My suspicions have been confirmed. My i7 4790k (4 Cores, 8 Threads) is holding me back. I have 10 - 20 fps in Uncharted Drake's Fortune on the RPCS3 emulator using the RTX 3060 GPU.

Great video, I'm still running my 970's in sli with a 4960x. I'm curious if sli holds any gains in rpcs3 emu. Its nice to see the 970 hold its own against the newer 4070 after all these years. Obviously in PC taking the 4070 would run circles around the 970

Before 2020, I also had a third-generation i5, and that processor served me well for many years. It's a shame it doesn't support AVX2, otherwise, I could still use it for emulators today. It was truly a revolutionary generation for Intel. And as tested before, a GTX 1050 still has a lot of life left if you're not looking to invest in a new GPU right now.
Single core performance matters more than Multi core. For example an 8 core R7 would beat an Intel Xeon chip with 24 cores in emulation despite Xeon performing better in multi core workloads.
Currently, there is a project in Yuzu called Project UMA. It promises to reduce RAM consumption, both for its PC and Android versions. The estimated RAM usage when UMA is implemented is around 10GB (in-game RAM usage) for PC and between 6 and 8GB for Android.
When it comes to emulation, it indeed matters very little. However, you will see in the second part of the video the significant difference that a high-end GPU can make when I ran RDR on Xenia at 4K resolution with the emulator's internal resolution set to 1080P. I also couldn't test many current PC native games because the only games I have with ray tracing support are Control and Battlefield 5. In Control, with all settings maxed out, including RT, the GPU usage was around 40%.
Based on some things I just read, your processor is said to be 30% better than mine, so this difference could be directly noticeable, especially in RPCS3, where single-core performance is a key requirement for good performance. As for CPUs, emulators generally don't have many restrictions, but if you are using an AMD GPU or integrated GPU alongside your Ryzen processor, there may be some issues. It's not that AMD GPUs have problems, but in general, their drivers are not as optimized for emulation compared to other brands.

RPCS3 is actually heavily dependent on the full power of your CPU's single core performance. This means that the higher the frequency of your CPU, the better the emulator's performance will be. Unfortunately, the two processors I currently have access to only have a 10% difference in performance gain, so I cannot demonstrate this through a video.
It is possible that this is the issue. Try increasing the frame rate in the GPU options of the emulator, but first check if the game doesn't become accelerated or if there is any patch that allows FPS unlocking.

i got the same error on gran turismo 6 along something related to invalid param sfo when opening rpcs3... i couldnt fix it so i ended up deleting the game and downloading another version and works...

You're CPU bound by that 10400F man, try with a 13600K or a 7800X3D, also try 4K instead of 1080p

Gran turismo 6 is not working correctly and is recommended not to update your game beyond version 5
