collabs with him the most, but I still find it weird, as in his recent interview he gave in Russian he told that he doesn’t really know who he is to Hikaru or other top players, so they weren’t really buddies-buddies in the first place.
There is no time to watch the whole game, but still love to see the favorites play thanks Levi for the highlights
Yeah it's just too long. But I pop in for an hour sometimes and I think the casters do a great job analyzing and talking about the games positions and players so it's not boring. But I couldn't do it for 5 hours
I watch full games, especially when comedian Samay Raina is entertaining the audience for 5 hours while commenting
I actually stayed glued to the stream watching the whole thing.
prag my favorite, props to him
You’re gonna have the ADIDAS but not the car. Levy with the flow😂😂😂😂😂
Every candidates video comes out on 3 or 4 in the morning
you should also include points of player beside their name in right corner
Right at the end... "get a corset" or get a course, it..." hahahaha
Levy transitioning into his insane scientist arc with this hair
Very very common gambit, it’s super rare to see stuff like this
"youre going to have the adidas but not the car" is criminally underrated lmao 💀
Gotham never fails. XD
Another great recap by Levy!
Actually yes sometimes I do sit glued to my screen while the players thin thinking with them
"Let me tell you in terms of a percent ....... its very very very rare" 😂😂
First hikaru 's games are brilliant
I love watching these videos! Keeps up the good work!
Great Job Levy entertaining informative humorous Appreciated
That Vaishali Rameshbabu game is so cold, first time I've ever seen a game that made me want to play the Petrov.
5:55 I watch the games live. During the PICF, I was even there literally live for most of the games.
"the adidas but not the car" that was a good one
Damn Lei is having the toughest time bouncing back she straight up played the Evans Gambit at 2500 level classical 🤣🤣🤣 I love her playing style she tries to play in a way that is not boring
Levy never fails to fail in this Levy...
I get home, walk my dog, one move gets made lolololol :'D
Leko saw and supported Rh7 in Pragg's game instinctively.
No way he just said that
“I’m throwing away a quick black game”
LMFAO
Such beautiful games today!
Levy I think your video format is great! However, in my opinion, I think you should increase the video length. Maybe spend more time on each game (assuming their spicy) and dissect them more as they are elite level games competing for the top title. There are a lot of ideas that can easily be missed and most people watching the candidates are chess nerds and won’t mind watching more levy so long as chess is played. Maybe don’t shy from longer video to cover these more complex games? Just an idea:)
Keep walking your doggy!😂
I watch glued up to the tv for 18 minutes... in fact I watched full coverage for 3 rounds on tv...
It's funny I was watching this yesterday because I was at a chess tourment and they had that playing while we were waiting
"Hikaru plays a slav.
