Cat Bounds - I think copying is a great way to learn. I did it all the time when I first started painting. Then I found the qoute «a good artist copies, a great artist steals.» Thats when I realized that snitching small techniqes from multiple artists and adding that in my own way was how I found my own style. Happy creating!
@@CathyMevik My background is primarily digital art, where copying is literally a crime, but "real" art mediums are the most fun; I use other artists' techniques and tutorials as a springboard to take me in my own directions. I'm coming out of an illness that required all my time, energy and attention for several years, and now that I've found my muse again, the UA-cam art community is like a big candy store. The hardest part is deciding which one to try next :)
