    This was the best video I could reference for my 2022 4Runner. I’m not sure how others do it, but I found it tough when installing the full tray set up on the truck. Getting the wiring through the firewall grommet was a b*tch, and ended up pulling half the grommet into the cabin. Took me 40 mins to get the grommet to seat and seal perfectly again. Still have switch wiring to complete and then cables to battery, but those all seem too long. I totally agree with your frustration on this install!

      Grommet was one of most frustrating things

    Seems like you did fine. Set up looks clean and professionally installed. Don’t beat yourself up on it and these electrical jobs and running wire take a while and some good hours that’s why they charge so much for install so don’t consider your job/yourself as taking to long. When your doing it right it takes time.

    Connor, From your experience installing the switch box relay, it’s easy to understand why the majority of automotive problems are electrical in nature. Most owners are to scared to even think about doing this type of work. Kudos to you for a successful installation. I am still deciding on what accessories I will buy for my 2022 4Runner Off-road.

      There is something about installing things yourself that you learn and appreciate even more! Hopefully your 4runner turns out amazing!

    Great video. One thing, the manual emphasizes to connect switch pro ground directly To negative battery terminal and not frame.

    Love the garage set-up! You need to do a garage walk-thru video. This is Obsessed Garage level!

    Mine came with a. Fuse link (a lot smaller) in line with the power wire. Saves you slot of wiring space

  • @unounv
    @unounv 7 місяців тому

    So is the fuse box and bus bars and circuit breaker included in the switch pro kit or you have to source all that separately?

    The Harness wires are being drawn to the Terminal Block? How is the Fuse Box connected to this setup! Not quite clear here.
    Individual connections have to be fused right?

    What did you end up doing with the pink wire?

    Way easier to remove OEM relay from bracket then remove bracket. Where did you put the relay box. There is a tapped hole by firewall for it to sit out of the way and be accessible.

    I'm burning through just about every SP-9100 installation video there is on YT and hitting the forums as well BEFORE I crank/cut/strip/drill/remove anything OEM and the switch itself. I'd really like to mount the switch pad elsewhere BUT the area most popular is on the L side where you did. This may be the most advantageous spot as it's the closest to the engine bay although I'd entertain mounting it on a RAGO, or simular, mount center dash clock area using RAM mounts to keep it on my right and at somewhat eye level. Decisions, decisions

      I bought the mount from SDHQ So I did not have to cut into any oem panels. The mount replaces the oem panel with a pre-cut slot for the panel to fit in perfectly

      @@Connortaustin...yeah, I've had the MT on my hands for a bit and that's a not a problem nor concern. When I say "OEM", I mean where the touch pad will mount. Only want to drill/cut once.

    Is it possible for dash cam parking mode?

    This was forsure a head breaker

    Just curious not questioning your method at all. But Switch Pro says that you do not need to use terminal blocks or relays you should connect directly to their wires for warrantee purposes. So why are you using all that extra stuff when switch pro recommends not to. Again just curious I am not questioning your method?

    • @Connortaustin
      @Connortaustin  2 роки тому +1

      If you just use the switch pro mounted to the side-wall it is going to be a mess with wires and everything…
      Adding the mount from sdoffroad mount, allows for a terminal block / bus bar / fuse box / relay switch where you can put positive/negative on the mount for all 8 accessories for the switch. So with the mount I have, only 2 wires are going through the firewall, and everything is clean and mounted to the tray instead of multiple spots within the engine bay
      Plus if you wanted to add other overland accessories then you’d want a tray with these options

    wazzup bro quick question where did you tap the white wire? TIA

    • @Connortaustin
      @Connortaustin  2 роки тому

      So I haven’t tapped the white wire in yet, but when I do I’m going to tap it in to the tail slot, so when ever I turn my lights on at night time, the switch dims also
      For me the tail I believe is top left on the fuse box if I remember correctly off top of my head
